Before I read this book, I didn't know a book could give off so much energy that it had the ability to create a specific feeling in me. This one adapted to being my "home". Now, that may sound weird, and I may have not worded it the best - but that is exactly what this book is for me. Home. Whenever I am feeling anxious, find myself in a situation I need a distraction in, need some words of encouragement - I pull it out. It is in my bag at all times, definitely looks worn - pages are folded, paragraphs are notated...Jaiya has a way of reaching your soul and mind more acutely than any author I've ever come across. I needed to read this book and I will continue to read it whenever I am at unease or need reminding. This is for anyone who suffers from negative self talk, anxiety in all forms, feels lost, confused...all of the above. It's soul food. And if you are reading this...chances are, you're hungry for it. I'm smiling because I want to shout to the world just how special this book is! It is one of a kind.

Wow! I know the story about Jesus and the woman at the well. And as followers to drink from the living water. This book I get so excited to open through my day. Learning to LOVE myself like I never have before. Jaiya John’s writing captivated my attention to look more and deeper into myself and love myself like know one else can. “Daughter,spend your life loving, not seeking Love. Ocean need not seek water”! I will get one for my teenage daughter! For any woman. I would gift this book. It’s send simplicity yet deep connection it makes to one’s own heart! Fabulous! A+++++

This book is filled with amazing knowledge and wisdom as Dr. John obviously has much experience dealing with the issues that women and girls struggle with. In fact, reading this book makes me realize even more how toxic our society is and the expectations placed on kids and adults alike regarding what is “normal”. Especially for girls and women, as the book points out…these beliefs and expectations come from a society that relies on girl’s/women’s feelings of insecurity and inferiority to make money. I will never understand the greed that is rampant and just how bad it really is. As I was reading this book I thought repeatedly what a gift this book would be to countless people, while at the same time thinking of specific people who will be helped by it tremendously. And although this book appears to be targeted primarily to girls and women, I feel it should be read by boys and men as well because this book is filled with amazing insight and spiritual messages that need to be heard by all. It would also help boys and men to gain a much better understanding of the issues that the girls and women in their lives are facing which could only strengthen their relationships (i.e. their daughters, wives, girlfriends, sisters, mothers, etc.). At times I was a little confused if it was the old man talking the whole time or not, but doesn't really matter...the information, spiritual messages, and insight were what was most important to me. Anyway, I just wanted to try and give back by posting this review to encourage people to read this book. Dr. John’s writing, message, and capacity to relate to others and their struggles is truly a gift!

My soul leaped up in my throat with joy when I read the following by Jaiya John, “Silence is a power source for your soul, a midwife gifted at helping you birth peace. Make sure to feed your soul plenty of inner silence, one of its favorite foods. Give a flower water and it blossoms. Give your soul silence and it does the same. Hear your soul say, Give me silence and I will give you peace.” Coming back from a week of more silence, more rest, and more solitude I strongly resonate with this sentiment- and can’t recommend this book by Jaiya John more. Beautifully crafted and healing to read. Truly a gift to your soul.

This book was suggested to me before all this madness happened, but amidst the chaos that is 2020, it has truly been an anchor to keep me tethered to reality now a days. Every word is medicinal and I truly feel a little stronger after reading it. Thank you Jaiya for spreading your love :)

Such a beautiful book with a universal message that will resonate with women of all ages, backgrounds and cultures. For those young girls who lack supportive role models in their life, Dr. John presents heartfelt teachings about how to live authentically as a woman. His writing reminds me of Khalil Gibran's The Prophet, but Dr. John has his own unique style filled with alliteration and a poetic play of words. Truly a joy to read. You will need a lot of time to digest and fully integrate this book. Highly recommended!

Soulful healing knows no bounds. This is a life changing book in my soulful journey. I cannot put this book down. It is beautiful and speaks to my entire being. I am grateful it has topical subtitles because I turn to sections as I need to very easily. I have a soul sister in my life and this book has further captured us both to discuss, encourage and uplift one another. Thank you Jaiya for your wonderfully connecting work in a time people are attempting to disconnect...all I can do is stay in my lane and rise up to my level of awareness.

I'm so glad I came to this well. This is the type of book that makes you take pause frequently, with eyes closed, while ingesting the nourishment that is these words. Some sentences I repeated to myself over and over, just amazed at how they had been crafted. Words that deserve to be journaled, written through the fog on the bathroom mirror...meditated upon. Get the book. Read it. Bit by bit, or all in one gulp. I promise, you will have moments where peace will descend and settle into your every cell.

What a beautiful book. What a beautiful message. I have only read about 15 pages or so. I received this book yesterday and I love it already. I loved the book before I ever opened it. The energy and love you can feel it from the author. This is an amazing gift for myself. I can not wait to order more for the women in my life. The author is amazing too and writes back personally to DM's on IG. Jaiya John is gracious and a beautiful soul. Grateful he created such an inspiring book for all women and girls to read.

I can not recommend this book enough, especially if you are one seeking more self acceptance, freedom and confidence to be your true self.. I’m flipping the script of “self love” being “selfish” or “cocky” and this book has given me so much insight on how to do that. I will be gifting this book to my dearest friends for years to come. Do yourself a favor and get this book, get a highlighter, a cup of your favorite beverage and a comfy chair! Dig in! 💫❤️

I picked up this book to help me in my healing journey and it did not disappoint. John Jaiya has a way of writing that helps one heal by finding peace within. There are numerous gems of inspiration and affirmation to be found—the many highlights in my book are a testimony to that!—but I especially love the way he ends with “savor the miracle that is your soul.” If you’re looking for a book to help with soul healing, this is one to add to your collection.

The messages in this book are exactly what myself and many other females need to hear. Dr. John articulates affirmations to the heart of a silenced/shamed/abandoned/exploited girl/woman. I recommend it to any female, whole or not, especially the nots, and to males for good measure and understanding of the female plight. It’s ground-breaking and I see it making waves of change for generations to come.

This author, Jaiya John, literally Blows. Me. Away. Insightful, wise, creative, calming, constructive. His words flow eloquently and portray all of the feelings I would like to express, but have never known how to. Much praise for this unique artist and his beuriful work!

This book filled my heart with so much self love. It brought up so much healing I didn’t even know I needed. Some pages left me in tears. Jaiya John dug deep into the roots of our femininity and power as women. I highly recommend it for every daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and woman out there who desires to deeply and wholly know herself.

Every time I pick up this book, it brings me to tears. Not always tears of sorrow (although those have happened), but tears from feeling so seen, spoken to, and understand. This is a truly beautiful book and its poetic language touches a place in you that is sometimes hard to reach. Anyone who wants to nurture their inner feminine could benefit from reading these words!

I can tell this was written from the heart with pure intention! This book is everything I needed and I will keep returning to as a reminder of my divinity and sacredness as a woman. Beautifully written love letter for women of color by a man of color. I highly recommend, especially in today’s climate.

So wonderful.... Reading it more than once

I loved the positivity of each section or breakdown of diffent parts of our life and time we have here on Earth. He speaks so beutifully to the soul and it is so easy to pick up and put down whenever youre needing guidance or uplifting words. Like nothing I have ever read. Excited to start his next novel.

Sisters, I never recommend books because I feel like what you’re meant to read will find you. However THIS book, my God this book. If you are a woman like me that grew up without a father figure please read this book. My heart is feeling burst open with love and oh so supported by the divine masculine with each word I mouth. Thank you! What a gift.

Sometimes as women, we tend to water and care for everyone's garden. This book does a great job of nourishing the gardener.

It makes a few good points here and there but mostly i found it really useless. It felt more like someones notes that go in every direction that didn't really lead to a point.

A week or so ago a friend of mine shared a post of Jaiya John's on Instagram and it resonated so deeply I rushed to Amazon to download some of his books. THIS ONE lands like the words so many daughters longed to hear from their fathers and in the absence of that, move on to long to hear from the Divine Masculine/Father God/however you relate to that aspect of The Divine. It literally feels heaven sent and is so healing to soak in. In a world where so many women are aching to be seen and met by the men in their lives, and so many men's voices in this world are laced with spiritual narcissism, Jaiya John's voice transmits a purity, strength and truth that gives so much more than hope. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this book! It reached me at the most perfect time and it's such a beautiful honoring of the fragile yet string feminine soul! Every chapter nurtures and delights, reminding me of my own magnificence and radiant light. I've never read a book so full of love, self care and soul medicine. Daughter Drink this Water is clearly a Divine channeling of reminders for the feminine psyche. Through it, the wounds of womanhood, are validated, held and soothed. And women are guided to the recollection of both their primal and spiritual innate wisdom. There is a sacred love pouring through each word, affirming our divine gifts and calling us to lay down everything blocking the way to living and expressing them. It is a Sacred whisper in the ear of women's dreaming calling them to awaken at last. The journey I took while listening to the audio was Beautiful and heartwrenching and opening, and healing. Tears of affirmation streamed down my face.I felt as though the Divine were caressing my hair.

These words come from somewhere deep beyond understanding. As a woman, I have spun thoughts and dreams, wishes and promises to the world through teaching, prayers and intention. Somehow, it is as if Jaiya John heard those yearnings from all of us. The hope that someone listened- outside of words, but to the call of every woman's heart, has appeared in a clear message. If I would have had this as a young girl, my journey perhaps would have carried more safety. Now, as the mother of a beautiful twenty two year old son, I appreciate the wisdom I earned. I will gift this book to my boy so he will be a man who heals, sees, and honors the women he will love. And, someday, as a father, perhaps he will start at the beginning.

This book is a a fountain of life, love and wisdom . Each page sparks healing, happiness, laughter and tears. It evokes more understand of self and people that color each, individual lives. I really enjoyed being so moved by these words seamlessly sown together to show the reader how worthy, whole, capable and inherently whole and perfect she/they/we already are. This really is medicine for the soul. I shared a lot of the passages I found especially touching on social media because I was so moved by them, and felt others needed to have a taste of this nourishment. Would highly recommend this soulful read.

The experience of reading "daughter drink this water" is akin to that of stepping into a cool river after an exhausting and lonely walk through a burnt land. My body feels like it can breathe again. My heart is soothed, my mind purified and my soul revived. Watch out world, these words are setting me free. I profoundly recommend. And I am profoundly grateful.
