Beautiful Illustrations | Simple Story | A Lesson on Repentance and Grace
Arlo knows better than to get out of bed during rest time. And he definitely isn’t allowed to draw on the wall. But Arlo does it anyway, and then desperately attempts to cover up his disobedience before his mom finds out. When his efforts fail, Arlo discovers not only the misery that comes from hiding his sin but also the relief that comes through confessing it. With easy-to-understand language and engaging illustrations, children will learn important lessons with Arlo about repentance and the forgiveness found only in Jesus.
TGC Kids illustrated storybooks engage the hearts and imaginations of kids aged 3–7 by teaching them biblical truths about how to live and grow as God’s children in today’s culture. Published in partnership with the Gospel Coalition.

Great book!
My kids love this book and you can easily move from the book into gospel conversations. Arlo has been an example in our house we all are learning from.
Perfect
I have children ages 4,8,11 and 12. They all loved this book and were able to take something out of it! I love the scripture references and how I was able to use the Bible to along with this story which was so relatable to them. I loved that Arlo has a consequence for his actions of losing his screen time.
More than a one time read!
We loved this book! It was a great teaching tool and my child loved the pictures. I can tell this is one we will pull out again to reteach some of the lessons reinforced in this book. Truth is always best and I’m so glad my child was able to learn from Arlo’s story.
Very relatable for a child!
We’ve had this book for about six months now, and it’s story gets brought up often :). Our young children can definitely relate to Arlo. The most important part we end up discussing is when Arlo gets his consequence for his actions. We talk about him being sad of the punishment, but remembering his mother still loves him. It’s a great segue into God‘s love for us! Highly recommend this book for kids up to age 7.
Confession and Forgiveness
There are not many Christian children's books about confession and forgiveness which is why I especially enjoyed this book. What a great lesson for my daughters to learn!
Simple and Clear
Good book, the message is simple and clear, and it isn't long or cumbersome for younger kids to get through. Daughter immediately loved it and the message of "cleaned up is better than covered up" is easy to understand and relate to. Solid job.
My kids love it and I do too!
Our kids love this book! They ask to read it again and again. It’s so nice to have a book to read that models obedience and also what happens when we make a mistake. When we talk to our parents who are safe, they still love us and want to help us make it right.
Amazing Book
Love this book! It’s one of our boys’ favorites!

Lends itself well to discussion.
This was a gift for my granddaughters. They enjoyed the book and upon completion we were able to discuss what went wrong with Arlo.
