Great Resource
This book has been a great asset in my play therapy journey. There is also a class online by this author that guides you through the book! Very helpful.
Damaged Cover
4 stars due to quality of book. It was supposed to be new but came with a noticeable scratch and water damage to the top of the cover (you can see in pictures). The pages seem to all be fine as far as I can tell, but I’ll know more as I read through the book. Disappointed but I want to start reading and don’t want to wait a while to return and reorder elsewhere.
So good!
This is SO GOOD. I have used several of the strategies already and cannot wait to continue implementing new ideas into sessions.
Easy read. Able to implement with clients after read.
Helpful first read for those therapists looking for a firm, evidence-based model for play therapy with children 10 and under. Very concise, and easily able to begin implementing with clients. I recommend further training through NIRE (for the Gurney variation) or North Texas University (for the Landreth variation).
It is concise and easy to read
This well-written book is a must read for play therapy professionals. It is concise and easy to read, yet is quite inclusive and detailed in presentation. I have found the answer to many a play therapy question within this book and highly recommend it. I especially enjoyed the integration of the traditional Axline principles with the contemporary interpretations and case studies.
Great book
This is a great book for anyone working with children, but especially those who plan to do child centered play therapy work. The book offers very real, concrete steps and even offers exact wording for things such as limit setting. I know I will re-read this again and again as I grow as a professional.
Excellent addition to play therapy library
I chose this most recent book on child-centered play therapy from the A4PT e-learning site. It answered the need to report conclusions drawn from actual clinical research, as well as helped me view my practice of CCPT with corroborating and new eyes.
As a new clinician it really helped me to see that this model really fits best with my style
I practically read this book in one night. As a new clinician it really helped me to see that this model really fits best with my style. Great examples and explainations. Just excellent.
Great Information
I had taken into account the consideration of the author in CCPT, and had been of much help. It have detailed "real life" examples of the procedures and also a lot of information regarding Therapeutic aproaches similar to CCPT
Five Stars
Great book...used it for a group project we had to do regarding Play Therapy. Very helpful and informative.
