Every possible source of referencing is covered in this book

Essential for all university students. Whether you believe you'll only be using one referencing style, or not, you will probably find the requirement to use different styles for your various subjects, and even due to lecturers' individual preferences. Take my word for it, you will lose marks for bad or inappropriate referencing, and you will certainly be questioned about plagiarism if you do not reference things you've quoted in your assignments. This book is a great investment. And it's it's vital. A nice size (approx 7.5" x 10.25"), the first 28 pages of the book cover all of the essential and important aspects to referencing. The pages following that cover the eight, main referencing styles used in British unis. I've shown below the number of pages in the book dedicated to them, and (in brackets) the faculties that typically use them; Harvard has by far the most subjects. 83 pages: Harvard (Archaeology, Biochemistry, Biology, Economics, Environment, Health Sciences, Management, Philosophy, Politics, Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work, Theatre, and Film & Television) / 23 pages: APA (Education, Language & Linguistic Science, and Psychology) / 20 pages: Chicago (English, History, History of Art, and Music) / 16 pages: IEEE (Computer Science and Electronics) / 15 pages: MHRA (English, Film and Television, Humanities, Literature, and Modern Languages) / 21 pages: MLA (English, and Philosophy) / 19 pages: OSCOLA (Law) / 13 pages: Vancouver (Biochemistry, and Biology).

Google is better than this book

Bought this book as it was recommended by a tutor. The book itself is full of useful information, however I do not think that you need this book as there are many websites that cite for you making this redundant. It has a premium price tag due to it being an "academic book" and I do not feel this book has helped me.

APA referencing now out of date

I have purchased this book for university, some subjects require Harvard referencing an this book is spot on for that, however, it has recently come to light that the APA section is now out of date since the introduction of APA 7th edition. The book only refers to APA 6th edition. If Harvard is what you need then this book is easy to follow and structured in a logical way.

Could do it on Google

Very complicated method of looking up how to reference.... Much easier to Google. Bought on recommendation of fellow student. This person's recommendations are no longer taken into account.

Recommended to all higher education students; easy to follow

A massive book, very overwhelming when first looked at it. However it holds all the referencing, in text citation for websites, books, legislations, journals etc and has the 11th Harvard referencing which I have to use for my essay writing during my nursing and health science course.

An academic writing must have!

I ordered this item for someone who is going to university. The book comes highly recommended and I have also made use of my own copy for my studies. An easy to use, complete guide on how to reference anything under the sun. Also received it very quickly.

Lifesaver

This has been an absolute lifesaver for my uni work. First time academic writing in a lot of years and I was absolutely clueless about citations and references - this explains it so well and the book lives right next to my desk so I can pick it up anytime I’m in the middle of an essay and stressing about the referencing!!

Good to have at hand

Got this as my uni is moving to Cite them right for one of my two last modules. Found it really easy to use with the book, as I tend to write my draft essays, instead of using Cite them Right online version.

Cite Them Right very handy text book !

Great text book good clear guide to referencing specially for someone who is a novice

Really helpful

Much needed for writing references/bibliographies. A little fathy to navigate and find the correct page at times but essential for my undergraduate course and well worth having
