Deadly Undertow (Lantern Beach Mysteries Book 6)

Christy Barritt will keep you turning the pages. I received the first book in the series as a freebie. When I finished it I ordered the next one and before I knew it I bought all 6 books in the series and loved each one. I read all six books in less than 7 days. There is suspense, murder, gang related drug trafficking, humor- an ice cream that seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to playing music - even when its not turned on. You can read each book in the series as a stand alone but each one will not complete the whole story. Each one is better than the last and has a teaser at the end. There is human trafficking, romance, a lighthouse that plays a part in almost all the books. Some of the characters are just that - characters to love, laugh at, some that will make you wonder which side of the law they are really on. My kindle went everywhere with me while I was reading this series. No one asked me to read, review or say anything about these books. All opinions are my own and all I can say is that I was sorry to see the series to come to an end. I normally don't like series that go more than 3-4 books. I highly recommend the Lantern Beach series. WARNING!! You might lose some sleep or let a few errands go. I did.

Just finished this series and it was amazing! I never read books in a series back to back. I like to bide my time and plan the next enjoyment. But this Lantern Beach Mystery series was so good I devoured it all at one time. I couldn't wait to see what the next adventure for Cassidy and Ty and Mac and the crew would behold. And I was never disappointed. One thing I love about her books is they are densely packed with great stories. They don't need gratuitous profanity or titillating sexual scenes. And there aren't any! Clean and richly told. I read the Lantern Beach Series first and wish I'd done them in order but either way these are great stories. You'll fall in love with the characters and cheer them on when they face danger and evil. This is some of the most satisfying reading I've done in awhile.

From the first book, Hidden Currents, I have been waiting to see how Barritt as going to end the series. Luckily with Deadly Undertow, Cassidy's past finally catches up to her. Filled with a non-stop chase toward and away from the bad guys, Barritt fills a novel with enough suspense to keep me happy. The romance between Cassidy and Ty takes center stage on the fridges of the story as the tension strikes hotter and hotter. I really enjoyed this ending, even though Barritt verified who I figured who the head guy behind DH-7 was, but then again, I'm pretty good at solving mysteries. I thoroughly enjoyed the Lantern Beach series, and I can't wait to see what she plans to come up with next.

I'm so relieved to see these characters will continue in other books that spin off this series. Although I bought the first 5 parts on my Kindle, I now want to buy them as paperbacks and donate them to the local library so others can enjoy them and so the library will promote this writer. That's how much I enjoyed these books!

The thrilling conclusion of this series is non stop action that demands your attention right the the end. Cassidy’s ex shows up and gives her info that throws her into confusion. Has she trusted the right people? As things go down to the wire, we are left turning pages to find out if she’s going to succeed….getting through her confusion, trusting herself, and still coming out of this alive. I will say my suspicions played out. Fitting conclusion and a series I thoroughly enjoyed.

Cassidy came to Lantern Beach to go under cover of a large drug ring, DH-7, Raul was the head of the g. She suspected her old boy friend, Ryan the DA was overall money man and man that called the shots.. Her next door neighbor, Ty was coming to mean a lot to her. .Samuel was her contact and the police chief was helping her. I loved this book shows that good can triumph over evil.

Overall the story line was ok, but the author has a habit in this series of making her two stars appear to be stupid at times. I’m no detective or ex navy SEAL but I sure wouldn’t have fallen into the traps they did. Ty an ex terrorist hunter was made out to be naive, something I’m sure a navy SEAL is not. And Caddy, the detective? I sure wouldn’t want either of them protecting me. A good romantic yarn that you can flick through quickly if you don’t dwell on the detail. I liked Lantern Beach.

This has been such an amazing series. It’s full of mystery, romance, and great character development. The sense of humor mixed with suspense was so engaging. I love Cassidy and Ty’s adventures. The series finale was perfect and I’m so excited for more to the story. I wish I could live in Lantern Beach...love the area...Absolutely 5 stars!

I have every book in the series. Most excellent. But this one topped it off. A real heart stopper. I kid you not. I started it early this evening and absolutely could not put it down. Movie material for sure. So glad there is more to come! I got attached to Ty and Cassidy. You will too but read the whole series. You can read this as a stand alone thanks to a couple of flash back chapters but you would miss so much action. Thank you, C.B. for being such a great writer.

I wondered how all the many, many loose ends from the five prior books could possibly be tied up in one book to my satisfaction. But they did! Every detail was accounted for, the suspense was ratcheted up high, and the ending was perfect! I am sighing happily now. This was such a great series!

The sixth edition of the Lantern Beach series tied up all the loose ends. The leader of the drug gang was captured and exposed, handed over for prosecution, which will not go well for him. But wait, there's more! Apparently a spin off series will start based on our heroine's new job. Stay tuned!

This has been the best series and I’m sorry to see it end! Cassidy finally comes face to face with the gang leader she went undercover to bring down. Cassidy’s in total shock to discover who the head of the gang has been all along. Can Ty keep her safe with her new plan to end all this? I’ve loved all six books in this series and recommend the series to anyone who loves intense suspense mixed with romance and some humor!

INCREDIBLE conclusion to the greatest series I've read this year...ALL. THE. FEELS! There was a twist in this one that I didn't see coming, ANSWERS for everything come out, Cassidy faces her most dangerous mission yet to bring down the gang, and Mac & Ty are truly my heroes. Missed the ice cream truck in this one but WHAT a conclusion!! Loved every bit of it and so glad there is a spinoff coming soon :) :)

The Lantern Beach series didn't disappoint. While they could have been stand alone books, you want to read the whole series. Love the mystery. Love the writer. Keep them coming!

This series is proof that a mystery thriller can be written without bad language and raw sex scenes. I am a very serious reader and I recommend this series “Lantern Beach Mysteries “ with the promise of many hours filled with excitement.

This book is part of a fantastic series. Undercover detective, who has a hard time staying away from any criminal activity. Super, compelling stories. I start reading and can’t stop until the end. Then I’m longing for the next one.

I have enjoyed this series very much but found this last book slightly disappointing. Not sure why but it just didn’t seem to flow like the others. I suppose there was a surprise in the end, though I’d kind of guessed the “baddie” much earlier. Still a good series & I might start on the next series in the Lantern Beach Story

It's hard to find decent reading that can keep you wanting more. This whole series hooked me so much that I have purchased the next series by this author. That's a big deal because I usually stick to free books. There is a faith aspect that is integral but not preachy. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

I could not put this book down after the third chapter! This series leading up to this last book was so full of intrigue and suspence that there was no way I could put them down and go to sleep!

I could not put this series down. Even though I figured out the bad guy early in the series, Christy kept me second guessing myself. The ending really through me for a loop, but the twist was definitely worth waiting for! I am so looking forward to the new series spawned by this one.

Series has been enjoyable and worth the read. Rate other books a star more than this one which seems to prolong the action just to meet the required number of words. As such, it became unbearably predictable.

I always enjoy a Christy Barritt read, but this series has been special. I fell in love with the characters and how they cared for each other. My only complaint is that the story always ends too soon, and I find myself stalking Amazon waiting for the release of the next book in the series.

I loved the Lantern Beach Series from the beginning. This is a fitting ending. Better yet there's more to come can't wait. There are enough twists and turns to keep you literally on the edge of your seat.

I am a fan for life of Christy Barritt. Her stories are captivating and engaging. I recommend these books to anyone who is a fan of Dee Henderson, Lynette Eason, Dani Pettrey or Irene Hannon.

The whole series of Lantern Beach mysteries is such a well written set of stories with faith always being at the forefront of each story line. The characters will become your “friends” as Christie Barritt breathes life into each of the individuals.

It's best to read all six in the series in order to know and understand the history of each character.

I love this series I kinda started in the middle and then came back to number one. It is so good!

This book is fast paced with lots of twists and turns. Planted doubts in my mind about who was good and who wasn't. So happy that this will continue in two more series! Yeah, can't wait.

Like the others you simply cannot put it down. The mystery is intricate and so well written. The characters come to life and the ability to remind us all that faith is the key to life’s trials is slipped in so beautifully.

Great ending to the series... and I didn't mind that it was pretty obvious who the true leader of the gang was from the very first book but I was very surprised that our intrepid heroine didn't work it out. To me it was out of character that Cady did not work it out from the beginning that when a certain person (trying not to give it away with spoilers!) knew where the safe house was, she got attacked as soon as he left, leading to her flight to Lantern Beach in the first book. It was even harder to believe that she even suspected the other contender for even a moment given that this person had kept her safe while they other had nearly got her killed. The mole was right there and she didn't spot it - she acted too stupid to live by even hesitating in my view - as well as earlier when she allowed her fiancé to leave her when she knew enemies were all around in chapter 8. Even worse was just how trusting she was of the young girl who claimed her mother was drowning in that same chapter. It was a really stupid way to capture anyone anyway - too many things could've gone wrong - and one of those things that struck me as really wrong. It may just be the genre - but I thought it was just too ridiculous when there were so many character driven ways Barritt could have used to get to the same place while keeping everybody IN CHARACTER and not in TOO STUPID TO SURVIVE mode from Chapters 8 to 20. The dramatic ending so we could have a happily ever after at Lantern Beach rather than Seattle was totally in character on the other hand and quite believable. So there were seventeen really good chapters and twelve chapters where the author really should have kept Cady, Ty and our villains in character. Barritt has done it better in so many of her other novels.

Love this series. Have read each one so far. Love characters and plot twists.

Here, the story concludes, and brings a couple together, for good. Right and love prevail. Hoping my next reads will be as good.

Loved it! While I had the mastermind figured out, the motives came as a surprise. Kind of glad this series ended, though I can't wait for the TWO new spinoff series. Highly recommended!

What a great way to end this series. It has strong characters and of course a strong storyline. It is full of suspense followed by intrigue, mystery, faith, and twists and turns. And an unexpected way of ending the series.

At the risk of spoilers this book was a satisfying conclusion to the mysteries swirling around Cassidy. Thank Christy Barritt for researching and writing a believable story. Loved every minute!

Interesting police story with undercover work. Nice storyline and with some mystery. It played out that the prosecutor was the leader of the drug gang. That was an easy find.

Suspense, action and clean romance - loved it!

Great conclusion to the Lantern Beach series! Highly recommend this series for those who enjoy a clean, lightly edgy romantic mystery.

Easy to read with short chapters. Able to stop at the end of a chapter due to their length. Highly recommend this series and all books by Christy Barritt.

H, MY GOODNESS! I couldn't put this down. So many intense parts! I'm sad the story has ended. I knew it needed to resolve, but I've become so connected with these characters that I feel they're my friends and I want to continue to know what's happening in their lives. Now with that said, I have to tell you, this Last book in the series is the most suspenseful of them all! It also let us see Ty and Cassidy’s relationship go through more intense struggles. Can they survive? Something happens and their love for each other is put through the biggest test ever. Cassidy has to make so pretty tough decisions, not knowing if everyone she loves will be okay in the end. OKAY, get ready because Christy Barritt has really pulled a fast one on us. I can’t say what, because you just have to read it for yourself. It’s got suspense, action, intrigue, and sweet romance. This book kept my heart racing and I stayed up really late to finish it, but it's all very worth it! I received this book from the author and all opinions are my own.

My thoughts: DEADLY UNDERTOW is the sixth and final book in Ms. Barritt's Lantern Beach series, but she has started a new spinoff series set around that magical beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Cassidy's time undercover is coming to an end--as she always knew it would--and there is only one possible outcome. With her advisor gone missing and her ex-boyfriend suddenly showing up with stories she found unbelievable--but yet, maybe, possibly believable, she isn't quite sure what to think. But attempts on her life is escalating from an "accidental drowning" when she's caught in an undertow to an abduction, and more. Ever so much more. Some of it suspended the believability, but the action, the fast pace, the edge of your seat flow of the storytelling never diminished. Fans of Ms. Barritt know what to expect and DEADLY UNDERTOW as well as the other books in this series: Hidden Currents, Flood Watch, Storm Surge, Dangerous Waters, and Perilous Riptide deliver. (I suggest reading them in order) A great story, a great mystery, and plenty of drama. I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

Though it is bittersweet to see this series come to a close, I loved this final book! Cassidy was finally in the place of feeling settled, loved, and where she wanted to be, but still had the gang and the bounty on her head hanging over her life. Because she just couldn't stay away from solving mysteries and getting involved in people's lives on Lantern Beach, her life is once more put in danger, as her past catches up with her in the conclusion to this series. Although I had my "suspicious" of who she shouldn't trust and who was trustworthy, I still felt the apprehension of when Cassidy and Ty would figure it out, and what would happen to them in the meantime. I was so engrossed in this book that I couldn't put it down! I was on vacation, and picked it up to begin, and ended up finishing the book the same day! Great read, great conclusion. Deadly Undertow is the final book in the Lantern Beach series by Christy Barritt. This has been an exceptional series but the final book has turned up the intensity tenfold. An undercover assignment turns out to be a manipulated and contrived assignment with no possible good ending. Cassidy goes undercover and eventually moves to Lantern Beach to await the time she can return to Seattle to testify against the ruthless DH-7 gang members. Against her better judgment, she begins to fall in love with Ty, a former Navy Seal. The culmination of the series keeps the reader on the edge of their seat waiting to see who the good guys are and if they will be in time or if it is too late for Cassidy and Ty. I enjoyed this series very much and recommend it to others who are interested in inspirational suspense fiction.

This book concludes the Lantern Beach mysteries, but I hope the author will write more novels with these winning characters. Cassidy Livingston is still trying to keep a low profile in order to stay alive, but the danger seems to keep ramping up. 3.5 Stars I have enjoyed the Lantern Beach series and was anxious to read the Deadly Undertow, the final book. It was good but not as great as Books 2-5. I agree with the other reviewer regarding the person who was to blame for the situation she was in and Cassidy detective expertise missing it when the little girl came running for help. I kept saying, "don't go out there!" but she didn't listen. Other parts of the book, especially near the ending also left me thinking maybe this was an after thought. Perhaps the books should have ended at 5. I am not being critical, as I have been a fan of Christy Barritt for years and have several of her books. I just believe it could have been better.

The conclusion to the Lantern Beach Mysteries does not disappoint. As a matter of fact, this is a book that you can't put down!! If you like suspense with a touch of romance, this book is for you. In this installment, Cady/Cassidy has to face her past life and make decisions that will affect not only herself but her ex-Navy Seal boyfriend, Ty. As someone from her past comes to Lantern Beach, she has to decide who is telling the truth and if the best course of action is to leave Lantern Beach and Ty. I will warn you that the climax almost makes your heart stop - at least it did for me! For those who will miss Lantern Beach and the very interesting people who live there, I have a feeling that we will be hearing from them again. Deadly Undertow is book six and final book in the Latern Beach Series by Christy Barrity. What an exciting ending to a most wonderful series that keep the reader guessing right up to the very end what was going to happen. Though I hated to see this series come to an end I am excitedly anticipating what Christy will have up her sleeve for her readers with her next series. Deadly Undertow has so many twists, turns and unexpected happenings that keeps you turning page by page right up to the very end. I have so enjoyed reading Cassidy story. Then there is dreamy Ty what is not to say about him.

Deadly Undertow is the final novel in the Lantern Beach Mysteries series. I literally did not put it down from beginning to end. All questions are finally answered and it comes to an end in a way no one will see coming! As in the other books in the series, there's plenty of action, mystery, quirky characters, and of course the right amount of romance! I was so sad to see this series come to an end because it has been one of my favorites!! I was thrilled to get to the end of the book to find out that Christy Barritt is going to continue with a new series that centers around the other characters that readers fell in love with in Lantern Beach. Oh happy day!! I can't wait to read those! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I waited till they last one in this series to write a review because I couldn't put the books down!! I read all 6 of them in 2 days they're that good. I came upon Christy 's books by accident. I'm now starting on her next 2 series with lantern beach. I've put all of her books on my list to read. I'm a big thriller reader and I have a hard time getting interested in a book of it doesn't catch my attention by 15% of it being read. These may not be the biggest gripping books I've read but they got my interest and I didn't want to put them down so that tells me they're full of thrills.

Deadly Undertow is the conclusion to the Lantern Beach Mystery series and WOW – what a conclusion it was! It moves at a lightning fast pace and has many heart stopping moments. It's action-packed and impossible to put down. The intrigue and danger starts early in the book and doesn't let up. My anxiety level shot through the roof multiple times. I couldn't read it fast enough. I won't say much more because I don't want to spoil anything. If you haven't picked up a copy of Deadly Undertow yet, hurry and read it now! You won't be disappointed. This has been an absolutely fantastic series. I'm sad to see it end, but am super excited for what Christy Barritt has in store next.

Deadly Undertow, wraps up the series of Lantern beach, 6 books in all, number one was great then they got better and better and better , Christy Barritt wrapped it up very nice, tho i am sad to see it end. it ended just right awesome ending. i have read many of Christys books and i have never been disappointed, mysterys, thrillers, adventure, romance, she adds it all in her very clean books, i recommend her books highly, just wish i could give more stars, and this is my thoughts no one told me to say anything, i just want ever one to know how great her books are

I read this whole series in a weekend!! I'm so excited and I love how she's continued it through two other series as well and I've read those already too! I recommend ALL of them if you like a fast, easy, clean, cozy mystery....the characters of Lantern Beach will become part of your own circle and I wanted to pack a bag and jump in the car to go meet all of them (especially since in locale,their town is only a mere hope skip and a few ferry rides from me!) LOL! Wish my small town coastal community was as fun and entertaining as this one is....but alas that's why we read right? Hope you enjoy these books as much as I did!

This book was the perfect way to wrap up an incredible series. It truly has everything you could ever want - all six books in the series do! Quirky characters, that we get to watch grow and mature. A quaint coastal town. A sweet, lovable dog. Relationships that slowly take shape over time, with sweet ratic scenes that are neither tooushy, or unrealistic, and just great "Who Done It's" that will keep you thinking until the end. Out of all six books, this one is the one that you will want finish quickly. I stayed up until 5:00 am so I could finish!!

This is the final book of a wonderful series and it didn't disappoint! It had its own mystery of trying to figure out who Cassidy could trust and who was actually part of DH-7 the deadly drug gang. I had my suspicions from previous books. Everything came to light and to a satisfying conclusion for the series. I loved this series and recommend it if you want an engaging and heartwarming mystery series. Great books for the beach!

This is the final book in this top notch suspenseful series. I didn’t want it to end. Cassidy comes head to head with the top man for DH-7 and it isn’t who we suspected at all!! She has to step out from under Ty’s protection to end this madness. Promise you will stay up all night reading this page turner. So sad to see this series end. I'm glad she's continuing it (in a way) with Lantern Beach PD. Can't wait! This book brought the series to it's conclusion, but did seem a bit hurried in places. Maybe it's just because I like to read, but I wanted it to last a bit longer. The climaxes of many of this author's books seem to do that though. They reach that point and then end quickly after. All in all she writes binge worthy series, and this one is no exception. I read all six books in less than a week! Keep up the good Christy!

I am glad to know I had figured out who the leak was from book one. I do think the author tried to keep that part of the Mystery going even after it was obvious who the leak was. I even had Ryan's last figured out but I didn't know about the uncle. This was an entertaining series, even if the Mystery was pretty obvious.

This is the last book in the Lantern Beach series. It is even better than the previous books. You think you can predict the ending, but once again, Barritt throws in a few twists and turns to keep you guessing. Suspenseful and exciting, you will want to read it all in one sitting. For fans of detective/suspense books and tv shows, this series is a must read.

I don't know if this was based on fact, but it could have been. In the midst of living a life for Christ comes a story that reminds us of the deadly evil all around us. The evil s are certainly fed by the drug trades. Christy did an awesome job of weaving the story and still ending on just the perfect note.

Each book connects with the rest but I got one out of order. They are so well written tho.,so it didn't matter i excitedly looked for answers to some details and all was fulfilled.. It is like one book. Some nights were sleepless tho as I couldn't put it down over the plot twists and danger the characters were in.

Quite a suspenseful and gritty last book in this series, and I LOVED it! Kept me reading into the late hours of the night with every new twist and turn. Sad to see the series end, but happy to know there will be a spin-off of continued life on Lantern Beach. I highly recommend this series and look forward to the next!

The trial is getting close and the attempts to keep Cassidy from testifying are ramping up. Caught in the crosshairs of betrayal and deceit, she's not sure who is friend or for. This is a good conclusion to this part of the Lantern Beach books, but I'm glad there will be more about the people and stories of Lantern Beach.

What I loved most about this series is that it kept me on my feet. Usually I can figure out the ending about half way through a mystery. This one was twisting and turning so I just had to keep reading to find out where it goes.

Well written. Just when you think you know who did the crime, it changes, with all the twists and turn that keep you ready all night ,just so you can find who did it and will everyone live through the mystery plot.

It wraps everything up nicely but still leaves a hunger to rejoin the beachy, exciting world of Cassidy, Ty, and their friends in Lantern Beach. I can't wait to read the first book in the Lantern Beach PD series in which Cassidy is the town's new police chief.

This is one of the best series I've read. I am so glad that Ryan got what was coming to him. I just knew Samuel wasn't the bad guy.
