Disney Storybook Collection Advent Calendar

I usually do a book sack for my daughters where I wrap Christmas books and a few times a week, they get to open a new one leading up to Christmas to read together. Gets quite expensive. I was excited to find this for only $22 and we get 24 mini books. It's huge in size! Each book is individually in a pocket and slid in gold paper to reveal the surprise. You can move the books around anyway you'd like. The writing is kinda tiny since they're mini books, which was the only downside. Great variety of Disney characters and some princesses. The books are well made. Great alternative to candy Advent calendar. Can't wait for my daughters to see this and for the price it's a deal!

I bought this and the Frozen advent calendar for my girls this year. This just arrived and I am saving it for December. My kids are going to enjoy this long after Christmas. The books come in slots wrapped in a paper so they are hidden. After Christmas, I know my kids will still store their books in the slots and play with this as a set b/c they love things like this. The book is large and sturdy. My only criticism is that a picture of all the books is printed on the back of the large book. What's the point of individually wrapping the stories if you are going to print every book on the back? I am going to tape a paper over this and tell my kids to ignore that part until they are done unwrapping them all.

As with other reviewers, when this item was delivered a lot of the books had slid out of their pockets. I am surprised this item is not shrink wrapped to protect it from happening. But all the books were accounted for and there was no damage. This calendar is huge! A lot bigger than I expected. The little books are a nice size and actually have a lot more pages in them than I thought they would. A nice length for my 6-year-old who loves to read chapter books. Also pre-ordered this item when it was under $20 so it was an amazing deal for what you get. I won't knock off a star for the unruly packaging but I feel like in the future this is definitely something that needs to be addressed.

I am SO excited about this Advent Calendar. My 2 year old is very into books and when I saw this I was excited to pre-order it. It showed up the other day and WOW. While this is larger then I anticipated, the little books are so nicely wrapped and in their own slips. The outside is a tougher material and held together by a beautiful red bow. I hope my son is as happy with the books as I am with the first impression!

Big and beautiful, however it comes unwrapped which means half the books were all over the box. I question if it was preformed but all the small books are still wrapped. Need to check to make sure I got them all and no duplicates.

Absolutely perfect. I wanted an advent calendar that would be fun and last for many Christmases to come. The quality is well made and the books are perfect for any age range. I bought this for my 8 yr old and I can't wait to start reading in December. Each book is varaious Disney characters and the stories are new. Each book is a Christmas story. I purchased 2 more as gifts after I recieved my order.

A very cute Advent calendar! I really wanted to make one with all different kinds of books but this is absolutely perfect. It is not too large and folds flat so it will be able to store for next year! Just a hig hardcover book with pockets that hold the books . The numbers are not in order which I didn't like at first but after using it for a bit, I like that they are random. Makes it a game for my child to find the number. The books are small size but fun stories. We've only read 4 of them but we are enjoying them. Overall I'd recommend this for anyone who is a Disney fan and wants to read Disney stories every day in December! My child absolutely loves it as well!

This thing is huge! Super cute! I can’t wait until December 1st when we show this to my daughter! I had the same issue as others with the books being all over the box, but they were all accounted for, and nothing was damaged I don’t understand the reasoning of the numbers being out of order. I thought it was an error, but I see that the preview image shows them in the same order. Most advent calendars run in number order...I find this very strange

This is much bigger than I thought it would be, I'm not sure why since it contains books, but it's very large. The books are all individually wrapped and in their pockets, making each day a little more enjoyable because my grandkids will be able to open a gift each day rather than just pull out a book to read. This is super cute and I'm very glad I purchased.

Product arrived completed damaged on the inside only so it wasn’t from shipping, box fine, outside of item is fine, but books on inside ripped to shreds. So I put in for a replacement. Without notifying me I checked my account and it said replacement was cancelled contact customer service. So I did. They said it was showing as a refund item, but I have an email from the day I put in for replacement giving me a shipping label for a REPLACEMENT, so another error on their part not mine. Anyway they changed it to replacement but the arrival date isn’t until December 17 which is useless for an advent calendar. I said that and they said the vendor doesn’t ship for 1-2 months. The replacement was out in on late October or very early November. They should ship it out faster since they sent me a damaged one and it is plenty of time to do so. Really annoyed that my daughter won’t have this maybe I’ll save it for next year if it arrives in tact this time. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

The books are palm sized and the overall calendar is huge! The books are soft-cover and have nice full stories. I’m very happy with this.

Advent Calendar “Book” is much bigger than I expected. And the 24 story books inside are much longer than I expected. They are full-length Disney Xmas stories written just for this advent calendar. Great illustrations with all the great Disney characters. I’m really impressed! Makes a great gift - for kids of all ages!

I love that this advent calendar has a book for each day instead of candy or a toy! Looks well made and such a great keepsake. It is larger than most advent calendars because it contains books, but I'm sure it'll make it that much more fun!

We thought these would be short books, but they are often 3-5 minute stories! The kids absolutely love getting a brand new book every day and then proceed to ask us to read them about 20 times that day. This is WAY better than candy or toys. Even better, they are the perfect size to put in my purse and take with us, if we ever get to travel again! We used to carry several books with us to hotels for bedtime, but since we now will have 24 of these, it will lighten our suitcases! Absolutely would recommend these to other parents with preschool - K age kids.

This is incredible. It’s a very large very wonderful thing to keep around from year to year and look through. I don’t have small kids anymore but I can still appreciate this as I’ve always loved advent calendars. It would be great for like toddlers to be able to read the little books to every year and make a tradition.

This is a great idea... a book a night leading up to Christmas. But as others have stated, you have to open it up before giving it to the recipient to make sure all the books are there, in their slots, and actually still in their wrapping paper. We’re missing one book. After putting them all back in, since they were strewn about, and hunting through the box and packing paper, I’m not sure I trust a replacement to fair any better. Might keep, since it’s a cute idea, and just stick chocolate in the last day.

I love advent calendars and this one was great. Every night a new story with my daughter. The books are wrapped so you don’t know the story until the day of. Also I kept the wrapping and reassembled it and will definitely be using this again next year. Only small negative was the story order. For Christmas Eve it was the story of the movie onward. Not very festive so I rearranged to have a Christmas story for Christmas Eve next year! Easy fix.

Very cute alternative to a candy advent calendar. I do wish the little books were a little nicer though. They are just paper stapled together not a true book.

We love this calendar. The only problem is that there are 2 number 21's and we are missing the 23rd day. and we already have 2 of the same books. We are not done with the calendar so we are not sure if there are any more doubles. We enjoy opening it everyday but the date mistakes should be fixed as well as double books. My child was pretty disappointed yesterday getting a book twice. She knew right away. Thanks.

This is an awesome advent calendar....but...one of the books is missing!!!!! Can you replace it please!!! It's 'Wreck it Ralph, Wreck the Halls'.. Then I can give you the appropriate rating!!!

This is a cute concept for an advent calendar, and I like the idea that it could be reused each year. However I made the mistake of waiting until the night before December 1st to look carefully through the book pockets and noticed there is no “17” but instead two pockets labeled “19” with identical books inside. Disappointed I didn’t notice the error earlier, because it appears to be no longer available for replacement.

It’s very cute and I’m sure the books will be lovely. The problem we face right now is that most of the books didn’t arrive in their designated spots. It’s not a huge deal, I can put them back in, but the advent giver should set it up /open before giving it to the child Incase they have to do the same.

Was so very excited for this. Took it to work for my pre k class and we opened it only to find half the books are missing. We are very sad. Seeings how December starts tomorrow and its to late for another advent calendar.

I bought this as a lightening deal and it was probably the best Christmas purchase I’ve made! We had my six year old’s Elf on the Shelf deliver this on day one. My daughter woke up every day to find her elf and open the books of the advent calendar each day and we read them each night before bed. So much better than a little cheap piece of chocolate!

Super cute. I got this for my 9 year old to read to my 8 month old twin girls. I’m so excited about giving this to them that my husband has had to hold me back from giving it early!

I just opened this to show my kids, 5 and 2.5, their first Advent calendar and almost immediately my husband pointed out that #4 was missing. Customer service is unable to replace it because it's out of stock so I have to move all the pieces up and come up with a solution for the 24th.

Great collection of stories, longer than I expected. My almost 4 year old doesn’t quite have the attention span yet to listen to a whole story, but I like that she will enjoy them for years to come. My biggest complaint is that the numbers are not in order to visually see how many days are left until Christmas. I get that it’s a bit of a game to find the next number, but I’d rather it display as a true countdown advent calendar. Overall the book is huge and awesome. My daughter loves it. There are some old classic Mickey stories as well as more modern Disney characters.

Great idea my daughter has enough toys does not need anymore and she gets enough candy so this is something different and it gives you quality time with your child if you choose to read it with them. She loves us and it’s very cute it’s quite large larger than I expected but I love everything about it.

I buy a Disney advent calendar every year. My son has food allergies and cannot have the chocolate ones, but quite honestly this is so much better! More quality time with my child reading a new story every night leading up to Christmas. I recommend to everyone, not just allergy parents.

Arrived damaged and missing booklets. See photos for damage. Booklets were all over in the shipping box when it arrived. Not at all securely packaged. I ordered two of these, but so many stories were missing that even if I combine the two sets they won’t make a complete set, but I did get random duplicates and even one triplicate of a book, which is completely pointless for an advent calendar book set. This was a big disappointment for what seemed a cute idea. Some of the stories aren’t even winter or Christmas themed. The onward book is just a mini version of the same movie. This seems questionable and I have to wonder about whether this product is even licensed by Disney.

I would definitely buy a different version of this every year for my kid. It is large!!! Received today, a bunch of the books had fallen out in transit but, I just put them back in their respective slots. No problem. Impressed otherwise, truly! I took a picture and out an average size pen next to it for you reference.

Very disappointed :( The books are tiny, which is fine, but most of them are very old stories and are way too long. Way too many words on each page. Based on the front of the calendar, it looked like it would be all of the stories and characters that my daughter watches all of the time. She’s 3 and super bored with this calendar. She doesn’t even want to open the book each night. I’m so sad :(

I am super impressed by this product. The books are pretty lengthy, so definitely worth it, and not just baby books. Some of the stories weren't great, but they can't all be winners, and my kids didn't care. I loved seeing some throw-backs to older Disney movies. The last two books were the most recent Disney movies, not Christmas related. Overall, this advent calendar was wonderful for my family this year, and I likely wrap the books back up and use it in the coming years. Great product!

My review isn’t based on the books themselves. I’m sure my kids will love them. But getting it ready for our elf to leave for the kids, it’s missing two pieces. Days 24 and 19 are gone. I should have opened it sooner, but I didn’t realize the books were loose.

Ordered it early and opened it on Nov 30th to set up for the kids and 2 books are missing. For the price it would be great but missing 2 books is pretty frustrating to try and find 2 similar size books and wrap them

My two year old son loves this advent calendar. We had last year's version too and will continue the tradition. Only critique is last year the product was shrink wrapped, but this year it wasn't so when I received it, all the books were out of their pockets which was annoying.

This book is amazing! It is HUGE and a must have for any kid that is a Disney lover! I love that all the books are Holiday themed this year. It came in perfect condition with all the books included. Thinking about buying the Frozen and Marvel one too! Highly recommend!

Pre-ordered this for my great niece as she loves Disney. Please note the books are a bit of everything Disney has put out, not just the usual Mikey, Minnie and Princesses.

I purchased this for my grandson who is 5. My daughter says that they love it. Every night before bed he opens his book and they read together. The books themselves are small but stories are not short. Great value. Hope they make new books for next year. Would defiantly purchase again.

Besides arriving after Christmas, the product only arrived with 11 of the 24 books. I have liked previous year's versions of this product, so I am disappointed that this version was so poorly managed for quality.

This was a great gift for both of my children (4 & 9 years old) high quality and can be used again if you choose to. The only thing is some of the books are quite long so just be prepared for that :)

It is not very often I write at review, but this collection actually caught me off guard. The actual book holder is huge with 25 small individually wrapped books numbered 1-25. The Christmas season will be festive day after day! My 3 year old son can’t wait to start it. It is high quality, nicely done, and has an element of surprise since each story is individually wrapped! We can’t wait to start this!

My daughter who is 3, loves this!! She picks the number before bedtime and we read it to her. I love that theres a different book. Although there small, they are long enough and great pictures. I wish they didnt show what books youll get on the back, kinda ruins the suprise.

The outside container is cheaply made. The ribbon fell off during the first use. Books are cute and longer then I expected.

I paid a premium mark up for this product in November. I also paid extra to make sure it arrived in time for Advent to start. It arrived yesterday, 2 weeks past the estimated arrival. Clearly the extra money paid for expedited shipping did no go to expedite the shipping as it was clearly shipped standard ground.

It was a huge hit! My child loved all the stories. Almost all of them were holiday related. Others were based just on one of the movies, we still enjoyed reading them. The overall size of the calendar was a little bigger than expected, but the quality of the whole thing was definitely worth the price.

These are the perfect little books and a great advent. No candy, small parts...and reusable year after year! A win in our book.

These are a great value when you pre order them. Paid 19.95 for 24 books. My kids love them! Only bad side is the spelling mistakes in the books, they consistently spell sled as “sledge” about 15-20 times in one book and a few times in another. We are only on book 4.

Received the book completely damaged. There’s a huge hole going through the entire spine of the book as well as a damaged pocket and damnaged short story. No receipt, no packing slip. Just a damaged book.

Didn’t have all the dates leading up to the 24th. Had duplicate dates instead. Returning it for another. Hopefully this one is correct. Other than that this seems cool for my kids.

My 6 year old loved this advent calendar! All the books were unique and Christmas themed, except the Onward book which wasn't Christmasy at all. We still liked it. I can wait to use this again and again.

This is a great idea for an advent calendar. It’s a quality item. It’s Large and each story within is covered with wrapping paper. My kid’s “Christmas elf” brings them an advent calendar every year and this is definitely the best one so far. My kids will love it!

Cute but not a fan of the pictures all the books displayed on the back...kinda ruins the surprise and object of wrapping the books. Try to hide that part from your kids

Awesome advent calendar! I like that the books have some substance to them (they take about 5 minutes to read) and aren’t just picture books with a few words. My (almost) 3 year old loves coming down each morning to find out what book we get to read that day.

I was lucky to get last year's edition and loved unwrapping every book each day. Can't wait for this year.

I didn’t get a book in the day 17 spot - I haven’t figured out a way to get this without sending the whole thing back. Very frustrating!!

Huge and exciting to use! The stories are pretty long and wordy though. My 4yo cannot sit through a book in one sitting. Luckily, this is an advent calendar that can be used again and again. We will probably enjoy it more next Christmas.

Nice advent calendar with 24 books. Really gets your kids to know the Disney characters. The last two books were not specifically Christmas themed, but we're the plot lines for Frozen 2 and Onward.

Missing a book so I got 23 books and it arrived on Dec. 8 pretty late. Other than that I say it’s real big and was a nice idea

Cute books and love the count down but it has two #15’s and no #24.

Great concept, but came unwrapped with the books dislodged and 1 book missing.

My son loves it. He is 6 years old and loves having a bedtime story every night and loves guessing which one is next.

Our calendar was missing a book for the 7th day. It’s too late to replace or return.

Order came without 2 books and even that the package was untouched, the book inside had the middle broken

I wanted to love this. It seemed like a great alternative to candy and tiny toys that eventually get thrown away. Sadly this did not live up to my expectations. I thought these would be fun Christmas stories to read with my kids. Instead they’re long, some aren’t even related to Christmas, and my son lost interest quickly. I have the 2020 version. The first book is a Christmas Carol. Scrooge is Donald Duck, but the story is the same. The ghosts basically tell Scrooge he’ll die and burn in hell and tiny Tim will die. Fun stuff for a 3 year old to learn about in a kids Christmas story. The final book on Christmas Eve was a summary of the movie Onward. Not a Christmas version, just the regular movie. Their dad is dad, that’s fun to explain/think about on Christmas Eve. The giant book is beautiful, and finding the numbers and unwrapping a new book was great. But I dreaded reading these long awful stories every day to an uninterested kid (who normally loves books). Terrible book choices!
