Piper still has blanks in her past and it grinds at her soul. Finally getting used to her partner Reaper and his magical abilities that get upgraded frequently by "Pecker" theri goblin chief engineer. Now the town is being attacked by a wolf who thinks he the god Thor. Behind it all is a mysterious criminal mind, "keller." Not much info is in the files, but Piper knows that Reaper knows more than he is willing to say. Mayhem, murder and death of Retrievers are bring the department to a low point. Wolves are ripping and shredding led by Bane ...aka Thor and the two work frantically to try to stop the violence and attempt to take over the town. Finally paired up with their "newbies," Brazen and Kix, they head out to Alcatraz to try and take town Bane and his wolf army. As always, the author has brought us a book that is eagerly awaited and in 'can't put it down" condition. Highly recommended series that I wouldn't miss. Don't lose out on your chance to read this excellent book either. I have voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

‘Bane’s Edge’ is another novel in the ‘Piper and Payne’ series by John Logsdon and Christopher Young. The Paranormal Police Department is busy dealing with more ‘supers’ (supernatural beings) and Piper and Payne are in the midst of it. I found the story’s characters and settings to be very well written and the plot carries on nicely from the first book in the series, ‘Blood Crossed’. Anyone into gritty urban-based supernatural and/or crime fiction with a sense of humour will enjoy this book. It’s great!

Excellent urban fantasy full of action that can stand alone as an exciting adventure. Piper finally comes to grip that she has a team to protect her back. Reaper Payne has constantly evolving powers that he will use against those that sow chaos. He will also do whatever it takes to protect his partner Piper Shaw. Now don't forget Pecker! A truly unforgettable cast of characters! Werewolves galore and spells on boards to be broken. Evil rises to destroy the supernatural police.

I am really loving this series. I wasn't sure at first, but by the end I was hooked . It definitely reads different from the other PPD series, I do like the viewpoints when encountering others in the books. I remember when Ian ran into them, and Reap healed his partner. Must read more!!

Loved This Book! Is it wrong to be confused on who is the main character in a series? In the first book, it seemed to be Piper but with the character development of Reaper, he is quickly becoming my favorite. I love his stoicism and his naivety. I want to hold his turtle and i think turtles are carriers of germs but you just know Agnes is clean. The story was great. Every aspect is believable in a sci-fi sort of way.

I really love a strong, snarky, smart female lead. It is not a must but definitely a plus. Reaper is the perfect compliment to Piper. Their personalities work well and they feed off each other nicely.

Another great Piper/Payne story. Action, Drama, and Snarky Humor combine to push the journey forward to answer the question, where are all of these Uber’s coming from, and what’s their purpose. Adult language and situations add some nice flavoring to the tale. Good Read!

The Piper and Payne series ties in to the Ian Dex Paranormal Police series, with some overlapping of characters. With each addition to the series we learn more about the main characters and meet amazing villains with ever increasing supernatural powers. I highly recommend this series, and the companion series of Ian Dex books.

I was hesitant about reading this series. This is the second book I have read about Piper and Payne. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading of their exploits. The concept is quite unique. The Reaper concept is intriguing to say the least. Piper is snarky as he'll which makes character believable. And love Pecker. Thank for introducing me into their world!

This book hooks you quickly, I think. Then leaves you wanting the next one NOW! I like how Piper finds out more about her past, which of course makes me wonder why she doesn't know! And still wondering *what* Reaper did to get paroled to the PPD. Yeah. Want the next one! :D

Werewolves and Reapers & Retrievers & Horny Goblins. This story is darker than previous books from Logsdon & Young, although it does have its moments of sight gags. I like it a lot, and enjoy the new characters & watching the authors build new worlds. And I love that it’s set in San Francisco!

Building on the first book in the series, a bigger threat then Piper has seen in her time as a retriever uses a coordinated attack to decimate the Retrievers. She and Reaper have to learn to be better partners to survive. And Piper is going to need her partner more than she can imagine. Terrific read, perfect follow up to the first book in the series.

Yogsdon & loung continue to build upon this incredible world of theirs. Creating believable characters in a fantasy world is a challenging endeavor but these two authors do it book after book. Each book builds upon the last and draws me in more and more. I honestly can not wait to see where the next book takes us.

At 62 yrs.old i thought i had read it all,until amazon prime came along this series of books are some of the best i have ever read. Just plain fun and keeps you wanting more.

Great series! A great read

This is the 2nd book (1st being blood crossed) of the fantastically funny urban fantasy series about Piper and Payne from the Netherworld Paranormal Police Department which is linked to, but still works if you haven't read, the Ian Dex series which started with The Merging. The humour is there from the start and the Netherworld team are all the better for being fun, sarcastic and neither perfect nor pc. There is a great mixture of laugh out loud humour, action, storyline and getting to know Piper, Reap and others around them. This is another addictive series which keeps me wanting to read more even though I know I have to get up early for work in the morning?!

A great addition to the PPD books, following Piper and Reap as they continue their battle against the evil Mage Keller. I loved this book, the authors have managed to create a story that draws you in quickly and keeps you in suspense. The characters are starting to develop more and we find out a bit of their backgrounds in this book, all in all a great read.

Bane's Edge part 2 of Piper And Payne. Once again excellent. I found myself reading so fast in parts to keep up with the action and having to tell myself to slow down so as to not miss any vital clues or information. So sad when these stories come to an end, oh well just have to re read which is always fun. Go on do yourself a favour and download this series, find a quiet corner and loose yourself. Enjoy.

What can I say, it is a damn good read, loved it. The second in the Piper/Payne series and follows on with some really enjoyable supernatural action. I really enjoy the universe these books are set in and find myself constantly finishing one book and waiting for the next. 5 stars on the second book in a hopefully very long running series of books .

Book 2 in the Piper and Payne series and this one is just as action packed as the 1st one. We get to see more of and understand better both of the 2 Characters. Just like the Ian Dex series these books just get better and better i couldnt put it down. If you enjoyed the 1st book and enjoyed it i would advise you to read this one too!

Piper and Payne are an unlikely partnership but it works well. They're a bit more serious than the rest of the PPD, less of the innuendos, really good story though. I like the sarcasm and banter.

Second book in the series and im really enjoying the interplay between the characters. I must admit this is my favourite series by far written by these authors.

‘Bane’s Edge’ is another novel in the ‘Piper and Payne’ series by John Logsdon and Christopher Young. The Paranormal Police Department is busy dealing with more ‘supers’ (supernatural beings) and Piper and Payne are in the midst of it.
