My Favorite Volume SPOILERS

Since I'm an Eremika shipper, this is my favorite volume since it has chapter 50. The action, drama and suspense of Mikasa's ribs getting fractured, Hans being killed, Eren learning a new power, and the titan who killed his mother reappearing all made this volume PERFECT! GREAT price! Bought brand new for only ten dollars total, including shipping! Best Christmas present!

Interesting

This issue has some emotional pay-off, particularly with Mikasa and Ymir, and some of the conspiracy mongering does seem to develop back in an interesting way. However, I am unsure of the analogical coherence of the series now. This series can go in a lot of ways.

JUST BUY IT if you read the last one

Great, really had me going there, just great overall, bought a pack since 8 cause i had finished the anime and wanted more, this just has all elements that you would want from a story, sad, exciting, characters are well develop and you feel for them, and even more mystery and that adds more build up :D. Can't wait until ch 58 reaches this, in 14 :D!

This volume holds all the "feel-y" chapters

Just arrived this morning (one of the perks of living so close to the Amazon HQ lol) and it'll join the other 11 issues on the shelf. This was the volume that I was looking forward to because it contains two of my favorite chapters, 48 & 49. Can't wait for 13 now ^_^

terrific

This volume was great. It was very exciting and action packed. Erwin leads a desperate rescue mission to save Eren from Reiner and Bertolt. It hints at, without fully explaining, more of the relationships among Reiner, Bertolt, Ymir, and Krista, as well as Annie, still stuck underground in a crystal. It raises the stakes, with Erwin dramatically declaring that they must save Eren or all is lost. Erwin shows his incredible tactical and leadership abilities even further; he is a leader not afraid to get directly involved in the fighting, even if it means risking his life. Armin shows that, while not the most adept fighter, he is a natural at psychological warfare. Mikasa does what she does best. And even Eren manages to look cool, for a change. Lives are lost, sacrifices are made, and emotions are laid bare. Can't wait for the next installment.

Volume 12 is action packed with emphasis on Ymir

Emphasis in this volume was on action: Lot's of fighting and non-conventional tactics from the Survey Corp. We get a few more morsels of information on the bigger picture. The "Krista" and Ymir relationship develops further as Ymir plays a central role.

Good read.

The series is shaping up rather nicely.

One of the most interesting volumes so far!

Very action packed and a good way to end the second season

Get ready for more adventure!

This is a great volume and I cannot wait for more. If anyone is a fan of this t.v. series, I recommend getting the manga series. There are even some scenes that never aired in the show that are in these mangas and make a lot of things all fit together!

The greatest plot changer comes in this volume. (no spoilers)

After the climatic battle of Vol 11Erran struggles once again to survive. This volume ends strong as readers will discover a new factor in the story that can change everything for good.

Another great volume

Hands down one of the best volumes but I say that every time a new one comes out. It really is amazing. It has a lot of emotions and I knew there was going to be romance in this series. Sorry I like romance mixed in with my action/adventure. Anyways, great volume worth the price.

AOT 12

I loved the AOT series, and if you don't know, be prepared for rage, violence, and plenty of gluttony :) Love it, waiting on more...

I liked it

Lots of crazy shot hose down. It's a say 2follow most of it. And the stuff I don't understand adds mystery

Five Stars

Another great read in the Titan series. Sorry No Spoilers here.

The plot thickens

I can't wait for the anime so I continue to buy the manga. More is revealed in this one and there's more conflict from within. Can't wait until #13.

but great book overrall

Found it weird that Robin and the rest of the Teen Titans weren't in it, but great book overrall.

... son LOVES these books and Amazon is really the best place to get these

My son LOVES these books and Amazon is really the best place to get these. Price and fast delivery. Just as good as it gets.

Tired of waiting...

Was tired of waiting for the anime... Read ahead for a bit using other less-than-stellar online archiving sites (MangaStream has spoiled me; nothing else cuts it for me) before deciding to switch to the offline comfort of my iPad. Artwork may not be as good and the riveting and suspenseful scenes the anime would have put out will lose their shock value, but I regret nothing. Great story. Fantastic, really. That's all you really need at the end of the day. The delivery may be different, but the message is still the same.

works great

Really good!

I have no complaints. This story just keeps getting more and more amazing. A hell of a lot more mysteries occurred and Ymir revealed some of her past histories. Erwin also shined on this chapter.

I never liked manga or any anime. I've never seen or read one in my entire life. Attack on Titan blew my mind, however. I chose to rate this because Amazon sent me an email asking me to...I rate it highly among the manga I read. I dislike nothing about this manga, other than the fact that I eventually get to a end page. I'd recommend this to the entire Amazon community, which is quickly approaching that of the world population...

One Star

Kid is happy, THANK YOU

Such an epic volume of AOT!

Volume 12 delivers a fittingly climactic ending to the long, terrible, terrifying string of events that has just pounded our heroes non-stop since the defeat of the Female Titan. We get lots of good character development, especially of our two "traitors" and small peeks at what they're dealing with (though there's obviously a lot more we don't know yet). There's a very telling moment toward the end where we can see Armin continuing on his dark path, and more beautiful moments for Ymir and Christa as well as a heartfelt speech from Mikasa (I think she speaks more during those few pages than she has in the rest of the series combined? XD). And what a great volume for Erwin! Especially in those last few chapters, the epic Commander Smith shows us just how darn metal he is, both fighting-wise and otherwise. No spoilers, but... when he was shouting, "EREN IS RIGHT BEFORE YOU! FORWARD!!!" I was just like... OMG WHO IS THIS EPIC MAN IS HE GOD?! XDDD Also, with his loyal Levi sidelined, Erwin gets in on the action a bit more and you can see why his "strength" rating in the character guide is just one notch under Levi's. ^^ All that, plus a crazy twist at the end of the volume... Seriously, what a doozy this volume is! This is AoT at its best--a must-buy for all fans! XDDD

Captivating

I watched the first few episodes on nextflix but it’s not in English so I opted to go with the manga to check it out because the complete series exists instead of just season one. This is my first manga so I don’t really have any prior experience to base it off when it comes to the art or story. I like the art it’s not over complex when it comes to telling the story it seems to work for the gritty horror story. So far the story while is well developed it’s easy to get lost turning the pages. The twelfth installment isn’t as amazing as the last one was but it does have a lot of stuff happening. Ymir doesn’t want to go with the other titans unless they get Krista who has given her a reason to live again. With the looming Survey Corps it’s in their best interest to get away before they are caught. However the survey corps is determined to get Eren back because he is the only hope for saving the people inside the wall. Will Eren see his friends again or will it be too late? I really enjoy the series it’s smart giving a little bit of story tossed in with the action as they encounter the titans. In each installment we are given just a little more info in finding out what is really causing the titans and how to stop them. I admit I wish they had been in color but I’ve gotten used to the black and white of the books. It’s really a well-crafted series a perfect mix of story to art, blending so easily into a captivating story. The characters I feel I have been able to connect with even though it’s little snippets we are given glimpses into their pasts revealing more than they share. As my first manga it’s created a quick love for them and after I catch up with the series I can’t wait to start a new one it’s a perfect way to relax if you have about 20 minutes. I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

Lots of big fight scenes; the story is just moving sooooo slowly.

This is the 12th book in the Attack on Titan series. I have to admit this series is starting to loose me a bit. The story is just moving so slowly. At the end of volume 11 I was hoping that we were going to see some interesting things in volume 12 and some mysteries would be revealed….nope not gonna happen. This volume is again kind of a giant fight scene. The illustration is well done and the fight scenes are easy to follow. The Survey Corps are fighting to get Eren and others back from the traitorous soldiers turned Titans. A large battle ensues. Not a whole lot moves forward or is revealed. The biggest reveal is probably what’s going on with Krista and Ymir; Ymir finally reveals the purpose of her rabid protection of Krista. Overall this a decent continuation of the series. However, it’s getting a bit stagnant for me; lots of similar huge battles over and over. I want more progress in the storyline and if I don’t get that in the next few volumes I’ll probably stop reading the series.

Fantastic

Every now and then, each year, a certain manga suddenly appears in the spotlight and becomes popular. Not just that, but so popular everyone seems to know and talk about it. The question then, for everyone, is whether said manga is actually worth reading and lives up to the hype it has caused – something which is quite uncommon considering how this typically works for series. The popularity of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) is undisputable, but worth the read? I certainly think so, as I will explain below. Written by Hajime Isayama, Attack on Titan is one of those series which against all odds, presents an original concept and makes it work. Its story is simple: a threat has befell humanity as ‘Titans’ appeared out of nowhere and drove humans to near extinction after they began devouring one person after another. In order to avoid total annihilation and rebuild society, humans have been forced to live in a small section of the world where three walls defend them from the Titans devouring them. The manga focuses around this premise, along with how the humans fight against the menace that the Titans suppose. The story of Attack on Titan develops beautifully. Not only it is an original concept, which hasn’t been seen a lot in this media, but it also plays and develops it well. Despite the concept behind the story having been played down in the past by other similar apocalyptic series, this doesn’t apply to it. It not only focuses on the sheer horror that the human-devouring Titans present, but also on the very real human society which still exists and attempts to rebuild itself. Attack on Titan succeeds in not leaving any of these elements behind, and paints a clear picture of its world as a whole via its story. It leaves no elements behind, and doesn’t let its complexity bring it down. The story of this series is amongst the greatest that I have seen, and a real pleasure to follow. One of the elements which I like the most of Attack on Titan, however, is its art. Not only is it beautiful, but it manages to convey exactly the sheer horror the Titans present. Though it appears strange at times, this only makes it all the better, as it represents fantastically all which the story represents. Not only the emotions of the characters; but also glory, courage, sadness, happiness, and finally horror precisely when it is required to do so. It completely memorable, and probably amongst the best that I have had the pleasure to read in the last years. It mixes with all of the elements of the story perfectly, and instead carries them forward. The character cast is wide, well-developed, and complex. They all have motivations and are truly products of their world. They are incredibly human, not only the main protagonists (Eren, Mikasa, and Armin), but also the other secondary ones. None seem to fall into the typical stereotypes one might imagine, something welcome. But best of all, is how the author treats the characters as the plot develops. There are no qualms about what happens to them, or how events affect them. Whether characters live or die, they do so in a way which is not only completely natural to the story in the manga, but also in a way in which a reader is immediately marked by. There is no ignoring any certain character, or little events. Everything is relevant, and the author certainly succeeds in conveying this. These elements make Attack on Titan an incredibly enjoyable read. Not only is the story original, but the way it is drawn just makes it even greater. Hajime Isayama presents everything in the most realistic and human way, whether horrifying or courageous, and it is something which made reading Attack on Titan a truly enjoyable experience from the very start. There was no point at which I was bored, and instead I could only continue reading it. Attack on Titan certainly lives up to the hype behind it – a rare occurrence considering how this usually is not the case – and does not disappoint. The way in which all its elements converge make it a truly enjoyable experience, which I recommend for anyone who is interested in manga or good fiction at all. It works perfectly, and I can’t wait to see how Hajime Isayama will continue to deveop it in the future. Attack on Titan is in every way, awesometacular, and fully deserves a rating of 5/5 and a complete recommendation. To not read it would be to miss a truly great work of fiction.

So good

~4/5 [More of my reviews are available on my blog, Geeky Reading, to which there's a link on my profile.] I just have no idea what’s happening with this series anymore. It’s going in one direction, and then it changes, and then it changes again. I just have no clue. There was a big titan fight in this volume, mainly Bertolt and Reiner against the others. Ymir’s loyalty is all over the place, mainly to Krista, but now I’m not even sure. I’m just confused as to what Bertolt and Reiner have planned at this point, because I don’t know what their reason for all this is. There was a rather mean death in this volume, but the whole fight feels very personal. Everyone wants a certain outcome, are working for a certain thing, and I don’t even know what several of their reason’s are. There’s a sweet moment between Eren and Mikasa, but there’s also a surprising development about Eren that I was not expecting. There are just too many questions at this point! I need some answers. Every volume just brings up new things, and I’m starting to want something answered. Anything, at this point. Still, this series is ridiculously exciting and surprising. I’m purely enjoying the ride it’s taking me on, and am very excited to read the next volume.

Never get's tiring.

More time spent with Ymir, Eren, Bertolt and Reiner as they wait for the night. A little more background story and a couple answers but of course they lead to more questions. The rescue effort suddenly appears and they have to run for it. At one part of the battle a horde of titans appears and we eventually see and old face from the first issue. Hannes gets a second chance. A critical situation happens and it appears Eren has a new ability. We also get to see another side of Ymir and can't help but say "Don't do it!"
