Fun Book

My 13 month old girl is obsessed with cats, and she loves this book. We “read” the book a few times a day. She especially loves the moving parts - cat waving its tail, little kitten hiding inside of the boot, cat trying to catch a fish. Every page has a “surprise,” there is a lot to touch, to move, and there are a lot of cats. I am glad I bought it.

Destroyed in minutes

I want to give this a higher rating because my son honestly loves it, but because they didn't put any of the clear protectors on the cat arms and tails in this book (dance has covers on all moving parts) my 16 month old destroyed it within minutes. We've had it for two days now and there are 3 page covered in clear packing tape and I've had to channel my inner MacGyver to fix one of the cat arms. Love these books, but this one didn't think things through before putting it out.

Cute, interactive book!

My son received the "MOO" book for his 1st birthday and loved it to pieces - three pieces, to be exact. I have taped that thing back together too many times! I was looking online to buy it again when I saw the CAT book. We have a Siamese that looks just like the mischievous fellow on the cover. My son went bonkers when I handed it to him. The book is very well made, pictures are of live cats in action, not drawings, and the pages are thick. Our only issue is that the pull tabs that make the cat's paw move, kitten pop out of the boot, etc., are delicate and the moving cat parts aren't behind cellophane. This book is definitely made for a child that understands books are delicate. My son is 2 so we supervise while enjoying this book and keep it tucked away during rough housing.

Lovely cat book!

This is a beautifully crafted book of interactive cat photographs. My little granddaughter loves it and I have given several as gifts, over the years. The price is reasonable and I highly recommend this particular book, as well as the others in the series.

great entertaining book for years to come

we have the dog version and our son loves it (9months old). he's sort of destroyed some of the book by bending it but he loves these books so much so we now have the cat one and the dog one. dog one is better in my opinion but these are still great. quality is very good.

Still interesting

it has been almost 3 months and my 1.5 yr old daughter still loves this picture before bedtime. I particularly love how the pages were updated so that the pull and push features do not come out of the book and are easier to play with. Overall an excellent purchase and still doesn't get old for her!

Clever and cute

We love this book and "Dog." My daughter is somewhat obsessed with both animal species right now, so I hopped on amazon to find a good book of photographs. This is that plus so much more. It's wonderfully interactive and the text is clever and cute. We're looking into the others in series, as this is a regular read in our household.

Very cute little book.

I bought this book as part of a gift for my daughter. She is very into animals and from time to time will fixate on one. So, I decided to get her a few books about cats. These are great for a little reader. My daughter is captivated by the pictures and she also enjoys having the story read to her. You can't go wrong buying books for kids.

Good for a toddler

At 10 months my daughter became fascinated with our house cat but he wouldn't sit around long enough for her to poke at him so we decided to get her the next best thing -- textured books! Having purchased 3 books from the Touch & Feel line, we wanted to expand her library and found this one. As an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. At my daughter's age, she loved seeing all the different types of cats but was too overzealous with some of the interactive pages! The "swishing twitching cat tail" now has a giant piece of duct tape mended over. My daughter also loves the squeaky ball but she doesn't have the finger dexterity yet to push it herself. The last page is absolutely adorable featuring all the cats shown in the book with their names. I can see my daughter at age 2 trying to remember each & every one's name!!

Even grownups love them

I had four new babies to buy for in a short space and came across these beautiful books. I ended up buying two of each-one dog book, one cat book - for each child. These are beautifully done- I will never forget the sixty something Grandmas PORING over them at a baby shower and the other Grandmas impatiently waiting their turn. The books are nice enough to give as a shower gift and were really appreciated by the new Mamas among all the usual clothes and baby blankets. As for the actual kids who will "read" them,, these are sturdy, well made books with gorgeous photos and something happens- a texture, a sound, a pull-out- on every page. As the adult who will read them to the child, some of the pages are quite funny-when you end up reading them multiple times you will appreciate this. As with all pop-up books, these should probably be read to the child as there are moving parts but compared to a lot of this genre, they are very sturdy and should last quite a while. The animals are actual pets and are named on the last page. Classy and fun and gorgeous to look at! The above applies to the Dog book as well.

Cute book

My 19 month old loves cats so we got her this book. She looks at this book at least three times a day. Her cousin ripped off the cats tail so this book may not be good for kids who are rough with books. Anyway, cute book. A little heavy for little hands.

Great pictures, stiff moving parts

My toddler loves this book. It's a lot of fun and the pictures are great! The moving parts are a bit stiff and hard to move and there is a squeeker in the book that my toddler lacks the quick firm jab needed to sqeek. Still, a great book for any cat loving preschooler!

Such a fun book!

My toddler LOVES cats and so I knew I had to get this book for her. It was an instant hit, and she loves everything about this book. From the pictures of real cats on each page (in my experience kids are more attracted to real life pictures as opposed to drawn pictures of animals) to the fact that there's something to do on each page---push a squeaky ball, pull out a section, push in a section, this book is just plain fun. The text has a great cadence to it and my little one has started to memorize this book already. I plan on buying DOG next. This book was more expensive than your typical board book but well worth the money!

Cute book, questionable supplier

Book itself is super cute and my daughter loved it. However, I was disappointed in the particular copy we received. The ball that was supposed to squeak was all smushed in and didn’t work. Several of the tabs were very stiff and difficult for even me to operate, certainly not manageable by small hands. And finally, several of the pages had this gross feeling white powder coated on them. Yuck. Sending this one back and ordered a replacement. Hopefully that one will be better.

My favorite gift for little ones...

I LOVE these books. I don't have kids, but I have given these books as gifts to numerous little ones. Even my 8 mos old niece loves to look at the pictures and watch the movements. Because there are moving parts, they are susceptible to damage by overzealous little ones, but that's part of the fun.

Just as good as Dog by Matthew Van Fleet!

I preordered this book for my daughter because she absolutely loves Van Fleet's "Dog" book, and I was hoping "Cat" would be just as good... my daughter and I were not disappointed! The book is listed for children ages 2 and up, but my daughter is 15 months and already enjoys pulling the tabs, petting the fur and flipping open the pages to reveal more cats. She is absolutely intrigued by the squeaking ball! That was the first thing she discovered when she pressed on the cover, and then she turned the pages to find out the source (it's actually a few pages in). She will often sit on the floor for 15 minutes and flip through the pages on her own, carefully examining the cats and all of the features the book has to offer. My daughter used to bring us her "Dog" book, sit on our lap and demand that we read the book, pull the tabs and pet the animals with her. Now, after only a few days, she does the same with "Cat". At least we can switch back and forth now! We also have "Tails" and "Fuzzy Yellow Ducklings" by Van Fleet, but for some reason my daughter isn't as interested in them. Perhaps she doesn't find them as fascinating because they are illustrations and don't have as many soft textures as "Dog" and "Cat" do. Either way, I recommend Matthew Van Fleet's "Cat"! PS: After a while, the kitten that pops out of the boots broke. My daughter must've pulled on the kitten or something!

Cute and Fun Book

If you have a little cat lover in your life get this book. It's really cute. My granddaughter (3 yo) loves it. It has interactive play in it, which my granddaughter really likes.

Kids love this book!

My daughter was 1 yo when we got her this book, and it soon turned out to be her favorite book! We have a cat at home, so she loved seeing all the life-like cats in this book. The book features interactive pieces the child can pull and press to have the cats do different things like "peek-a-boo" and "wagging tails". It's a large book too, much larger than expected but in a good way. I felt like I got my money's worth with this one...so we went ahead and got the Dog Book too :)

Cute book, easy read

Extremely cute book that children love, but still fun for adults as well. The text is real simple, only a few words per page, and can be read by a beginning reader with some help (words like "catastrophe" might be difficult). The fun is in the moving parts and tactile effects. Can be useful for getting pre-readers interested in books in the first place. They can flip through the pages and play, and you can read them the book in just a few minutes.

Great book but it came damaged.

The 2 stars is due to this book being damaged with a hole in the back of the binding and smudges on some of the pages. I’m planning to return and getting a second one. As far as the actual content, my son loves the Van Fleet books. They are very interactive and keep his attention for a while and that is really hard to do with a 10 month old. I’ll order a second one and hopefully this time it won’t have any damages/defects.

Highly recommended!

This is a great book! We bought the dog one too. My granddaughter just loves the tactile and motion. It’s fun to read it to her every time because she enjoys it so much.

My son ADORES this book!

I purchased this book (and the Dog book) for my son before he was born because I want him to develop an appreciation for animals. I gave him the books at 9 months old; he is now 11 months old and he cannot get enough of the Cat book! He loves the swishing tail and claps his hands when I read, "Swish, swish, swish!" When we come home and I put him down amidst all of the toys and books, he always makes a beeline for the Cat book. He talks to the cats in the pages and he cries if the book gets inadvertently shoved under the sofa. He likes the Dog book but seems much more attached to the Cat book. I let him play with the book on his own and he did rip out the swishing tail but I just popped it back in. He tore one of the fold-out flaps on the back page. The binding also broke from overuse, but I figured I'll just buy him a replacement. If you give this type of book to a baby, expect these things to happen if you let him or her play with it. It is not as sturdy as a board book. I don't mind this problem because I am just so happy he loves it as much as he does.

Favorite Book!

Got this book for my daughter for her first birthday - she LOVES cats. It's been six months - it's still her favorite book! She carries it around all the time and wants us to read it to her. It's a beautiful, high quality book. Since purchasing this book, we have bought almost all the other books by this author. Dog, Moo, Heads, Alphabet, Tails...etc.! All are great. Our favorites are the Dog, Moo & Cat. Beautiful pictures - your kids will fall in love with them! They love to pull the tabs and make the animals move - really super cute!

the book "cat"

I love this book. it was a gift for a child and he love love loved it. I bough it used and it was in perfect condition (which was amazing b/c of all of the moving parts). my one criticism is that nowhere in this listing did it say that this seller was shipping from the uk and so the shipping time cut it very close in terms of me needing this by a specific date for a specific occasion. I emailed the seller when a couple of weeks had passed and they promptly followed up with me and were very polite. the book ultimately arrived before I needed it, but I think folks should know that items from this seller will take a while to get to you b/c they are not being shipped within the continental us. however, in this case it was worth the wait because the item was flawless.

I'm glad I purchased this Cat book

I'm glad I purchased this Cat book. My grandson is going to love it. It has great graphics and is quality made. I've bought several others of Matthew Van Fleet books and they are awesome.

Beautiful cat book, my 20 mo old loves it!!!

My 20 month old son loves cats and this book has been a huge hit with him since we purchased it months back. Great, sturdy book with lots of fun pull and push surprise pieces that are still intact!

This book is awesome! It is sturdy and each page has activities ...

This book is awesome! It is sturdy and each page has activities on it (flaps, squeaky ball, fuzzy tails, ect). My 1 year old daughter loves it and hasn't been able to destroy it! She did rip the one moving tail out but I was able to reattach it easily. The actual words are a little weird sometimes but at this point we are just looking at the pictures

The Author's other books are much better

I bought this book because my son loves the MOO one and the DOGS one. This book however, isn't as good. The words I feel are too advanced for a child and it just doesn't have the same style as the other books. I felt like the photos were repetitious as well. I would return if I didn't have to pay $5 for the shipping.

Still great, but not as good as DOG.

Bought it because my 2 years old develops a liking to cats. It's still a nice book, but compare to DOG, it feels not as well designed as that one. And of course, supervising is required when you read it with a toddler.

Absolutely adorable.

This is such a cute book, just like the Dog book. One feature I like better about this one over Dog, is that the little handles on the sides of the pages get pushed in, rather than pulled out. I feel like this makes the book sturdier, as it is harder to jam the sliders to far in, but easier to rip them out. The spine is not quite as tough as one would hope on a book this thick. I recommend taping it with clear tape while it still looks nice.

High Expectations not met

I don't know quite what I was expecting, but..... We own the Heads and Dog books by this author, and love them. They are fun and silly and by now have several pieces missing. My 6 year old still loves to play with these books, and she also adores cats, so I thought this would be the perfect fit. But the book, while following the same format with touchables and tabs to pull, just seems boring. She has put it aside and really hasn't looked at it much since she got it. I am disappointed.

Described as a great book for toddlers, but kinda fragile

Hold off until they are 3ish. My 2 year old has really worked over some of the paws, tails and foldouts. Their little fingers are not strong or nimble enough to make the kitties move using the tabs. However, they KNOW the tail waves and the paw bats, so they just yank on those parts until they do something...like rip. The page with the red squeak button is the best. I have this feeling that page will float around long after the rest of the book has been junked.

Entertaining book with textures, colors and moving pieces

This book is one of our daughters favorites. The build quality is good and the different textures, colors and moving parts make it very entertaining. There are some areas where the moving pieces are weak and our kids keep tearing them out and we repair w/ super glue. Don't think it's the books issue, but more an issue with moving parts with small kids.

Great for kids and full of surprises!

I got this book for my youngest cousin who's about 4 or 5 and she really liked it! I hadnt realized when I ordered it but it's interactive with pull out tabs and cut outs with fake fur you can pet and the likes. Cute, simple, and a great hands-on way to keep a little one engaged in reading (:

SO MANY CATS!

We have a dog, but for some reason, my 1.5 year old is _obsessed_ with cats. She'll stare intently out the kitchen window, hoping the neighbor's cat will walk into view and then go nuts if it does. This book is perfect for those times when she has no live cat to watch. There are something like 50 cats in the last two pages of the book and she will examine them longer than any other book in the house. I imagine we'll get _Dog_ at some point as well, but for now _cat_ is really hitting the spot.

Fun book for kids

This was my niece's favorite book when she was little. Got one as a gift and children love it!

LOVE these books!!

My toddler LOVES these books! She has the "Tails" book and the "Dog" book so naturally I had to get the "Cat" one as well. These are the cutest books and are very interactive! I suggest these to everyone and I buy them as gifts for everyone!

Love this book.

Love this book! My 2 year old nephew loves it too. We read it over and over again.

Highly recommend

First book my granddaughter grabs and hands to me to read, several times a day. It is adorable.

Fantastic

One of the best purchases for my son! We read it almost every day.

Great for babies!

I found the Dog book for my grandson and his mom started reading it to him when he was just a few months old. Now he is 9 months old and it has been his absolute favorite all this time. He pulls it out and turns the pages and feels all the textures. So when I saw this book on Amazon, I knew we had to have it. It came today and I doubt if I can wait three months until his birthday to give it to him, I'm just that excited to see his face when he gets it. This book is beautifully photographed and put together!

Cat kitty cat!

A dear friend of mine gave this book to my son when he was born. I thought it was a cute book but at the time I couldn't picture my baby getting that interested in it. Fast forward a year or so and this book has become a favorite. My son is now 17 months old and out of the many, many books we have he consistently pulls this one out and begs me to read it to him over and over again. We love this book so much we've just ordered "Dog" and "Moo". This one's a keeper!

Kids love it

Great interactive book. Durable.

Awesome kids book

My 3 year old absolutely loves this book. We’ve read it every night since it arrived.

Baby’s favorite book

Adorable book.

great book for cat loving kids

Two of my grandkids have this book. One is an 18 month old the other 3 years old. Both love it. It has a huge number of pictures of assorted cats and a lot of interactive things for the kids to do. I doubt if the three year old will love it too much longer. But for now it is great.

Daughters favorite book

Our daughter loves this book! Larger and heavier than I expected but if they are kitty obsessed, it is a winner

this book is a hit at our house

My son went crazy over this book in the bookstore when he was a year old. He loves cats. The pictures are nice and the rhymes are cute. He loves all of the pull and push tabs too. He's 18 months old now and still wants to play with this book all the time. If your kid like cats this book is great. I know they have ones of other animals too, if cats aren't your baby's thing.

Our new favorite children's author

My son is 1 1/2 and we love Matthew Van Fleet! After receiving Tails and Munch as gifts, we were hooked. He loves the flaps and tabs and the words and simple and cute for little ones just starting to read. We have almost all his books now!

Hard to pull the tabs

We have all the other movable books (dog, farm animals). This one doesn't work properly. It is hard to pull the tabs, tabs get stuck, etc.

doesn't ship well

Great looking book. Bought the book for my 1 year old. She is terrified of the moving cat parts but enjoys the other pages. The first copy I received had a torn front and the squeaky ball was deflated so it wouldn't squeak when pressed. I returned it for a new copy. The front cover isn't torn but the ball is deflated and doesn't squeak.

meow!

We purchased this for our 12 month old's birthday. We have three cats at home and a tail chasing baby, so we thought this would be a hit. What we didn't expect was how wonderful the book would be. Our daughter might bring us ten books in ten minutes to read her, but our favorite, and hers, has to be this one. Not only are there many different cats doing many different things, but it has things for her to squeak and pull. The only fault is, like many other books for her age group, she has managed to rip a few things off. We definitely look at this book as something we will keep for a long time. Most importantly- she loves it!

Great illustrations

My kids love the book, can’t go to bed without looking at their cat and dog book. The are always looking for the mouse (spoiler alert)

Good!

My daughter absolutely loves this book!

Cats

Love the photography. Amusing to a 2 year or older.

If you love cats, you will love CAT by Matthew Van Fleet

Purchased this book for my two year old niece. Great dialogue, beautiful illustrations. Every page has a "pull-out" where a cat pops up and performs some kitty behavior. Also in the end of the book is a "dictionary" of all kinds of cats, pictured. A great way for a young cat lover to learn the different breeds. I recommend this one for young cat lovers!

Great book for little cat lovers!

We love this Cats book, just like almost all Matthew Van fleet books. My kids are cat lovers and we read it frequently. Cats are absolutely adorable, and interactivity of the book is amazing. Also, it is good for younger kids, they can't destroy it easily, like some of the books of these series. But I hide it on upper shelf anyway))

Fun and educational

We gave this book to my 19 month old daughter for Christmas, and she loves it. The words are easy to understand, teach basic concepts (soft, furry, etc.), and rhyme. The real strength of the book is the pictures. The pages contain a variety of different fun interactions, such as animating a cat swiping at a fish in a fish bowl (see cover) and petting different textures of cats. This is a fun book that you can enjoy time and time again. It's the third book we've bought by Matthew Van Fleet.

Super Cat Book

Do your children or grandchildren love cats? Mine do and they love Van Fleet's book of colorful photographs of every imaginable kind of cat. The pages are sturdy with pull-outs and flip opens that my grandkids, ages 5 and 2, enjoy; after many many readings, the book is still securely intact. The author's sense of humor is excellent and makes us laugh with each reading.

Adorable Book

When I asked my daughter for some ideas about purchasing books for my granddaughter, she suggested books by Matthew Van Fleet. I received the book and was very impressed with the quality and interactive pages. My granddaughter is just now 6 mths and beginning to take an interest in books. I am sure that she will enjoy the simplicity and interaction that the book provides. I look forward to reading this book with her.

I loved the book and read it 3x already to myself.

The cat book was far better than the dog book... It was far more balanced with interactions and even has a squeaky toy in it = ) Plus the rhyming and topics were fun and I laughed at the cool cat copy cat (even though the image was Photoshopped it was great). So even though I am a dog person, I am only keeping the cat book for my son. However, the cat book is not without a few issues. First, the added fabric to pet runs the risk of paper cuts. Sometimes the fur sinks away from the page while petting it with your finger, so you rub the side of your finger on the edge of paper... which could lead to a paper cut. I found the dog book to be worse in this regard as the cat book tends to have wider cut outs. I almost got a paper cut with the dog book, but not so with the cat book.. but the risk though less is still there. But if you think about it... almost any book runs the risk of a paper cut. Second, there is a cat flying on a broomstick labeled "the witch." I really wish they used some other rhyming word like pitch with a singing cat etc.. I prefer this just to keep the book religiously neutral. I know there are a lot of religious people that would be offended by a witch and would not buy or would return the book for this reason alone. Overall, I loved the book and read it 3x already to myself. Loved the flaps that opened, loved the moving tabs items, loved the range of cats, and loved that tabs could go in or out so you had to pay attention to which way the arrow was facing..

Five Stars

SENT TO MY SISTER

Winner!

My son absolutely adores cats and this book has made him really happy! He's a little old for it (6) but has autism and this book has held his interest for a good part of the day since we got it. It's well made, durable enough to stand up to repeat abuse from a 6 year old. Highly recommend it if your child loves cats!

acceptable quality

some pages are broken, the cat's tail is loosing.

For very small children.

I haven't watched a child with this book yet but my new Great-Granddaughter, who is due any day, will have a cat in her life so that is why I chose it. A tiny one can read this bood as it is cardboard and pages easy to turn. Also has slides to make a tail wag and several other moments that little children enjoy. I was very pleased when I packed it for shipping feeling that she would enjoy it very much.

Large book with many colorful pages

I had to reorder this book because the squeaky ball feature was broken in the first book. The replacement arrived, and also had a defective squeaky ball feature. It was a birthday gift, so I had to give the book in it's damaged condition.

terrible unacceptable condition

It arrived ripped, destroyed, nonfunctional. We bought this one to replace one the our kids has destroyed, and this one was worse!

Meow

Bought for my 3 year old granddaughter. she has a real cat and wanted a book about cats. She loves this book and takes it to bed with her every night with the real cat. The slide out features and touch fur is great. This book can also be enjoyed buy adults also. I can also see this book being used for elderly people with deminta

great book

great book

Other reviews were misleading

Although the pictures are beautiful, this book should only be listed as a toddler's book (ages 12-36 months). The pages are very durable for young hands, but the book itself is nothing more than great pictures with very simple descriptions ("cool cat", "striped cat"....) and a few 'pull tabs' to make the cat's tail swish. I bought this for a 4 year old and it only took a few minutes to go through the entire book which elicited no excitement or positive response from her. I am returning it and buying something more appropriate for a four-year old. I can't imagine suggesting this book for anyone over the age of 3.

who is just learning English and seems to love cats, will be as excited about it as ...

Basic concepts are shown in a variety of ways. I think (and hope) my student, who is just learning English and seems to love cats, will be as excited about it as I am. It will also be great for small children just developing their language skills.

Wonderful book!

This is a great book! My 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter both love it. I agree with other reviewers that it will probably not last until my kids are 18. The book is well constructed, it's just that the very nature of the book will lead to lots of use and wear and tear. The interactive portions of the book are great and I would definitely buy this book for a friend.

Great Book featuring breed specific cats

I bought this book for my 1 year old grandson and I love the book because instead of featuring all "heinz 57" cats, all the cats are specific breeds and the breeds are listed at the back of the book. As a cat breeder, it is always nice to see books where the breeds are recognized and distinguished. This is great for me because I want my grandson to have some exposure to different breeds in a fun book that he enjoys. He loves the book and I have one for home and one for my office for clients. It's well made and well done.

Excellent book for your little cat lover!

If your toddler loves cats, they will adore this fun book. I think I like this better than the dog one, but both are good. Whenever my toddler is upset we read this and it calms him down. These books are great and I love all of the pull tabs, lift-the-flaps and the squeaky ball. Creative!

excellent book, but my book was damage

excellent book, but my book was damage, pages were stuck together, when gently taking apart, part of the page was pulled up. was going to send back and reorder b/c i have granddaughters that love cat books, but never checked into it. they still look and play with book, but i couldn't use for a gift.

Good book!

Lovely, sturdy book, great cat photos!

Adore!

Best pop-up books are Matthew Van Fleet's! Love these so much. Our 18-month old can't get enough of the newly purchased Cat and Dog books, after gleefully manhandling Tails for months now. These books are super sturdy and so well-made. Sure to be a pleasure for many months to come.

Five Stars

Great children's book

Say yes to books

Cat, Dog and Moo are fantastic books but if your kids are curious like mine then I recommend supervised visitation only.

Very happy with purchase

Very Happy with purchase. Granddaughter loves this author's books.

Five Stars

My kids favorite series of books. So interactive and fun!

Five Stars

An instant favorite.

charming but delicate

This would be great in a very calm, very careful household. I ordered 10 for literacy project for new moms, and one arrived with a split binding. The books are slightly larger than "Tails" by the same author, and the binding is significantly weaker. It is clear from opening them, that the binding will split with even average household use. I returned these, but kept "Tails."

My little Granddaughter is really enjoy this Book

My little Granddaughter is really enjoy this Book. She also has "Dogs" and I am ordering "Moo" for her! Simply TERRIFIC books!

Fun book

Love this book. My pediatric clients are intrigued by it.

Five Stars

My grandkids enjoyed this book for several years, it was a great purchase.

Amazing cat book, many breeds of cats!

BIG, BRIGHT, lovely cat photos. An amazing eye-opening book with many breeds of cats. Love the large pages of colorful cats. Very clear and high quality images. Great for kids and adults the same. If you love cats, you'll enjoy this anytime.

Great Book!

My toddler LOVES this book. Cats and books are some of her favorite things, and tied together in an interactive book is the cherry on top.

Amazing book

My son is obsessed with cats lately and this is so perfect but I wish the pages would have been more sturdy..

Great book for cat lovers

I bought this book for my two year old niece. We are cat lovers so the topic is interesting to her. The illustrations are beautiful and the book is sturdy to hold up to the wear and tear of little hands.

Furry friends

The cover is particularly cute with the fishbowl. I do think however that the dog book was better (and I'm a cat lover) and funnier. Would have like to have seen better breed selection. And some of the copy was a bit weak. That being said, my daughter is always grabbing for this book.

Neat book

"Cat" was my daughter's first word, so we had to have this one after we saw his "Dog" book. This one has some fancier features than "Dog." Now my new baby likes to touch the cats' furry tails!

This book is categorically awesome, the cat's meow.

I give this book five stars on behalf of my children. We received it two days ago. It's all they want to read. It's far larger than I expected, and the interactive pages (tabs you can pull to make cats appear or wag their tails, etc.) are perfect for toddlers.

Poor Quality

I purchased this book for a baby shower gift and am so embarrassed by its condition. The spine broken and bent.

A hit with our 1-year old...

Our son loves this book (along with the Dog and Farm Animal books by the same author). A few of the moving parts can be damaged by little ones if you don't keep a close watch as they use the book, but that's just the way it goes with little kids and books.

Five Stars

Son loves it.. Laughs at the hidden mouse at the end..

Excellent for my 2 year old

We have both the CAT and DOG book. I have a highly destructive toddler. DOG didn't survive, but the CAT pieces are much more durable and less likely to be mangled.

Five Stars

So cute, I had to buy other books from the series too.

Wonderful

This book is surprisingly durable for all the moving parts. Lot's of novelty: textures, flaps, sticky spots, things to push or pull, and even a squeaky ball. My toddler liked this as early as age 1, but is just now really able to push and pull the moving pieces at 2 and a half. I would recommend and old as kindergardeners really enjoying this book. It's rhymey, but not annoying; as a mom I can read it again and again.

CATS!!!

Purchased for 1 year who is now 18 months. This is his favorite go to book, in his huge library of books. Loves interactive quality. Lives with 2 cats, and visits relative with 3 cats.

Family fave series!

We love these books by Van Fleet! We own several and my kids love them and continue to love them for years!

Terrible quality

Horrible, pages were reaped.

Fun for toddlers

This book gives my toddler hours of delight from wagging a cat's tail to pointing at the bubbles.

So glad I bought this!

Bought this for our 17 month grand daughter who loves cats. She got a kick out of it, especially the squeeky ball page. The arrows are too difficult for a child her age to work but we all enjoyed working them for her and seeing her delight. It is about 1 and a half inches thick and good for laps but needs an adult to carry it for her. The cats photographed are full of personality. I added a photo of our cats which she identified with and liked.

Five Stars

It's a second purchase of this book because we completely wore out the first one.

Our 6 year old grand daughter is crazy for kitties and she loved it.

Very cute. Our 6 year old grand daughter is crazy for kitties and she loved it.

Just Right for Kids with Cats!

My 2 year old grand niece loves pictures of cats, so this book was just about perfect. She loves to look at the pictures and the heavy pages make it easy for her to turn the pages.

What a cute pop up book for kids. I ...

What a cute pop up book for kids. I bought for my Father in Law who has dementia & he absolutely loves it. Fast shipping too. Thank you!

Four Stars

Not as good as the dog book but still good!

Van Fleet books are always fun for little ones

Van Fleet books are always fun for little ones. The cover was quickly broken by my FIL but the rest of the pages have held up so far. My little guy loves the squeaky ball page.

Grandchildren's favorite

I've bought this book - and the companion Dog book - for all of my grandchildren. It's always been a favorite. The moveable/pull-out features are durable and add to the appeal of the book to young children.

Great book for younger kids

Purchased for a gift as our family owns the Dog book. One of our favorites! Great book for younger kids. Lots to touch, feel and move.

Great book!

My baby really enjoys handing us this book to read. The only drawback is the pop-up portions, they were not made of sturdy paper and baby ripped them easily.

Perfect books for toddlers

I bought CAT and DOG as a birthday gift for a 2-year old. Her mother wrote me that this little girl was entranced by these books. She asked to have them read to her over and over again and had practically memorized them. I am so glad to have found them on your site. It is wonderful to see children learn to love and respect animals from a very early age.

Great book for toddlers! My friend's son loves it.

I gave this book to my friend for her son's 1st birthday. He loves the book and its interactivity. It's quite a large, sturdy book, and it has stood up to a toddler's handling for months now.

Great book for the pre-reader

A great book for kids. The tabs and texture/touch part of the books were perfect for the pre-reader.

YES!!

These books are great. They are well made and sturdy. The delightful interaction is a hit with my 2 year old.

Everyone at the shower loved it. The perfect gift

It was cute. I gave it as a baby gift. Everyone at the shower loved it. The perfect gift.

Our favorite books of all!

We love Van Fleet books! Wish he made more! This along with DOG and MOO are must haves with kids!

So Cute!

The photos here are so cute--adults and little ones will enjoy reading this. Matthew Van Fleet is terrifically creative, and we're pleased to add this one to our collection.

Great book!

We have all the Matthew Van Fleet books. The pictures are amazing, and our 1 year old daughter loves them! They keep her entertained for quite a long time and she is always going back to them. CAT is definitely a favorite!

Great book!

Many things to touch. Baby loves it.

Terrible

This book was tore up! Everything was ripped out! Um... what ?

love it

Great book. It's been a favorite in my house for years and I have given it as a gift. The rhyming words are great and no one can resist the interactive pages.

Two Stars

Disappointed in this one.

Sturdy, adorable book

This book keeps my 1.5 year old entertained - she loves coming back to it over and over! Incredibly durable and sturdy, with wonderful photographs and text. I don't mind reading it over and over!

Disappointed.

It was missing pieces of some pages. It also is clearly a young child's book.

Best book ever

My daughter's favorite book. I'm currently on our second version because my toddler has loved it to death (by pulling the moving pieces out).

Five Stars

My one year old loves this book! This is his second one. He terrorized his first one.

Daughter loved it so much, I bought it twice!

My 18 month old daughter loves this book. Unfortunately, we have to keep it out of her reach on the bookshelf because she has torn out some of the moving flaps. She ultimately destroyed the first copy, but she loved it so much, I bought her a second one. She lovese the moving pieces and the ability to feel the different textures.

One of Granddaughters favors books

Pages don’t tear, excellent pictures, granddaughter loves it

if you have Cats - get it

My wife loves cats and this filled the bill

Love It

Since we are cat people we especially like this book. Purchased it along with Dog and Moo and gave them as a Valentines gift to my granddaughter.

Great book!

These books are the cutest. Hours of enjoyment! The kids find something new every time they go through it.

Fun book for kids

The kids love it!

Five Stars

Granddaughter loves the book.

Five Stars

Very nice book.

Cat

I was very delighted with the book called Cat. The condition of the book was excellent, with minimal signs of wear. I got the book with the idea of sharing it with my younger nieces and nephews. I'm sure they will enjoy it as much as I did. My first shopping experience with Amazon was so good that I plan on making future purchases there. When they say what condition a used product is, it is as they say and sometimes even better.

Fun book

Great book for cat lovers with kids. Thick hardcover book (too bulky for easy take-along entertainment), that's fun for little hands to read (although my 17 month old tries to tear off the moving parts).

loved it

My son loved this. It was packaged nicley and it came on time. I would buy this again for a present.

Very interactive

A Christmas present for my three-year-old granddaughter. She really likes it.

Five Stars

This cute book is junk! Not kid friendly at all! It cannot be handled, even gently without falling apart!

Love,these books

These are wonderful books for little hands, very durable, illustrations are great and interesting. Worth every penny. Grand-kids will love for years.

Beautiful, sturdy book!

Both granddaughters (ages 2.5 and 1.5) enjoy this sturdy, colorful book. They love pushing and pulling the various tabs to get things to move. Nothing broken or torn yet after several weeks of heavy use. This was a great purchase!

I can't imagine a child who wouldn't love this book

I can't imagine a child who wouldn't love this book. All my grandchildren love it, and some have completely worn it out!

Sturdy and Fun!

Great gift for all ages!

Cute & engaging

Our kids LOVE this book! It was given as a gift and after heartily reading it for 5+ Years (over the span of 2 kids), it finally wore out. This is our second copy. We highly recommend it!

Fantastic book.

Fantastic book. I like the pictures, all the different cats, all the little embedded animations… my baby looks at it a lot.

Love his books

Love his books, but was a little disappointed with how few touch and feel things were in this book compared to others.

Big hit with toddler grandson

Heavy duty and well constructed for those T-Rex book users like my grandson! We read it over many times, works well as a pre-reader book!

Great for toddlers!

My not-quite-two-year-old LOVES this book. It goes everywhere with her, and has stood up to her wear and tear wonderfully. Great gift for kitty lovers of all ages.

Adorable book!

Super book for 1 year and up. Interesting photos of different cats. Some interactive parts like furry tails. Adored by our grandson.
