This is a book about people who throw themselves away; losing themselves in the world of people and things. It is written for those who wish to find themselves again.

If you come to this work without a background in philosophy, you will learn a great deal. If you come to it after pacing labyrinths in search of philosophical understanding, you will discover the keys of enlightenment. The doors of perception are opened for beginner and seasoned seeker alike.

Who are you and what are you thinking about? Do you know why you have been born? Are you in charge of your life? Are you an Individual?

Mind, body and world speak to each other constantly. Are you involved in their dialogue?

What is your connection with Nature?

What is your connection with Beauty?

Should Aesthetics be considered the highest and most important philosophy, above Metaphysics, Epistemology and Ethics, etc?

Michael Tsarion’s concept of “Mysteria” and our deep-set antipathy to Nature, provide us with intriguing and cogent explanations for age-old existential dilemmas. His radical theory on the origin of the ego is nothing less than a theory of pathology. Whether your interest in philosophical and psychological subjects is recent or long term, Michael’s analysis will enhance your understanding of yourself and the world you occupy.

From Introduction...

...Chapter One looks at the pros and cons of world philosophy. Have our world and minds improved due to the centuries-old questioning of existence and reality? Are we right to heed what others says about reality? Why are there so many antagonistic attitudes, beliefs and schools of thought? Is it because there is no single, all-encompassing answer to life’s mysteries, or because appropriate questions are not asked? Why are the answers to questions about existence so elusive? What are the differences between philosophy and psychology, reason and belief, mind and matter; and can we be certain about anything we see, think and feel? Will we ever solve the problems that beset us?

Chapter Two introduces a philosophical outlook I refer to as Objectionism. When taken seriously, this philosophy compels us to radically reevaluate what we know about consciousness and the process of philosophical investigation. I also introduce you to the basic tenets of Personalism. This philosophy has commonalities with Perspectivism, Relativism and Pragmatism, but goes beyond them, centering the Imperial Self, rather than the pseudo-self, at the heart of existence and reality.

Chapter Three deals with the problem of God’s existence and ongoing rivalry between believers and non-believers. What causes the schism between purveyors of religious dogma and advocates of atheism, materialist scientists and metaphysicians? What does each side believe, and what are the arguments used by one side to checkmate the other?..

Read and Learn

This is definitely a transformative book. The depth into which the author dives into human psychology and the height to which he rises with a new form of philosophy, based on history, shows how we as a civilization have been drawn into a control mechanism that turns us into "disciples", that is to say, agents or slaves of a false self, leading us to live a false life, based on the machinations of a system that only wants to bunch us together into groups and factions, which essentially makes us tools of our own enslavement. The book acts almost like a map of the way out of this predicament.

An amazing analysis of existential philosophy

An amazing analysis of existential philosophy. The content is comprehensive, and the language is very accessible. I'm not an avid or fast reader, but I couldn't set this book down, and finished it in three days, which is very rare for me. As a late 20's male, I found this book at the perfect time in my life. This book helps you deprogram from all of the social and parental influences, so you can accurately chart you individual course towards self knowledge, and identifying a personal destiny. Moreover, this work invigorated me to relish in the combat of modern society, so as to identify the enemy in myself and others. The book is very well organized and well sited, allowing the reader to continue one's own research through the classical sources. This book pulls your mind into the stars, while grounding you in the wisdom of the body. After reading, you will greet the day with a new perspective, ala Dasien. Read this book, become more human.

Food for Thought

Information is well presented and easy to absorb/comprehend and just plain fascinating. Thank you Mr Tsarion for that! I did come across a few typos, but I understand this is self-published. I would love to edit just because that is my nature. Please note: The typos did not affect the content. Just a slight distraction. Whether you choose to believe or not is a personal matter, but there is no denying the massive research, attention to detail and availability of (free) material this author brings to our awareness. Prolific only begins to describe.

Cutting edge philosopher!

Cutting edge material from a Master philosopher/Taoist. I would personally like to thank Michael for this masterpiece based on Taoist thought and existential psychology. Not only has this book opened my eyes to deeper levels of reality, as practitioner Traditional Chinese Medicine this book is critical for understanding the philosophical thought behind some of the great Taoist sages that have created our incredible healing system. Anyone who wants to honestly examine themselves needs to read yet again another great works from Mr Tsarion!!!!

What I loved most about the book is that it weaves psychology ...

I am currently reading this book for the second time and will likely read it a third. For a background, I have been absorbed in Nietzsche and Kant and consider myself a beginner student of their work. Michael quotes them and critiques them throughout his book and his perspective is mind opening to say the least. What I loved most about the book is that it weaves psychology and philosophy together so well. Secondly, I appreciate that Michael not only presents philosophical and psychological concepts but actually provides a perspective to view, digest and critique the work of the old philosophical masters. Very refreshing perspective in my opinion.

Incredible

This book is a gift to humanity, as is its author. There may never have been a greater need for its presence than now and I am awed and grateful to have read it. I shall read it many times over. An absolute fount of wisdom, hermetically sealed from the clutches of evil by its very nature. Thank you, Michael.

A must-read book for anyone studying the consciousness of society

This book was amazing and highly appreciated, it offers a supreme collection of quotes and insights from various philosophers, scientists, psychologists, etc. all relevant to exploring the Mysterium. Such a great balance of multiple perspectives, including the author's with his vast history research.

Excellent book

Reading this now, delves into much detail of psychology of modern man compared to his ancestors before the "Age of Catastrophe" - which was the Younger Dryas period after the end of the Ice Age. You can learn a great deal about yourself from this book. Tsarion hits a home run with this one. Thanks Mike!

Real truth.

This book opened my mind up to the realm of philosophy and revealed its true importance to everyone of us in this world today. It reveals the ultimate source of evil, showing that the responsibility is in our hands, even if there are world ruling tyrants working to perpetuating it. Michael explains how it is the weakness in the ego, that was created as the result of the cataclysm that destroid atlantis and lemuria 13,000 years ago, that is the true source of all the problems we face today. This book shows that its about time we faced the truth, the real truth, and recognise when we are creating a mysterium to cover it up. Only if we look to ourselves for the solution, not to religion or anything of the like, will we find the answers.

Nature

What stood out to me was the importance of Nature in the care of Self. I realized how, over time and the business of life, I allowed myself to be drawn away from Nature and how important it is to get back to it if I want to Not be a part of the herd.

A wealth of knowledge and understanding

It's wonderful that Michael Tsarion shares his own findings and points out the knowledge of others. I have learned from Disciples of the Mysterium to give thanks for all that surrounds me because we (are) the miracle and the journey to becoming your self amidst a world of collective is the real occupation we should get dressed up and eat a good breakfast for on our way out the door every morning until one finds it.

Simply Outstanding & Elegant

Having read all of Michael Tsarion's books & viewing most of his video presentations, including his magnum opus Origins & Oracles box set, I am simply amazed after having read his "Disciples of the Mysterium". I believe that chapters Two & Nine are worth the price of admission alone as the wealth of meaningful information to be found therein is priceless. As one who whole-heartedly knows that we All are Artists (though currently most are repressed, oppressed, not to mention depressed) & having not lost complete sight of the perspective of a child in wondrous amazement of Nature & all of which it entails, I highly recommend this masterpiece of written dialogue. I give it Eleven stars just like the Marshall amplifier featured in the movie 'Spinal Tsp'. I hope everyone enjoys this journey with the many Sages through the Ages that Michael Tsarion brings so elegantly to life.

Must read for the modern thinking being ready to resolve the age old confusion of existence!

This read instructs the mind of man of how to see the misled intellect from the past and to resolve into the present truth of his eternal inheritance. The temple of selfhood awaits to crown the king of sovereignty! Let us awaken, restore and reclaim the kingdom and reign as rightful heirs to our supreme birthright!

Couple this with the excellent work he's done on The Path of the Fool ...

MTsar really helped me dive deeper into Selfhood with this book. Couple this with the excellent work he's done on The Path of the Fool series, and you'll really get places.

Everyone needs to read this book

Michael has done yet another incredible piece of work with this latest book. I recommend it to anyone that is interested in deeply contemplating the many facets of consciousness, the mind, the world situation and the true concept of what it means to be free and sovereign. We live in a world where real individuality, self knowledge, free thought, curiosity and creative expression are disappearing more and more by the week let alone by the year or decade. It's so imperative that work such as this is there to help a person examine their own heart and mind in order to bring about some type of insight and balance, as well as learning how to identify the sources of the problems we all face both individually and collectively. Excellent!

Very Enlightening

Groundbreaking. In my opinion, no one does a better job at compiling works from the many brilliant scholars and researchers throughout the ages than Michael Tsarion. A must read for anyone even remotely interested in doing inner work.

Perfect

Michael did the service of aggregating the works of the great proponents of Selfhood and Nature with his usual artistry, care and knack for clarity. Thank you, pints on me, O Captain!

Moving through my second reading since purchasing it in 2013, I can't recommend this strongly enough. If you are reading this don't wait any longer: dive in.

One of the best books I’ve read!

...and I’ve read MANY. Michael’s strength is in his ability to integrate and clearly articulate the best that both Western and Eastern philosophy have to offer.

Excellent

Excellent guide for seekers.

Reallity

Michael has put all his exceptional knowledge into this book to give people a chance to develop their self awareness and motivation to become who they really are as to who they have been misguided into thinking they are Anyone who is lost and still wondering should read this book it is easy to understand

Food for Thought

A refreshing and liberating tie-in of philosophy, ancient and modern, and of those exponents who recognise human freedom and autonomy.

True and Beautiful

For me...Michael says IT So many words I do not have But that which I think might point at The Way

A Lot to Ponder

This is not a book that you race through, but one that you take your time with. I highly recommend it...

Extremely interesting, even there where one does not agree with mr Tsarion's views. Something worthwile to re-read more than once in a while.

Not what you would expect.

Deeper understanding of various philosophies and control mechanisms.

FANTASTIC

I thoroughly enjoy reading Tsarion's work and Disciples is arguably my favourite book thus far. Michael is a master of taking deep philosophical concepts and communicating them in extremely comprehensible terms. This is what I would describe as heavy duty stuff that gets straight to the point. Its compelling, provocative, in your face and a catalyst for deeper self inquiry. A beacon of light that is sure to help sharpen the accuracy of ones moral compass, ones values and ones dharma. Bravo!

Buy it if you want to improve yourSELF

Very recommended to anybody interested in the "Great work"! Philosophy for you about you M.Tsar has done a amazing job with this book.

Five Stars

Very enlightening and awesome book. Tsarion encourages you to think for yourself.

a must read

We have not been privy to important information about the human experience. This book is eye-opening and the information should be widely distributed.

Always taking it to the next level

Michael writes with conviction on Existentialism. I see that he has been thinking about world philosophy not for months or even years but decades. His words show deep interest and his thoughts are far from superficial. He is right to voice concerns about tomorrow's world when, as he says, people will be robots instead of slaves. We can already see signs of what is to come. This book is more than a well-written, plainly-explained commentary on world philosophy; it offers the reader radical new philosophical outlooks - Personalism and Objectionism. I found out about this from his website of the same name that has been up for about a year now. I for one, see the sense in Michael's philosophy. Thanks Michael, for another life-changing book. Been waiting for this after I saw your interview in Bath.

Deep within the rabbit hole.

The case for ancestral cataclysm and psychological trauma is made even more lucidly here. The author has spoken many times about the nature of the ego and how it was born thousands of years ago. In his work on Atlantis he said the ego is all that is left of a more complete form of consciousness. In this book Michael shows how philosophers, and others who deal with consciousness, are ignoring the trauma problem. The book shows us a way out of the transhumanist nightmare to come. The chapter "What A Catastrophe," Michael explains that HUMAN 2.0 will see, feel, taste and touch but not EXIST. Posthuman Men will think but not EXIST. Every day we are being slammed with PR spin from grinning transhumanists working to create the perfect human slave-robot. Michael exposes how they misuse language to sign us up, with "TALISMANIC WORDS" such as Oneness, Freedom and Globalism. He shows how threadbare their theories about consciousness are. Great quotes from Terrence Mckenna and Julian Jaynes and other ignored teachers. Great material on Daoism or as Michael spells it "Taoism." I don't know of another book that gets so deep and thorough in only 9 chapters.

Excellent book

After reading it twice I have learned what I was wanting to know, more than I thought was there. I am an engineer, and a former U. S. Navy bandsman. I was on a rudimentary level with this information. The material is well written, well researched, and introduced me to many other writers, all in one book. I have much reading to do. Thank you.

So grateful for this masterpiece!

In this book Tsarion truly helps clear a path to freedom from the mental enslavement of science, religion, psychology, and philosophy, while never once attempting to instruct the reader how to walk that path. Reverence and respect for both the reader and the material give one a sense of awe and epiphany from start to finish. On a personal note; I have always considered myself to be a "seeker" of truth, but much of the time, in my seeking I find this person or that person attempting to assimilate me into their personal ideologies, leaving me more confused and less sane the further I travel into the realms of depth psychology and philosophy. This book has given me the opposite feeling - I actually believe I am more sane after reading it, almost as if while reading the book I unloaded a lifetime of mental and spiritual baggage, freeing me to just...be.

My comments

Disciples of the Mysterium is an epic undertaking which seeks to present a a theory concerning every individual who has ever been alive. Have you ever considered what you are behind your beliefs? Have you ever considered that your very being here has preceded every understanding, recollection, grandiose theory? Have you ever considered that the mess and beauty of the world literally is seeded from you? At last an author is asking the reader to turn not to his insights, but to himself as the fundament of all that occurs. And to become dubious of anything or anyone who diminishes the importance of this. This book collates many of the few daring men in world history who have cared enough for their uniqueness to try and convey a most unwordable and disconcerting message to man as a self aware being. The kind of thinking brought forth in this book is nothing less than a necessary rite of passage for anyone who wants to change anything in their world. Thanks go to Michael Tsarion and all of his work

On the top of the mountain you can survive with just this book!

If in one life time one could be so dedicated to the research of one's own reality and inner truth, if one would have the time to read all the amazing authors on the subject, one would indeed be blessed. What Mr. TSARION has done is to leave for all of us who haven't had the time (or courage), a unique manuscript that offers "le creme de la creme" on the subject and a uniquely in depth rendering of what some of the greatest minds have penned down. As such, Mr. Tsarion simply joins those great minds with one of his own, and truly, as unique and as gifted.

Another masterpiece from another great mind. Michael Tsarion is the 21st century equivalent ...

An in depth analysis of man's inner workings of the psyche and how it interacts with the human micro biological body and the greater macro external universe. A must read for anyone searching for any real meaning and purpose to life itself. Another masterpiece from another great mind. Michael Tsarion is the 21st century equivalent Socrates.

Interesting read !!!

This book is very different from any book I have read the philosophy it is very unique the way that the author explains truth and enlightenment can only be achieved through self is life changing nothing but positive things to say about the book : )

Excellent discourse on becoming oneself!

Awareness of self is crucial. Only then can the sorting begin on what one was taught and what one observes for oneself.

I like Michael Tsarion

I like Michael Tsarion, I think he's an intelligent individual that legitimately wants to help his fellow man and humanity down a path which is far more productive than , and does so by laboring over dry material to compile it into a more easily digestible and compact form. My only real complaint is his lack of proper citation, he could use a few pointers from Michael Parenti and Noam Chomsky. Also, while I haven't made it very far in this book (mainly due to that fact that I find myself checking his quotes and references myself), Tsarion is a bit like David Icke, you can agree with most everything he says until the subject of lizard people comes up. While I understand that the majority of Tsarion's work stems from his genetic manipulation, and ancient trauma theories, there's a lot that he offers in this book which can be divorced from his earlier work, and simply taken at face value without the need to buy into fanciful or provocative alternate history.
