Gray wolf Legoshi begins training with giant panda Gohin in order to better protect his friend, but he faces an ethical paradox when he is told he must eat meat to grow more powerful. Meanwhile, herbivorous red deer Louis is choking down the flesh of beasts to maintain his status as the leader of a carnivorous lion gang. Yet when he runs into Legoshi carrying a bag of meat, Louis feels betrayed. Legoshi continues to train, becoming more powerful in some ways yet weaker in others—and then his grades begin to drop. Even worse, dwarf rabbit Haru is mad at him!

Eager for the next one
I'm sad I broke my promise to read a chapter a day. I read it all in one sitting! Each chapter was just more interesting than the last. I have a feeling Legoish is gonna be more popular weather he wants to or not next books.

I didn't think that I would get this attached to this series. Unfortunately for me, I have become involved in the story. I want to know what's going on, and what's happening next. And it's just a natural for me to buy number eight, to finish up the set. Waiting with bated breath, for number nine to come out in november!

I believe I've written more regarding elements of the story and artwork in reviews of the other books. It's great watching the character's development and following them as they come to terms with the world they are growing into.
