Good gift for retiree and nice picture book to look at

I haven't used any of the trip ideas yet but I have enjoyed looking at the pictures.
Okay-But short on details. Wanted details or "why"
Wanted the book to help direct road travel/trips. Okay for suggesting area and listing sights but had hoped for a little more detail to decide-- Why should I stop here or go see that.
Beautiful and informative book!
Although it appears to be a glossy, beautifully photographed "coffee-table" book, this volume is a wealth of information on travel and road trips. Highly recommend!

bought this as a retirement gift and ended up spending a lot of time looking at the book before passing it on.

This was okay, unfortunately the cover of the book had slight ware on the ends. Loved the book and how fast it came though

The kindle edition of this book is unreadable
The Kindle edition of this book is unreadable, it is a very bad scan, fuzzy text, blocky pictures and poorly formatted. It is surprising that a quality firm like National Geographic would release such a poorly constructed book for Kindle. I've tried the book on three devices (desktop, tablet and Oasis) and the book is impossible to navigate and read. The printed version of the book is very good with interesting drives, text and photos so it is a shame the e-book is formatted the way it is. The return window for some reason is extremely short so beware, not recommended.
