In a gorgeous picture book that’s playfully sweet and visually captivating, New York Times bestselling author Melissa Marr and talented new illustrator Teagan White celebrate the many ways parents make their new babies feel at home.
The world can seem like a big, bewildering place for new babies—fortunately, their mamas know just how to soothe and comfort them. Through enchanting scenes portraying all kinds of mama animals looking out for their little ones, the mother in this story reassures her baby, and young children everywhere, that their caretakers will always love them and keep them safe. This beautiful picture book has the feel of a classic and its heartwarming premise should make it a family favorite.

Most Precious Foster or Adoption Book
We received this book through the Amazon Book Club for kids. After I read it through the first time, I realized it was the story of our journey with our little girl, who is now 2 years old. We did not expect to be asked to foster a baby, and we never dreamed she was the answer to all of the prayers we didn’t even know to pray. I related to each of the mommy animals, who all comfort their “baby” in different ways. Each example reminds me of a step we took in the fostering process. We bathed her with such care and gave her “milk” when she was hungry. It’s funny because I was so clueless that I bought incredibly expensive items, like a instant formula mixer, to help make her comfortable. When the mommy runs home to make her baby a cozy den, I can feel tears as I think back to getting her crib and turning the guest room into a nursery so she would have a home. The vacations are the warm spots so she can see the world. Each page is so meaningful to me. It all leads to the absolute answer—we got everything together to bring her to our home as quickly as possible—just going on faith and prayer—and the answer is she is our baby and this is her home. All of the pieces came together to give us the honor of being her parents and knowing she truly is ours. I am so thankful to have a precious book that is not advertised as a book for adoption or fostering, but it is incredibly heartwarming and means the world to me.
Oh so good! Our fav!
We LOVE this book. We have been reading it from the first month of baby's life. She is now 8 months old and the words of the story are so true. You don't realize it until time passes and then you make the connection. It's so sweet. I also love the illustrations not the typical bold in your face colors which is a pleasant surprise. It is also a quick read which is good with a moving baby!
So sweet and a great message for kids
This has to be one of the cutest books I have ever read for babies and parents. I read it in the bookstore and instantly teared up. I particularly like that it references all of the "annoying" and jarring things babies do (rooting, crying, etc), as animal behaviors, and offers things that the mommy did to help solve the baby's problems. I think this book would be especially great to read to older children when they are about to become big brothers or sisters. It can remind them that they did these "annoying" behaviors too and place the baby's actions in context for them, as something all animals do, and as actions that mommies and families need to help soothe. The illustrations are exceptionally cute, too. I've ended up purchasing three more copies to give as presents to my new parent friends, all of whom had the same teary reaction I had. Love!
Adorable book
Super cute book! Not too big for toddlers to hold (pictures is my hand for size comparison) all hard, sturdy pages.
Gentle style
Cardboard book, not easy to tear. Rounded corners. The illustrations are exceptionally cute.
Love this book !
My son LOVES this book and it has been the only one he has ever been interested in. He actually lost it once and I purchased it again. My son is autistic and for some reason this particular book helps us bond. he loves the pictures I like to read with sound effects as well & interact. No complaints. I plan to buy another for a keepsake
The illustrations are absolutely adorable! They made me want to buy more books ...
The positive: The illustrations are absolutely adorable! They made me want to buy more books illustrated by Teagan White! The less positive: The story isn't that interesting (to me or my baby). It's about how a baby takes various actions (such as looking around, whimpering, etc.) and based on each of those actions, the mom thinks her baby is a different animal, but ultimately she realizes that he is not an animal, but her baby. While the concept is kind of cute, the story just isn't that fun to read to a child, in my opinion.
Pretty book!
I love this book. The story. The illustration. It's great. Unfortunately, my book is gross. It has nasty dried smears of god knows what, stains from what looks like coffee, and torn chunks (mind you it is a board book) such a lovely book, Some thing that could be saved for your kids kids. 5 stars because the seller is refunding me. Will donate this copy and purchase a new copy
Sweet
The Easter bunny bought this book in my daughter’s Easter basket. 😉. Such a sweet story about different little baby animals and ends with a mama and baby. I love this book. Sweet message for a mama and a baby that warms the heart but not so much to make you cry also he illustrations are very soft and classic. One of our favorites.
The story and the illustrations are seriously adorable. Love the book
The story and the illustrations are seriously adorable. Love the book. I had a problem with the book being pretty dirty which was a little disappointing. I think Amazon should package each book in something as to not allow them to get dirty/banged up in the warehouse or in transit (wherever it may happen). Didn't take away from the book though, just a little annoying when I'm trying to gift a book and it already has dirt on it.

Sweet story (with beautiful illustrations) about a mama's love
Purchased this book as a present for a newborn. A very sweet story about parents' enduring love, and the caring things they do to comfort their little one when timid, hungry, tired, etc. The pages are beautifully illustrated and visually enchanting - there are brightly colored pictures and brush lettered text
The Sweetest Book for a New Mom
Love giving this book as a new baby gift along with a few other new mom pampering gifts. As a mom of two, I bought it when my littlest was 4 months old and sobbed (if you know, you know. Love those post partum hormones, baby!) It’s a beautiful book to give with a simple card for a baby shower as well. Or in an Easter basket. I have 3 in our “gift closer” as we speak, ready to be gifted. The message is so sweet, and illustrations are lovely.
Beautiful pictures
This is one of my (and my kids) favorite book. I can’t even post a nice picture because we’ve read it so much it’s falling apart! Adorable story and beautiful bucolic pictures. You will love this book!
Such a cute book
This book is beautifully illustrated! The story is also cute. Just a fair warning, with new mom hormones I cried like a baby reading this to my daughter. It's so sweet!
Toddler likes it
My 22 month old likes this book. Super cute pictures and he loves the baby at the end with his mama. The book compares the baby to how animals move.
Must have!
Adorable story for a new baby. It goes through all of the things that new babies do and the illustrations are beautiful. In my opinion this is a must have for your baby’s library!
SUCH a sweet book!
SUCH a sweet book!! We own the hardcover version and I just bought the board book version to have as well so my daughter can hold it (she’s 9 months) without tearing the pages. Beautiful illustrations and the sweetest story!! Dare you not to tear up reading this to your precious little one!

Very cute way of relating newborn struggles to your little one! Adorable little story. I bought this for Easter but it's not really about a bunny. Love it either way!

My 8 month old daughter loves this book. I read it before nap time and she just sits and looks at the pictures and listens to the words. Very calming, sweet book!!!
Awesome little book
Such a cute little book for little ones. It's a nice size for little ones to hold and learn out to flip pages out of. This would make a great baby shower gift.

Bought on a flash sale with no clue as to what I was getting. Made me giggle reading through. Cute book to add to littles collection. Larger than I expected!

An especially sweet book to read to baby at bedtime and talk about all the ways baby is cared for. The illustrations are also adorable.

Fantastic book for a new parent!
This children's book is absolutely beautiful! Wonderful illustrations and a touching message. Very sweet progression between different animals, helping to tell the story of a new mother getting to know her newly arrived baby. It made my heart melt after the arrival of my now 1-month old. A beautiful gift for any new parent, or just for someone wanting to read a endearing book with their child, which signifies the bond between parent and child.

Beautiful but not the most interesting for kids
Beautifully illustrated book. Feels a little bit more like a book for the parents more than for baby--Not because the text is so long or complex but because it lacks that certain rhythm and cadence the compelling children's books have (if that makes any sense.) It felt more like a book I should have read to my newborn infant--before she could squirm or complain--and years down the road, when I see the book, reminisce about the time my child was a newborn. Though this book isn't of any interest to my son or daughter, I'm still glad to have the book because it's so beautiful. The text and illustrations are full of sentiment and emotion I love reading it on my own and remembering the first weeks of my children's lives.
Darling Bunny & Mommy Book

such a cute book, my daughter love it
A beautiful, sweet book
The illustrator of this book is amazingly talented. The artwork is so perfect -- homey and sweet and vintage-y, and so different from the crazy primary color explosions you see in most kid books. The content/story is also very heartfelt and nearly made me tear up the first time I read it. I only wish it came in board book form, because my son is still of the age where he'll try to tear the pages (or accidentally tear them when turning the pages), and I would hate for that to happen to this beautiful book. I also highly recommend Adventures with Barefoot Critters, which is illustrated by the same woman. She's outstanding.
Awkward Read
I did not care for this book at all. It was an awkward read. The story was not something I wanted to actually read to my child. The story made me feel uncomfortable for some reason while reading it out loud to my daughter.
Creative concept that fell flat
This book is just okay. I’ve read better, I’ve read worse. To start on a positive note, the illustrations are adorable and I really love the idea of the book. I read this in store and half way through the book I thought “don’t cry, don’t cry” because it really is a sweet idea of a parent caring for their child. The ending just fell flat for me. I guess as I was reading it, I had higher expectations for the ending. I decided not to buy the book while in store because the ending was a bit of a miss for me. Maybe it was the word choice at the end that I didn’t care for because really the idea of “your not an animal your my baby” makes sense. I guess I just feel like the wording and idea of the story was overall cute and creative that the ending should have lived up to that too. Here’s the bottom line: if I had received this book as a baby shower gift, I would add it to the book rotation and read it to my baby, but it’s not a book that I would seek out to purchase.
A warm, comforting insta-classic
I pre-ordered the board book edition of this for my 3-year-old, although I wondered (not having read it yet myself) whether it might be too young for him. It wasn't. It wasn't too young for my 8-year-old, either. At the end of our first read, they BOTH let out sighs of deep contentment. "Ohhh," said my 8-year-old (who normally prefers fat chapter books about space adventures and so on). "What a HAPPY book!" My 3-year-old said: "READ IT AGAIN!" It's utterly simple, incredibly warm and comforting, and it has the best kind of insta-classic feel. My 3-year-old has asked me to read it to him again and again ever since it arrived, and the different bits from the book (as the mother tries to guess what kind of animal her new baby is) have entered into our family vocab. (E.g., when I call my 3-year-old "Bunny Roo," he always immediately says: "Hold me close! Keep me warm!") It's sincerely comforting in the best possible way, and I love it. It would make an absolutely perfect gift for any toddler (and I bet their older siblings, too, will feel a wave of warmth and security when they overhear it). Perfect. <3
Finally a book adoptive parents with new bunny babies :*)
My single mama friend just adopted a baby and after searching and searching I couldn't find a good book that was appropriate for her situation. (It was disappointing; not all babies come from mama's belly nor come into nuclear families.) But this book was perfect because it focuses on the love for a child. I am so happy she has a wiggly little bunny and I can gift her this book to celebrate. :*)
Buy this book for the foster mamas in your life!
I ran across this book today while shopping and from the first page was in tears. I’m a single foster mom who brought home my baby as a tiny newborn from the NICU, this book reminded me of those early days when being a mom was so new and I was trying to find all the ways to help him grow healthy. So many books about when a baby is born feel written specifically for bio parents, but this one fit our story so perfect!
The parents of her preemies relate to it and enjoy reading it to their babies so much that she ...
My son is 9 months old now and this has been in our bedtime rotation for about six months. He adores it! It is one of the books that instantly calms him down when we get it out. Additionally, my mother is a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and she says this book speaks to her patients more than any she has seen! The parents of her preemies relate to it and enjoy reading it to their babies so much that she started buying it for them when they left the NICU. Now her hospital keeps a supply for parents. So I highly recommend both as a bedtime story for young term babies as well as pre-term babies!
sweet snuggling book
sweet and snuggly cute.. grandbaby (9 months) wants it read over and over. helpful for reinforcing that idea that bathtime leads to bedtime.
Great book for new Moms
My sister gifted this too my son and it's so adorable. He loves that he can sit and play and read it without me helping him with the pages. The story is darling and it's one of my favorites to read.

I received this book as a gift at my baby shower. It's wonderful, the artwork is beautiful and it's a story I enjoy reading to my daughter over and over.
Lovely book for little ones
Adorable artwork & a sweet, simple story. My 14 month old loves books and she brings this one to me first thing every morning so I can read it to her.
Must have children's book
One of my son's favorite books. Beautiful story and beautiful illustrations.
Loving book
This is such a sweet bedtime book.
A very cute story. Simple and to the point.
I always love a story where the emphasis is on how special a baby is to their parents. Marr did it in a very cute and simple way. The illustrations were also simple, but had a very classic look to them that adults can appreciate, even if the children can't exactly. I think Marr captured a lot of the qualities that babies have, especially in the early stages and she does it in a sweet way. I really enjoyed reading this to my kids.
Bunny Roo, I Love You, Too!
Very sweet story, brought back memories of first moments with my own babies, over two decades ago. The illustrations are charming and I love all the details on every page. I will definitely order a few copies for gifts, and I acquired one of the original illustrations for my art collection!
Add to cart
The sweetest baby book. My favorite. A must have in any nursery library. The illustrations are beautiful- whimsical and colorful. The story line is adorable.
