Nice pics and good content

Well written thought provoking devotions...on many subjects. Gave a copy as a gift and ordered a copy for myself.

I purchased "Devotions for the Beach (and the Days You Wish You Were There)" last year, and absolutely LOVED it. When I saw there were two other books available in the same style and format (the other being "Devotions for the Garden"), I immediately purchased them, and they have not disappointed. These books take little objects, concepts, and everyday ordinary items (based on the title, of course), and weave them into devotionals. Each devotional starts with a Bible verse, and the devotional runs for a page and a half to two pages. They are easy to read in the morning because they aren't too long, and the end with a short prayer related to the devotional. I am looking forward to getting into this one fully. Since I have read the "Devotions for the Beach" twice, I suspect I will be able to read this one twice as well, and still get new things out of it each time.

Ive had better devotionals but this one is actually good.

I really enjoyed this devotional. I read it before bed at night and will re-read again in the future. I definitely recommend this to Christians of all ages and stages in life.

My wife saw one of these in a Cracker Barrel Restaurant. She was leafing through it so I asked what she thought of it. She told me she liked the two or three that she had read. Great guide to put life in perspective. Studying God's word should be as common as a front porch. It is a place to reflect, relax, and be real. It also can be a place of tears, laughter, togetherness, and also alone time. God's word is sufficient, and this book is a great reminder of God's goodness.

I love these devotionals. I have the Mountain and Lake ones as well. This Front Porch one just might be my favorite. It’s a quick read every day that includes a devotional, a scripture, and a prayer. Love it!

Stacy Edwards is extremely talented in painting rich word pictures. My wife and I love and use the book often, I even use the devotions as an opening to a class I teach on Sunday mornings and the class also agrees that her skill as a writer touches people's heart. So glad we found the book and the good price that Amazon affords has allowed me the opportunity to purchase several copies to give as gifts to family and friends.

My husband and I finished reading this devotional book together this week. It was actually a housewarming gift from my parents, but when we received it, we were still working through another book, so we waited a little bit to start it! Devotions from the Front Porch is part of a series of gift/devotional books published by Thomas Nelson. The chapters in this book were written by Stacy Edwards, and the greatest travesty, I think, is that her name is not on the cover! {WHAT!?!?!} But she wrote a BOOK, for Pete's sake, so I'm giving her some credit here. :) Hands down, this is a stunning gift book. Every single page has full color photographs of life on (or as seen from) the front porch. (Hence the name...) The photos are well done and extremely pleasing to the eye, and it's not often you get a book with beautiful pictures to match, so that is definitely a bonus. Each devotion begins with a Scripture verse, is followed by some of Stacy's thoughts, and ends with a little two-sentence prayer. {Those things are combined with the beautiful photograph to make a two page spread for each devotion.} Is it the deepest devotional book we've ever read? Not by a long shot. In fact, we came into this book after having studied Beth Moore together, so it was a pretty big change of depth. But please don't misinterpret that as a criticism. I think there is a time and place for deep devotional reading that takes you through big chunks of Scripture and devotional thoughts designed to make you consider the message thoroughly within your heart. But I also think there is a time and place for lighter reading that sparks a topical thought within you and leaves you feeling hopeful and uplifted. Some of us need a little bit of both of that in every day. Some are in a place where something light and short is all their hearts and attention spans can handle - and if that's you, that's okay! This book may not dive deep, but it's full of scripturally sound thoughts that combine real-life experience, and sometimes even a little humor. Each reading is completely relatable and makes for a perfectly sized reading-on-the-go. The topics center around home, neighborhood, family, coziness, safety, hospitality, and all the things you would associate with a front porch devotional. It really was a perfect housewarming gift, given the subject, and I love it that we were able to enjoy it together and can enjoy it together again later, when we come back to the book. A hardback book with a ribbon bookmark, combined with the color photographs, makes this a great choice to give for a hostess or housewarming gift!

Really liked this devotional and the stories that came along with it. Many came at just the right time as I was reading them. That happens! I used this one as a daily devotional. Nice pictures. I read this one on Kindle but I prefer print devotionals. Would make a great gift.

Best book to sit and relax and read each story. Every story you wondered where it was going to tie to God's word. It was amazing and to see things so simply, yet so deeply. Touched. I bought many copies to give to friends and for my mom on Mother's Day. Definitely a 5⭐️ recommendation.

Stacy Edwards easy writing style and spiritual insights about life's everyday circumstances are both thought provoking and uplifting. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading Devotions from the Front Porch!

This book is a great before bed or start your day read. Just long enough to get you thinking and not to long to have a devotion. I love that she shares her life in the writing on each page. A scripture before and a prayer to end the passage keeps you going. Very easy to read and understand. Thank you so much for sharing your talent in life, scripture, and the Lord.

This book is a very spiritual up lifting book written by a very great Christian Lady. I have known this lady since child hood and she has lived a good Christian life. I would recommend this book to any young lady with children. She has five young girls and still has time to write a book like this
