Doesn't provide the information I was looking for.
Was a great into into charts, psychology, and terms, however all the examples were given for Options. This was very confusing for a beginner trader looking to strictly trade stocks. It really didn't give you the information on how to take the information that was provided for Options and apply it to a stock scenario. Author also emphasized what a trade plan should consist of, that you should back test it, and then move to trading it if it's valid, however never really went through any real world scenarios on how that actually looks or takes place. Author also gives zero information on how to set up scanners to find viable trades. Good beginner information on Terms, Psychology, and basic Charting, but lacks in actually getting you up to a point to trade. If you're not specifically looking at Options trading, I'd look for another book that is Stock related.
Develop a buy and sell strategy.
I have been a day trader for some 30 years. Picked up some of the basics from my dad before he passed. My dad was from the old school and had no computer background. He used to sit at his desk for hours to keep track of dividends and interest. Although 77, I consider myself the newer generation. At work I used two computers on a daily basis. The book was slow in the beginning. Been there, done that. Since I have never used charts or graphs in my buy/sell strategy, it was very interesting. I found the book somewhat complex in certain areas: margin (for me a gamble - never used, and graphs and charts. Although with a better understanding of these two areas, and some practice, the areas could prove to be a benefit to my bottom line. As of this review, I have only read half the book. The last half I'm sure will provide additional insights I will consider in my trading platform I retired after 42 years, having worked for the Feds as a District.Claims Investigator under the Federal Tort Claims Act originated by the Department of Justice. Today, I reside in Florida in an estate home located on a golf course. Has the stock market helped? A step in the right direction! Greg Kornacki
Awesome Book
My wife and I feel Troy is a brilliant trader and teacher. His day trading "Quick Start Guide" made it easier for us to understand the markets since we are beginners in day trading. Anyone can benefit from Troy's unique ideas and approach to day trading. Thank you Troy.
best book ever
This is the best trading book ive ever read and ive read alot.He takes you from a beginner trader all the way on up.He maps out how to put together trade plans and how to manage the trade. Also goes thru the mental part and how to treat this like a real business. This is a must have book period. If you ever wanted to trade this is where you need to start
Would not recommend for a person trying to learn how to day trade
I quote from the kindle version page 16 "An important Aim of this Book is to Discuss the psychological and emotional aspects of trading" I did not buy this book to talk about the stress that comes from day trading, or how to deal with it. I bought this book to learn how to day trade, to learn the techniques and tools used to day trade. The name after all is "day trading quick start guide".
If you want to learn and you are new to Options and Day Trading BUY THIS BOOK!
If you want to learn and you are new to Options and Day Trading BUY THIS BOOK! I highly recommend you buy this book before you spend a single dollar on coaching or classes. Build a solid foundation by doing your own research. This book does exactly that. If you have no experience or prior knowledge read this book. If you want a simple explanation of how the market works and how you can learn and earn, Read This Book! You want to start building and creating your own strategy, Read This Book! You will not be disappointed. Go into this with an open mind and all your questions will be answered. The book is well written and organized. Great examples and explanations.
STRUCTURE, the book puts day-trading into compartmental bit size pieces.
Overwhelm is easily achieved when taking on learning how to trade on wall street. After studying for 3 years in November, I found this book easy to follow, easy to understand, easy to apply and I'm looking forward to say easy to grow my business with. THANK YOU and GOD BLESS
Simple and fast trading strategy
I have read a friends copy of this book and am impressed with its simplicity
The 'Zen' of day trading for beginners
I thought that this might be the best book for beginning day traders that I have encountered. It covers introductions to both trading strategies and managing emotions. These are both the two most important factors in trading successfully. Jessie Livermore also admitted that the only time he lost money trading was when he allowed emotion to color his judgement. If you are new to this high pressure market then this book should be a great help to your success or the discovery that you are better suited to a different type of work.
Great book!
I've been sucked into the day trading life and wanted to make sure I knew everything I could before diving head first. Great book, it really helped me to understand everything.

Great book!
I've been sucked into the day trading life and wanted to make sure I knew everything I could before diving head first. Great book, it really helped me to understand everything.
So far ahead of me.
I started trading back in december of 2020 not really knowing too much. Buy low and sell high although due to most brokers alerting you about the day trades are hitting close to the 4 limit. I learned quickly that I more enjoy swing trading as it's less stressful for me. But so far in this book I have read a couple chapters (and will add more to this review once I finish it), and with that I have learned significantly that day trading is what I want to do eventually. First is growing my assets to meet requirements to day trade with the budget I have started my initial trading portfolio. Now with regards to the book. First I was realizing that day trading is a beast that I don't fully grasp or understand to the degree, yet. But I will say the first couple chapters I have read so far give you some insight and fundamentals to get you in the mindset of trading as a profession. I appreciate the attention to details. For example when I came to the idea of training as a source of income I just thought just that. I want money. But this book also gives you suggestions and questions to ask yourself as you go along your journey. I have then realized that in wanting to day trade one day that I just really enjoy number crunching and the rush of watching numbers go red and green. I definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in even just understanding the fundamentals as this will give you a lot to work with in improving yourself and your mindset going forward.
Finally, A Really Good Explanation of Day Trading
For the first time, I feel that I am understanding Day Trading and if I should try it or not. Written in plain English and written FOR ME - a totally clueless, uneducated in trading, reader. I got this book, because it's impossible to ignore the stock market right now with one high after another. Reading the headlines, I always feel so stupid for not being in the stock market right now. While the rest of the world is "locking down" and becoming homeless and broke, the stock market is riding high (apparently due to "Quantitative Easing") and making some people rich. This book is the first to make me ignore the headlines and seriously consider if I should try Day Trading.
Meh
The world of finance is so entrenched in the internet of things, I really didn't get anything more from the book than I did from the web. If someone is not Google friendly, the book works.
Great Trading book for beginners and more advanced
Love this book
Highlight what you need...
A lot of information but if you only want to learn about a certain topic this isn't the book for you. It literally covers 3 different forms of trading at the same time instead of having seperate sections. ... forget the rest
Entertaining
Entertaining read. That's it. Entertaining read.
Gets the job done
Informative, easy to understand, laymen’s terms
Great Read
Great introduction to the world of day trading.
Save your money , up to you
A lot of missing info , a lot of stuff I knew already from a simple google research , could save your money and do some googling
Meh.
Meh. Books are so overpriced. I read all the same info via google. Too bad I missed my return window.
Well worth the money
Very nice quality, great learning tool
Added Value
The Troy Noonan book is great, AND his publishing team, ClydeBank Media, really go out of their way to include nifty added-value perks. Thank you!

Your Guide to a Successful Career in Day Trading
Have you ever seriously considered the business of day trading? It is something I have considered but I have always had too many questions in need of answering. I have read a book or two on the subject and obtained some good insight, but those books can’t compare to Day Trading QuickStart Guide, a comprehensive book about the ins and outs of this business. This book is a startup guide to day trading and it’s ready to answer your questions and get you primed and pumped for a career as a day trader. The book discusses strategies, how to spot trends, how to execute different types of orders in the financial markets, and so on. The guide covers the common questions and concerns that day traders have and the common reasons why many end up failing and getting out of day trading far too soon. Certain themes come up again and again in this book. Among them are the importance of having a trading plan; testing your plan; running through simulated trades first, for practice; the fact that you will have losing trades no matter how good you are; the idea that day trading is all about making money and nothing else; etc. Along with these, traders need to realize the importance of not getting too confident. If you have followed your trade plan and have already hit your target profits for the day, then your best bet is to shutdown your computer and enjoy the rest of your day off from work. Too often, day traders will continue to trade and in doing so, they end up losing the profits they already made. This book is written in an outline format, with plenty of bullet points, graphs, tables, chapter recaps, and so forth. I like all of these additional aids and tools, but I admit that the graphs included in this book are many and at times, it can result in making the practice of day trading seem a little overwhelming, even intimidating. Several of these more technical chapters are good to use as references in the future. They are a bit much, yes, but the idea is to let the reader know that day trading isn’t a cake walk. You need to be disciplined and well- trained to know the optimal time to place an order and the optimal time to sell. I haven’t taken the plunge as a full-time day trader just yet, but when that time arrives, I am glad that I took the time to read the Day Trading QuickStart Guide. It has all the information you need to make a living in day trading and even several online tools you can access and download online to get you started. It’s an excellent guide to this lucrative yet risky business.
Now a more confident day trader
Very happy with the Day Trading Quick Start Guide, which has a refreshing approach. The author's writing is relaxed, yet direct, which helped take the stress out of learning the skills to make quality trading decisions. This quote from the introduction caught my attention and made me fell like I was reading the right book. He said, "I want to help you ask the right questions." Knowing the right questions helped me understand what I was missing in my trading. The author's extensive experience comes through his writing, which inspires confidence. He incorporates multiple aspects of trading giving the reader a full set of tools and a comprehensive plan. I'm a more confident and profitable trader after reading this book.
Great well balanced book!
Great well balanced book! Loaded with excellent foundational info, great plan of action, and actionable trading tactics. I can’t wait to try the Open Spaces approach.
it starts with very basic concepts...
reading in progress.... based on what I have read so far pros: the author took great patience to start the book with stories, examples and simple concept on day trading, this helps engage the readers and gradually lead you to the more complex materials cons: the pace of the book could be a bit faster, given that the author kind of repeats some of the concepts a couple of time in the first few chapters, it took a while to get to the more relevant and exciting part of the book
You don't know what you don't know
And I didn't know I knew so little about trading. This book is a great guide to get you started.
Easy To Read and Easy To Understand
This book is easy to understand. The provided database makes it fun to write queries. I just finished a beginning guide using MySQL and this guide using SQLite is just as great. The author is correct when he states that the SQL language is transferable to other RDBMS. I am beginning Chapter 6 and I am writing queries beyond what is listed in the book. I especially like the CASE statement. Again the author is correct - once you learn the syntax it's easy to write queries to extract useful data. This book has been helpful in my quest to become proficient in RDBMS. Words escape me in describing how helpful this book is to learning SQL. Thanks for a well written book.
Better communications with my broker!
This book refreshed and more than adequately enhanced my investing knowledge. Easy to read and understand, but more in depth and useable than the dummies format. It has made my communications with my broker easier and more efficient. I'm certain that my broker was able to appreciate my investment in this book.
Insightful, Practical and Fun To Read
This book is well-written but with an approachable, friendly tone. It is full of practical advice and very well-organized, covering a detailed overview of the basics of daytrading and the various markets. I started to read it and found it hard to put down. It does not contain empty promises and get-rich-quick schemes but describes the preparation, temperament and goal-setting necessary to succeed in day trading. I thought this book was an outstanding introduction to day trading and what it takes to be a trader.
An excellent guide of day trading basics and strategies.
I learned how to better read charts, decide entry and exit timing and strategies to pick stocks to trade in.
Comprehensive primer
A useful primer on basic investing concepts that are easily grasped for the novice or uninitiated. For a sophisticated investor, it falls short of insight but that was not likely it’s intention. On commercial property, coverage is still basic but a teaser for deeper examination, which is not available in this book. Overall, the book is well organized and accessible with clear writing without arcane diversions. An interested novice investor can use the information but needs to explore more research and speak directly with investors to appreciate local markets at priorities, especially with commercial real estate. Good advice is offered about navigating municipal interests and being actively involved in these debates and exchanges. Other assistance is offered by the author from related external site but these were not reviewed.
It's a good book but needs a bit more connection to the online guide it is companioned to
I like the book, it's well written and very informative, but I'm finding that it's not coinciding well with the online guide that comes with the book. It's causing confusion now as I am in the middle of my Business Plan and need to go elsewhere to finish my plan. It's not for someone with no business background.
