I'm not a particularly religious person so ordering this, knowing it was being put out by a Christian publisher, I was a little wary that it would be mostly religion-based rather than football-based or based on Nick's life and career. Nick definitely talks about his faith but never comes across as preachy or like he's trying to convert anyone, and this book is definitely an autobiographical football book first and foremost. I didn't think I could have a bigger appreciation for Nick Foles but this book left me with one. He is a special person and the Eagles and all Eagles fans are lucky to have him. I loved hearing the inside story of his draft experience, how he felt being traded, about his time in St. Louis, and how he found himself reuniting with Andy Reid in Kansas City before deciding to come back to Philadelphia. Definitely recommend for any Eagles fan.

I read this memoir cover to cover in record time and though the ending is not a surprise (anyone who follows the NFL would know the result) I could not put this book down. It is a compelling read whether or not one is a football fan. While football plays a key role in the book - it is certainly central to Nick's journey and there are some great play-by-plays/behind the scenes accounts of the games leading up to Super Bowl LII - the narrative is about Nick's faith, perseverance, and drive to find himself independent of being a professional athlete. It is the trials & tribulations that he and his wife Tori face in this book that pull you in, making one realize that life challenges are required to not only perform at the highest level (Super Bowl in this case) but also to achieve happiness no matter the profession. I found this story to be exceedingly unfiltered and relatable which was a major draw throughout the read; though I've read other memoirs it was as though I had stepped into Nick's and Tori's lives as it was happening vs. hearing about their journey from a distance or heavy filter. This story was not all football - it is also a touching love story and one that shed quite a lot of light on Tori's struggle with POTS, an illness that affects so many people but is poorly diagnosed. POTS certainly deserves much greater awareness given how misunderstood it is and this book gives it a very real boost. The fact that their relationship blossomed in spite of an incredibly rough period during Tori's illness and while Nick's journey to becoming an amazing quarterback was in full force - not to mention being geographically far apart most of the time - is beyond extraordinary. Pretty amazing story by itself.

I’m a follower of the faith, a former player and current fan so this book was a perfect fit. I read it front to back in three days - which is very abnormal for me. It was entertaining, interesting, touching, and motivational all at once. If you’re a serious NFL fan, you’ll already know most of what happens in the book but Nick shares awesome moments behind the scenes and how his faith impacted his mindset and decision making. What an awesome story and what an awesome God we serve.

Another aspect of Nicks story that struck me is his faith in God and the way he dealt with the world of professional football. I read the book cover to cover in a day. I simply could not put it down. It's not a literary work of art but it's a good story told by a man who seems to have a balance in life that is inspiring. If your a football fan then the insider views of the 2017 season will be of great interest. If your a Christian then Gods hand is more then obvious in the events that took place. Highly recommended

I could not put this book down. The 2017 Eagles season was the most fun I ever experienced as a fan. The Philly Special play is already legendary. Oh yes it was an easy read and literally pulled you along from the cover past the last page. But what really makes this one of the favorite book I`'ve ever read in 69 years is the real and so believable actuality. It was more like watching a movie in front of my soul than reading a book. A very inspiring movie. Not because of the Eagles football of it, even though I`'ve been a rabid starving fan since December 1960. It was inspiring because I heard the Holy Spirit showing me the movie and inspiring my soul. Thank you Nick and Tori and thank you Jesus!

For reference I am a Packers fan. I did not buy this because my team won the Super Bowl but rather to understand who this humble man is and how he got to this point. Nick Foles is truly a great man of God. He exhibits humility, devotion, dedication, and commitment to family. He comically and honestly conveys his journey to the Super Bowl MVP status. He is a man who has always been under the shadow of men seen by the world of sports as greater than him such as: Drew Brees, Michael Vick, Alex Smith, and most recently Carson Wentz. Some of these men he considers true friends. He details his struggles in finding his purpose and explains in detail what it means to be content in your role in life and on the football field. He now only follows in the shadows of the Man who died on the cross for him, Jesus Christ. This is a must read, I have read it in 3 days. I figured it would take at least a couple weeks to work through it but it is hard to put down. Thank you Nick Foles.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and a glimpse into the life and person of Nick Foles. I found it so encouraging to hear from an Elite athlete who has such a strong and grounded Faith. I will forever be a fan and supporter of Nick Foles after reading this book.

I bought this book for one reason. The author, Nick Foles, was recently traded to the Chicago Bears. I have had Bear season tickets for over 40 years. I wanted to find out more about Nick since he will be trying to win the QB job from Mike Trubisky. Just as I am writing this an article appeared in the Chicago Tribune that revealed Foles and Tribusky have formed a good friendship. After reading the book I was confident that this would happen as Nick's life philosophy is all about being nice to people while doing the best he can to be successful. Nick has already pulled off one of the great stores in football and sports history by winning the Super Bowl for the Philadelphia Eagles after starting the season as a backup QB. It would be an even greater story if he could do the same for the Chicago Bears. I will be rooting for him because it is impossible to root against a player who has the class that Nick Foles has. This is a very straightforward account by Nick Foles (with the help of a professional writer) that details the story of his roller coaster career in the NFL, and also his personal journey as someone who found a sense of peace and purpose through his faith. I read it over two nights. I am not a religious person, but I did not find the religiosity off putting. I am an Eagles fan, so this appealed more to me than perhaps others, but I think anyone would appreciate his account and inspiring life story. So long as you don't go in expecting a great work of literature, and see it for what it is, you should be happy.

I have been an Eagles fan for 30+ years. His story of his journey in life is interesting, but not anything more than any other who struggles and adapts with what life throws at us. The way he responds to his critics is fantastic. No tweets, no complaining and no childlessness. He just delivers with results. He mentions the details of all of the games leading up to the Superbowl win. I saw every game, so it reminds me of how it all took place. If I were not an Eagles fan, would give this a 2/5.

Being an Eagles fan, I was a little bias, but I loved this book. It was very easy to read; sprinkled with some humor, and I learned a lot about Nick Foles and the 2017 season. I was happy to see Nick's faith evidenced throughout the book...but it wasn't heavy handed, just "matter of fact." I think Nick's message came through clear about never giving up, and changing your perspective on failure. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves football, loves the Eagles, loves Nick Foles, loves Jesus, or anyone who might be struggling right now...It's a great read...

I’m an Eagle fan all the way! This past season was one of ups and downs and I certainly remember Nick Foles from the Vick days. When he was back after the Carson injury, there was doubt. His first two games were squeaky. I watched every game and became a maniac Eagles fan. I am a RN and the Super Bowl started during my last hour at work...that first touchdown had me hooting and hollering in the unit...ssshhhh... Best day of my life was watching this team win...except for children. You have got to read this! Well done Nick!

This book is so much more than football. It is the unwavering faith that Nick Foles has in God. It really starts with his short time starting at Michigan State in college to becoming MVP of the super bowl. It also involves his faith him and his wife have with the illness she has. As long as he is playing pro football I will be a fan of his. If he eventually goes into ministry I will be interested to see how God used him in this.

I have enjoyed this autobiography of this athlete who "bided" his time on the bench and was READY when needed. We can't all be Super-Stars and start right out of the gate. He waited patiently for his chance.

I am a Christian and have followed Nick Foles during the low and high points of his professional career. His humility has touched me and reminded me that this attitude is the heart of living one’s life in gratitude and service to a personal God who supports us in all we do in the moments of our life.

As a fan of the Eagles, I have admired Nick Foles since he first joined the team in 2012. This is an inspirational book in which Foles comes across as a truly good and decent man who is grounded and sincere. Yes he is very religious and openly shares his faith with the reader, but it is not off-putting or preachy. He is a good guy! I am so disappointed that the Eagles did not permanently replace Carson Wentz with Foles! But I wish St. Nick every success with his new team!

What a great and fun read. I went into this book looking for a behind the curtain peak at what goes into a Super Bowl winning season. What I got was so much more than that. This book inspired me while also challenging me and bringing me comfort. One of my favorite books that I’ve read the last few years. Really glad he took the time to write this. Highly recommend.

You feel as if Nick is talking to you as you read the book. His story resonates with you, and you know that you are better for having read it. If you take nothing away from the book, you will find that his is a man of faith, forgiveness and fortitude. Really enjoyed the book, in fact so much i keep it in my office.

This book is excellent. Very inspiring life story full of ups and downs. Nick Foles shares with the reader his times playing football and his personal time as a husband, father, and servant of God. Very honest portrayal of being human. Easy and enjoyable read.

I read and listened to this book one time. Lots of fun facts about the Super Bowl Year and Nick Foles's career up to that point generally. Knowing that he had to face his own Pro Bowl Poster on his way to the locker room and felt the pressure to succeed with the near insurmountable goal of 27 TD's and 2 INT's was pretty awesome. Lots of #ChristianFactsTime, but it was consistent and that was the point. Here's to hoping he succeeds in the future!

I loved Nick Foles since his very first days as an Eagle. Reading this book though taught me so much about him and confirmed my thoughts that he is a genuine guy.

A truly humble person who walks the walk. In an age where sports figures are often ego driven it is refreshing to find one who gives the credit to God and those around him. God is good and so is Nick.

Definitely recommend this book for anyone that is going thru adversity. Nick Foles is a perfect example of not giving up despite his tribulations. I would've liked for Nick to mention more of him growing up in Austin, Texas and his college days at the University Of Arizona.

My son who is not an avid reader is enjoying this book. He took it on the bachelor party weekend trip to read in the airport. Just goes to show sometimes a bench warmer can do great things against all odds. Let’s face it, sooner or later that is every athlete, so we can relate. Son is enthusiastic. When he is done I will read it too and review from a middle aged lady’s perspective!

A great story with a great ending that has yet to be written

Well written and a great book. I read it on the beach at Ocean City NJ. It really helps you understand what makes Nick Foles tick.

I started off reading this book as a football fan. I quickly realized this is much more. It tells us so much about life and faith. I intend to buy a copy for each of our three children. Thank you Nick!

I'm giving this to my 23 year old son, who has just graduated with a degree in Architecture and starting is graduate work in the fall. I'm going to be telling him to especially pay attention to the last chapter. For myself, thank you Nick for being the person you are and helping me to see myself better.

I enjoyed reading this book to my 10 year old son! It is a great story about a star athlete that had several failures before winning a superbowl. It is a good lesson to hear that winning doesn't come easy!

I love his belief in God especially about if your worrying too much then you are not trusting God's plan for you.

Foles common sense approach to life is enlightening. so simple....but so hard to attain the peace he has found.

One of the best books I've ever read! Trials and tribulations are real, and this book shows the adversity that Nick had to endure, not with just football, but with everything in life to include his wife Tori and his faith with God. Very inspirational. I loved it!

I chose this reading because I was curious about believing. Now, I am more sure of myself believing there is a God.

A must read for any young athlete. Simple, truthful, inspiring story from one of the most honest and open human beings.

Great uplifting read about a hardworking average guy who achieves the ultimate success in his career.

A quick narrative of Foles' experience from college to and through becoming a Super Bowl MVP. A truly nice guy and quick honest read for any Eagles fan. But nothing special either - little if any depth. It's what his audience wants and offered when they want it. Otherwise, there is no reason why Nick should quit his day job to become an author.

100 years from today his decision to stay in football won’t personally matter. His decision to follow God certainty will.

Nick Foles shows what an honest humble person he is. Tom Brady could learn a lot from how Nick sees the world and those around him. Based off of the Super Bowl result, Brady could learn some football from him too.

I liked it. It was like 60% religion, 20% football and 20% life stuff to me. Easy to read. If you watched some of his interviews, the things he talks about in the book are mostly the same. For the football portions, its hard as a writer to describe games (especially older ones) without just focusing on the stats.

This has been the first book I've read since I graduated highschool and it's fantastic! Football fans will absolutely love it as it talks about what it's like to be a quarterback dealing with life in the NFL and many other things. His story is very inspirational and I've grown to be an even bigger can of Nick. I would recommend this to anyone I know!

An interesting read if you're a football fan in general, and probably a near must-read if you're a die hard Eagles fan, but other than that don't expect Pulitzer prize level material here. Nicky Foles is a simple man with a simple mindset, which is why he is now a Super Bowl champion.

I really liked this book and I’m not really religious and was curious how much was going to be included and it wasn’t much at all and was interesting to find out how much it affects how he views everything that happens...the most interesting part was finding out about his wife’s serious illness during his best season of his career (2013)

A very inspiring read. This isn't your typical story about an athlete overcoming some setback. It's the story about how a person of tremendous faith absorbed a number of difficult circumstances and through patience and perseverance reached the pinnacle of his profession. He's now using that platform to encourage others. There's a lot of meaty football in here as Nick describes the Xs and Os behind several successful plays and he gives the reader a great glimpse into life in the NFL - the locker room, the grind, the somewhat instability and eventually the glory. It's a fairly quick and simple read. I'm not a fast reader but I poured through it in just a few days. Highly recommended for the sports fan who loves a good story or anyone who is going through a rough patch and needs a little encouragement.

This 236-page memoir focuses on three aspects of Nick Foles’ life: (1) his experiences in professional football; (2) his romance with his wife Tori; and (3) his personal relationship with God. Football fans – particularly Philadelphia football fans – are probably familiar with Foles’ football background. He went from a second-string player to the most valuable player in the Super Bowl in just three months. Undoubtedly, they are less familiar with Nick’s family life and the depth of his faith in God. The book is easy to read. The sentences are short. There are very few big words – I did see one “ostentatious.” The sentences are in the active voice, often in the first person. It avoids excessive detail, which makes it a quick read. Where necessary, detail is provided. For example, Foles takes the time to explain the development of the play known as “The Philly Special,” which surprised everyone in the Super Bowl. Foles’ faith in God may surprise some readers. Foles does not sermonize. Rather, he explains how he views the involvement of God in his football activities and in his family life. The illness of Tori Foles and the challenges presented by that illness fit perfectly into the narrative. And I like the title. It is a Philadelphia thing. Back in 1980, one of the Phillies World Series heroes popularized the slogan, “You Gotta Believe!” This book fits right in – it is a Philly Special. Believe it!

I loved this book. With Josh Cooley's able help, Nick has told his story in a unique and memorable way that can be enjoyed by avid football fans and less than avid ones. Full disclosure, I know Nick personally, but I do not idolize him. Part of what I love is that he has learned great life lessons not just from his success, but his failures. He talks about both in his book. I have spent time with Nick in three locations, including our home. I have talked and prayed with him and each time I have been struck with his sincerity, humility and genuine desire to make a difference in people's lives for the glory of God. The book is well written and authentically portrays Nick's personal priorities and heart for others, especially young people, which I've personally seen in how he has interacted in person with my own grandsons. He has spoken into their lives on a spiritual basis, and I believe through this book he will speak powerfully into hundreds of thousands of other lives.

Most football fans know Nick Foles' on-the-field story since he led the Philadelphia Eagles to an upset win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII as a back-up to Carson Wentz, who was injured near the end of the regular season. Fans, however, probably aren't aware of his off-the-field story. Foles relied on his faith in God, prayers and trusting in God's plans to overcome doubts about his football career. He says his identity is in Christ and not on the football field. He says he's a follower of Christ, who just happens to play football for the moment. Foles enjoyed incredible success for the Eagles in 2013, throwing 27 TDs, including a record 7 in one game, and only 2 interceptions. He broke his collar bone in Game 8 of the 2014 season and was blindsided by a trade to the LA Rams in 2015. He floundered with the Rams and was released. He had lost his love for the game and considered walking away from the game, even though his old Eagles' coach Andy Reid was interested in him joining the Kansas City Chiefs as a back-up quarterback. After much thought and prayers, he joined the Chiefs. A free agent in 2017, Foles rejoined the Eagles. No one expected he would become the starting Super Bowl quarterback. In addition to his football struggles, Foles writes about how faith got he and his girlfriend, now wife, through her illness--postural orthostatic tachycardia (POT). They both believe in honoring God. Foles says proceeds from the book are donated to various churches and organizations that he and his wife are part of. The book is an easy read (only 235 pages) and strikes a nice balance between Foles' football story and his faith. Readers definitely get to know more about Nick Foles and what makes him tick.

Great book written by a wonderful overcomer. Nick talks about persevering and not giving up on God first, then your dreams. He knows that Jesus never fails and sustain us when we want to give up. When we say we are done, Jesus starts to work and does more than we can ever believe can happen when we believe and get out of His way. We still need to put in the work, but Gods plans are attainable if we keep believing and not give up. Nicks testimony shows the reality of giving your life to Christ and letting go of ourselves and where He can take us in our own weakness because of His Strength. It’s not about religion, it’s about having a relationship with our Creator. When we are weak, He is Strong and carries us past our own abilities if we just believe. Great read.

As a lifelong fan that has always Bled Green this was a very difficult read but I can never thank #9 enough for the gift he has given me. On 2/4/18 I watched my beloved Eagles win the Superbowl & even before the confetti hit the ground I called my Dad. There were no words. The sheer joy that this team gave so many of us can never be imagined. I went to work the next morning & around 8am my Mom called to say my dad was found unresponsive at their home In Bryn Mar, PA. I spent that week at his side begging him to wake up. I had the Victory parade on at his bedside & told him how much Jason Kelce just is forever loved in 215/610/302 etc. On Saturday 2/10/18 I said my final goodbye to my hero. I have not been able to watch or enjoy the game but today I turned a corner & bought this book and all I can say is that it has made me cry happy tears of joy. Nick Foles and this team gave my Dad the greatest gift & this book has made me feel joy and strength again. A must read! Thank you Nick , as your story gives me the ability to smile again.

I just finished reading "Believe It" and can honestly say I had a hard time putting it down. Nick tells his story very well and doesn't puff himself up while doing so. The book makes it clear that he loves Jesus, loves his wife and daughter, and loves playing football in Philly. His trust in the Lord through the various trials and tests he's experienced is inspiring. My hope is that my sons who, along with me, are VERY big Eagles fans, will read this book too and grow in their faith as a result of hearing Nick's testimony.
