Ten years ago, The Harlequin Boys broke my heart.

I thought my life was complete with them at my side, the five of us against the world, having each other’s backs no matter what the cost.

I’d fight for them until my dying breath.

It’s just a shame they didn’t feel the same.

Once upon a time, my imperfect world shone bright with the light of four boys I would have killed for.

This is the story of how they destroyed me.

This is a 45k prequel novella to the Harlequin Crew series. These books have dark themes, violence, criminals, gangs, and an enemies to lovers romance that will make your heart pound, break it a little and then crush it beneath the boots of four black hearted men who our girl might just fall for anyway.

Deliciously Innocent - Or Is It?

Sixteen year old Rogue’s miserable life is only made bearable by the four boys she calls her own, the Harlequin boys: Fox, Maverick, Chase, and JJ. Living in a horrible group home in a crime-ridden city, Rogue and her boys love each other to the heavens and back and vow to be together - always. But when Rogue fights off a would-be rapist - who also happens to belong to the Harlequin gang that rules the area - she ends up killing him and then calling her boys out of desperation. The four boys’ only thoughts are of protecting Rogue at all costs … until they are forced to make a choice none of them saw coming and would change the fates of all of their lives. This novella is the prequel to Sinner’s Playground, the first installment in a brand new series from the amazing sisterly writing duo of Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. Every book by these ladies is stellar, and this delightful taste of Rogue and her boys does not disappoint! I LOVED it. The writing was tight, the characters fully developed, and the action non-stop. The four boys are all hot as hell, which is to be expected, and Rogue is a kick-butt chick in the making. What I loved about this novella is that it sets up the stage for the novel perfectly. Everyone is young and innocent - virgins, in fact. All four boys have always been in love with Rogue, but she has never even noticed. The air of waning childhood was executed beautifully, as was the climax of the novella that shoved all five of them over the cliff and into adulthood overnight. This book takes place 10 years prior to Sinner’s Playground and is critical to the full arc of the story. So don’t wait. Go read it today!

Start the series out right with this novella.

This story allows you to learn how the guys and Rouge go from a seemingly unbreakable bond to plots of revenge. Is the revenge due to an unbelievable betrayal or a misunderstanding self sacrifice? I will leave that for you to decide. Be prepared for your mind to be racing with lots of daydreams. I am anxiously wanting to know what has led to the attempted murder of Rouge. What type of men will Maverick, JJ, Chase and Fox be? I enjoyed some of the symbolisms the ladies write into this novella, from brief hints to their other series to the use of keys that must all be used together to open a vault. Will they all be able to move past their differences? I certainly can't wait for the rest of this series starting with Sinner's Playground.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

***** CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILER ***** This novella tells the story of Rogue and her 4 boys, the Harlequin boys. Their friendship and love for each other carries them through their rough upbringing, living in the shadows of the Harlequin Gang, that Fox and Maverick are destined to join. But one fateful night sets them all onto a different path that what they had hoped, their dreams of a future together, all 5 of them, crashing to the dust, leaving Rogue heartbroken and alone. Peckham and Valenti writes so fluently and engaging that my heart broke, right along with all of them. These girls can do no wrong and I can't wait to begin this series after this intro. I already love all these characters.

So glad I read this!

I am so glad that we got this little prequel novella! I personally read this book before diving into sinners playground and and so glad I did just cause I love a back story to what’s happened in stories... not to mention the fact that this prequel is absolutely amazing and makes me have so much love for rogue and even though I HATE what the guys did to her I understand why they did it. This book helps understand both sides and get in the mindset of what the past hurt is and where it all comes from.

Brilliant!

Wowza! This was such a tantalizing glimpse into the perils ahead for Rogue and her boys. There’s so much bad happening to poor Rogue, and the only good thing she has is her friends, Fox, Maverick, Chase and JJ. This book evoked all the feels in me, and I can’t wait to see what happens next for this group, especially with that little peek at the end of what’s coming! Only 6 days to wait, so let’s hope it doesn’t drive me crazy before then!

Blown Away

So this is not typically the kind of book I would go for, but I love these authors so I decided to check it out anyway. I'm so glad I did because I was blown away! Typically I'm not a fan of RH, but the groups' dynamic is already so good that I find I don't mind it. There isn't any steaminess yet in this prequel, really, which helps as well. I was also a bit put off at first by the fact that the characters are all around 16. I usually stick to books where characters are all adults, but since this was just a prequel it ended up being okay. The heroine, Rogue, is your typical badass in combat boots and I find I'm excited to read more of her and her boys' story!

Holy Hell that was a short but fun ride

Boy do these authors know how to make you fall in love with some pretty hot men and then take your heart and shatter it into a million pieces. But we keep coming back for more. If you love Reverse Harems and bad boys in gangs then pick this novella up. The first book in the Harlequin series comes out tomorrow Nov 13. You are going to want to pick that one up to because boy was that cliff hanger rough. I can't wait for Rogue to show the Harlequin boys just how it feels.

Another awesome series!

Get ready to fall in love again! Rogue and the bad boys of Sunset Cove will steal your heart. These authors always deliver!!

Holding my breath for more

An absolute perfect and well rounded prequel with an amazing start to what will likely be the RH worlds new favorite sinners!

What a stellar beginning

Sucked me right in from the first moment & left me aching for more.
