Good Ending to a long mystery

I have read other books by this author that I truly loved. This was not one of them. There was a lot of repetitive information. A couple of times she explained how each of the Brooklyn K-9 members met their significant other. This story is about Sasha and Bradley. Sasha has a stalker and what's scary about this stalker he look like the twin of the man that killed her mother 18 years ago. It's couldn't be him he was deceased. Bradley was the K-9 officer that had chased this guy twice. On top of trying to keep Sasha safe he was also trying to solve the Emery's murder which two place on the 20 anniversary of his parents murder. This story has a stalker, attempted murder, kidnapping, car bomb, and finally a closed case. Bradley and Sasha both open their hearts up to love.

Redundant

I enjoyed this series. Each book is about a different member of this team. You feel like you really get to know the characters and come to appreciate their relationships. I appreciate how God and His love for each person is shown and discussed amongst the characters. How the internal struggles each faces can be disproved through the light of His love love and grace He has for everyone. In this last book, the male lead's history was repeated several times, which made this particular book a bit clunky. There was also that missing piece of the characters facing their internal struggle in the light of who God is and how we are called to see ourselves through His eyes, to come to that knowledge that what we were struggling with can be laid at the foot of His cross.

Wonderful Series

I read every book in this series and was sorry to see it end. It was a very emotional, funny, sad and great series, I hope everyone who reads these stories loves them as much as I did....

Series Grand Finale

Why, yes, this is me mooning over the noble King, Belgian Malinois extraordinaire! The perfect protector and run buddy and a bit of a goofball on the side. What's not to love? Oh, sure, his two-legged partner is mighty fine too...for someone lacking a keen sense of smell and the ability to detect danger before it's too late to do anything about it! Bradley makes up for his lack of K-9 abilities by being finely tuned to King's every mood and willing to trust in the dog's uber spidey senses. :-) They make a formidable team and are just the officers to help Sasha figure out who is gunning (quite literally) for her. Only Sasha isn't a slouch and she has some cunning investigative skills and isn't afraid to use them. There's a bit of a more serious tone to this LIS as both hero and heroine have lost parents to violence. Bradley has coped by holding himself aloof and pouring all his time and energy into his policing as a way of making a difference. Sasha's approach to healing is more subtle, but effective. "She prayed for small successes. That God could use her to touch a heart, to ease a burden, to lift a spirit -- those were the things she wanted." (p 23) Love this contrast between these two and the dynamics it creates. This is the grand finale of the True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn continuity series and I'm thrilled to have all the t's crossed and the i's dotted on that seven month hunt for a killer! You don't need to have read the first six books to enjoy this one as Sasha's mystery takes precedence and the author does a great job of neatly catching readers up with the over-arcing suspense thread backstory so it all makes total sense. And there's a really sweet epilogue featuring the entire K-9 team and their significant others (including dogs!) celebrating Thanksgiving. And we still have two Christmas novellas to look forward to next month. Count me one happy reader.

Amazing

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Delayed Justice. This is the eighth book in the continuity series True Blue K-9 Unit:Brooklyn. I have really enjoyed this series and this a fine way to end the series. All the authors have done a wonderful job with this series. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith, I know you will love it. Journalist Sasha Eastman is being stalked by a man that looks just like the man who killed her mother. The only thing is that man died years ago. She had tried to interview Bradley for a story but he had refused her now he is the one who is trying to protect her. How can he protect her from a man who died in a shoot out with the police years ago? If he's still alive why hasn't he aged? Was she losing her mind? Bradley McGregor and his sister lost their parents. Their parents were murdered but the Killer Clown left the little four year old. Bradley hadn't been home. He had a terrible time with the media who thought he was the killer and now that a copy cat killer had come into the mix he has no use for reporters. Sasha is shot at right in front of him; although beautiful she is the last person he wants to spend time with but she is obviously in trouble. How do you protect her from a dead man? How does he keep his heart in tact as their attraction grows? A journey full of twists and turns. As they try to stay one step ahead of a cold blooded killer. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and He will guide you through this time of chaos.

Definitely a story worth your time

If like me you have not read any of the other stories in this series, rest assure that though there is a large cast of characters in the K-9 unit, this Christian, suspense romance, is a stand alone. Detective Bradley McGregor’s childhood was one no child should endure. With addicts as parents not caring about anything but the next fix, his sole goal was to keep his little sister happy and taken care of. When his parents were murdered, he was only 14 years old and a suspect. But caring people gave them a home, and nowadays is determined to be the best on his job as a detective in the Brooklyn K-9 unit. Sasha Eastman is a journalist who has a cable show delivering feeling good stories about individuals who have overcome adversities. She too has had losses, especially when her mother was murdered by her ex-lover. After a divorce and the death of her father, she has no desire to become involved with a man. But when someone wants her dead, someone who looks exactly like the man that killed her mother, 20 years ago, Bradley is determined to keep her safe. A job that seems almost impossible when the stalker continues his attempts to kill her. In the midst of this drama , feelings develop. Will Sasha finally open her heart to Bradley and take a chance at finding her HEA? If she does, will she survive the threats? The plot will keep you engage, and the characters well developed. Definitely a story well worth your time. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Harlequin and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Good as a standalone or as a series arc conclusion

Delayed Justice True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn By Shirlee McCoy All his life Detective Bradley McGregor has looked out for his little sister. But now she is getting ready to get married and leave their home behind. But since his parents' murder all those years ago he's felt the judgment of others - the blame that he could have been the one to do the deed. Years as an officer with PD have not lessened those feelings and he thinks nothing ever will. And there is no way that he is about to be interviewed by Sasha Eastman for her popular program. But when Sasha becomes the target of a man who looks just like her mother's killer Bradley will do all he can to keep her alive. He just never expected to connect with her on a personal level. But Sasha is nothing like he expected - she's not cynical and wants to uplift with her broadcast. But the question that has them most baffled is how a man who died more than a decade ago can be targeting Sasha. Time is a luxury they don't have to find the answers they are seeking. If you are looking for a page-turning, clean-read suspense with a touch of sweet romance look no further. Shirlee McCoy's Delayed Justice is the ninth book in the True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn series. Even though it is part of a series you can totally read this as a standalone book as each book features different characters as the main story focus. I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations other than that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Likable characters wrap up 2 cases

"Delayed Justice" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the eighth book in a series, but each novel can be read as a stand alone. Sasha's shot at by a man who looks just like the man who murdered her mother. Only, he's dead. The shooter's also bold: he shot at her right in front of Detective Bradley, a man that she wanted to interview for her TV show. Bradley's concerned that she'll use this opportunity to get the personal details about his difficult past, but she clearly needs his and his K-9's protection. The main characters worked hard to overcome difficult pasts. They were likable and reacted realistically to events. The suspense came from the repeated attempts to kill Sasha and their need to figure out who the attacker was and why he wanted to kill her. After wrapping up that case, Sasha used her investigative skills to help wrap up the ongoing murder investigation involving a recent murder that mirrored the murder of Bradley's parents. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting suspense. I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.

Enjoyed it

Sasha is being stalked by her mothers killer, thing is he's dead. Detective Bradley witnesses an attempt at Sasha's life and now is helping her figure out who this guy is and keep her protected. On the side he is working on a seven month case that eerily close to something that is close to him and he's on a mission to figure out who is behind it and finally get some justice. There is so much going around. First of all this book is a series can be done as a stand alone. I feel like I've been on and off with reading this series, when I happen to come across it I read it. To make things clear though this book is book eight it does well as a stand alone as well I don't feel like a missed anything. I loved getting to know these characters and their back stories. Both went though a similar hardship with the death of a family member and things that come with that. You can't help but to want these two to find their happily ever after. I love that there was so much going on to keep me the reader on my toes. I loved that there was never a dull moment and that Sasha was a resourceful women who when faced with a challenge or in danger can think on her toes. Overall great book I really enjoyed it.

Delayed Justice

An exciting and entertaining addition to the thrilling True Blue K-9 series. I have loved every installment of the series I have read, and the fact that there are few books in between here and there that I have missed have had no effect on the enjoyment of the stories or keeping up with the series. Detective Bradley McGregor finally gets his story, I have been anticipating this one, as Bradley and his little sister were in the middle of the continuing suspense plot that ran through the series. Bradley is a true hero, a person who is easy to admire and look up to. The way he raised his sister as just a child himself, the way he has handled himself throughout the difficult circumstances he has faced, he stands out with his steadfast character, his kindness, his generosity, his work ethics, his perseverance, and his faith the foundations of his fiber. And that so making Sasha Eastman his perfect destiny, soulmate, partner - whatever you want to call it, cause they share a lot of same attributes, as well as tragic life experiences. The suspense and deadly stalker kept the story on the edge. A couple of times Sasha's own actions put her in danger. There are two entwined suspense plots working on in this tale, and both of them get solved, questions are answered and cases wrapped up with the help of the whole unit. I have delighted in this multi-author series, in the sharp and vivid suspense, in the K-9 dogs and their bond with their partners, in the love stories that have developed, and the growth in their faith that many of the characters have experienced. Each book has delivered a fresh, unique tale that perfectly fits into the bigger picture of the series. A delight to recommend this story and the whole package the True Blue K-9 Unit makes ~ Four Spoons

Danger Around Every Corner!

I enjoyed getting to know Bradley McGregor better in this book. He was a side character in the book, Cold Case Pursuit, which comes before this one in the True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn continuity series. I really liked the dynamic between Sasha and Bradley. They had some things in common from their pasts, including having a parents who were murdered in a high profile manner. I liked that they could relate to each other regarding the way these events impacted them. A couple of times in the book, Sasha’s actions put her in direct harm, which was frustrating, however, it did make the book very exciting. Trying to discover the identity of the person trying to kill Sasha was definitely intense. The author wrapped up the series with this book, tying up the loose ends to a murder investigation that spanned the entire series. I read books seven and eight in this series and had no trouble following the story. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

What happened to Brandy?

I love this author and enjoyed every single book in this series. But, after hearing about "Andy" for all this time and finally seeing that it was a dog, Brandy - what happened to the dog? We are even told how much the little girl, Lucy, misses her friend "Andy" and when we finally realize who it is, we're even told how much the dog evidently misses Lucy because he's always running to the old house to look for her. I even read the epilogue twice thinking that maybe I missed something, but no, I didn't. Even the rescued stray Brooke got a happy ending along with the mistreated dogs the bad guy had in his backyard. So, I guess I'll make up my own ending for poor Brandy seeing as how it's alone now, and that Willow and Nate took the dog in for Lucy and gave it a loving home.

Action and Suspense

When human interest journalist Sasha Eastman is threatened by a man who looks strikingly like her mother's murderer, even though he was caught 20 years ago, Detective Bradley McGregor and his K-9, King, step up to protect her. A fast paced K-9 adventure that wraps up the True Blue K-9 Unit: Brooklyn Series. A quick read, filled with action, mystery and adventure. Because I had read the previous books in the series, the parts that were a continuation of the story thread running throughout the series, felt a little repetitive because of recapping. Overall, this was an enjoyable read, with good protagonists, faith, and plenty of action. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
