In the introduction, the author speaks of waking up in the middle of the night to a realization she needs to take control of her life. She also speaks of crying on the plane ride to Cape Town for her first solo trip. A few years later, I too remember waking up in a panic after having booked my first trip abroad. I reached out to Nastasia, the founder of the Dame Traveler community, and she gave me the insight and the courage I needed to continue. This book is not just a collection of stunning photos from around the world. It’s a testament to what it means to be brave and to step outside the box. It’s about pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone to really experience something incredible. I highly recommend this book to all wandering and wondering minds.

I met the author while we were both nursing students in Chicago in different nursing schools. She is a true gem and her personality shows through book! The collection of photos from other travelers is a great escape during this quarantine.

If this book doesn’t instantly give you the travel bug, I’m not sure what else will! More than that, you can see the effort and passion put forth by the author. Her story is incredibly inspiring - as are all the captions attached to the stunning photographs. I’m always looking for travel destinations and I’ve already marked new places I want to visit in the book, while learning some helpful travel tips. I hope she comes out with more!!

Not only does it provide amazing photos from around the world, but the author wrote many helpful tips to protect our safety when traveling. This book was inspirational to all women. What an inspiring book! Everything you need to know about going out on your own and seeking a life of adventure is right in this book. Nastasia does an amazing job pairing vibrant photos with descriptive summaries, suggestions and learnings. A must for any inspiring female traveler! Would make for a great gift or coffee table book.

This is not a collection of the travel experiences of a diverse range of women. Not at all. I saw only one older woman depicted and only her head is seen, at a distance; very few “large” women, and a homogeneity in the photos that the author should be ashamed of: Instagram-glammed young women in (usually) whimsical dresses. Author: if you want to depict women travelers, do a better job than this. Look up one generation, then one more. They traveled alone before you were born. And women come in all sizes and shapes and generally pose in clothes they’re traveling in, not the Instagram closet picks. Back this book goes. It just makes THIS experience traveler roll my eyes.

This book is a collection of beautiful images from around the world, but what's most important to note is that the women featured in this book exude passion, creativity, and are women that I would love to be friends with. Their eye to see something more than a pretty view and be able to capture it, in which most of these places I feel like I'm there too. Love this book and have already gifted a few to friends!

Not your ordinary travel book. Dame Traveler combines art, architecture, culture and food with travel. Nastasia has a keen eye for off-the-beaten-path treasures as well as a unique take on the world’s better known sites. Her photography is like taking a walk down memory lane as well as a reminder of all the places I have yet to explore. I appreciate the focus on women travelers, especially those brave enough to explore on their own. My friend and I can’t wait to begin our bucket list of travels with Dame Traveler.

I have long been a fan of Dame Traveler, so I was thrilled when I heard the book was in the works! This coffee table book is not only gorgeous, but inspirational. I love that it features photos from all female travelers with a blurb from them about the importance of travel to them and/or where the photo was taken. Couldn't be more thrilled to travel from my couch with these ladies any time I want.
