C-4 Leadership: Ignite Your Career. Shatter Expectations. Take Charge of Your Life.

A good friend of mine recommended C-4 Leadership and I must say it’s a great read! As a millennial, I’ve just accepted my first role into management in a corporate environment. So, I’m really absorbing lots of information from a plethora of sources to help me navigate through this new experience. After reading C-4 Leadership, I find the stories, experiences, and perspective shared to be identifiable, relatable, and powerful. There’s so much I could reference in this book and say I’ve have seen that or experienced something similar and that’s what makes this great for me. Reading this book has provided food for thought with things like; breaking through the glass ceiling, knowing where I’m going, and thinking like shareholder. C-4 Leadership helps me recognize things that are found in a great leader which I can start to incorporate in my own development.

My digital, softcover and hardcover collection is filled with some of the most inspiring individuals. Chris does a fantastic job with C4 in demanding its place. I don't posses a very long attention span and therefore takes me quite a while to read a full book. Not with this book. I started by thinking I would just read a page or two to get the flow and later decide when would be the best time to read. The couple pages turned into 10 and later more than 50 page. I'm not done with the book but strongly believe it deserves a pause to give credit where it's due. I think it had much to do with just the laid back but riveting tone. It reflected much of the Chris Winton you see speaking or in interviews on Youtube, online or in-person (if you've had the opportunity). It's really mimics what i would feel like if I ever sat down with Chris to discuss life and intimate details of his journey. I felt I could relate to his journey and the introspection that no one tells you about when you're a trailblazer. Thank you for sharing the lessons in this book Chris. C4 is my book of the month and I'm asking my family, associates, colleagues and mentees to take the time to read it if they can also stand in their own truth. Do it!

Chris provides insightful nuggets of personal, cultural and corporate experiences that is relatable to readers at all levels. Many students leaving high school/college have aspirations of being successful because that’s what they see and hear but have have little to no guidance on what it takes to actually become successful when it’s completely up to them. One of my goals for 2020 was to read more. However, I could not find a book that could ignite that fire to start my path to reading this year. I receive a special treat with the release of C4-Leadership. Chris takes you on a ride with candid stories of success and failures, do’s and dont’s.. There where moments when reading, I would pause and reflect on my personal growth and where I wanted to be and how I am getting there. It opened my eyes to ideas and possibilities I never thought was attainable. C-4 change my thought process, my perspective. That appetite for being a leader, helping my community, and being my authentic self as I do it. C-4 changed my mindset. Let it change yours. I really enjoyed and gained great insight from this book! It was an easy read yet funny, powerful and informative. I related so much to his story from working in the grocery store to the challenges he faced climbing the corporate ladder . I liked the meaning behind C-4 to help people move ahead, focusing on continuous learning and changing the way you think to be more like a shareholder, storyteller and others. Sometimes your own kids listen more to other people for advice and guidance even though, as a parent, you could tell them the same thing or something similar. My daughter is about to enter the workforce...I put this book in her hand!!

Excellent read for experienced and emerging leaders. Winton’s book provides applicable principles using compelling stories from the front lines of leadership in order to teach the reader his methodology. I enjoyed that the stories came from various levels of experience, showing that leadership begins with the decision to selflessly serve and that strong foundational principles can set the stage for success. Highly recommend for current leaders, rising professionals, and anyone hoping to shatter their own professional glass ceilings and boost the effectiveness of their influence.

If you want transparency, then this is the book for you. I’ve known of Chris for a very short time and I can say I am really thankful that we have crossed paths. I’ve been fumbling with next steps in my career and this book has definitely provided insight and guidance for next steps! Great read!

Great read. It offered very solid handles for a leader to hold on to as they navigate their career journey. I highly recommend.

Insightful, thought provoking, activity book. I have written in this, tabbed pages, and will continue referring back to it.

This book definitely breaks down the misinterpretations and barriers on to make it and succeed in the corporate world. And it also shows that humbleness can also be a key to success!!
