A horrifying secret rises in the aftermath of an archangelic war in New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s deadly and beautiful Guild Hunter world. . . .

The Archangel of Death and the Archangel of Disease may be gone but their legacy of evil lives on—especially in Africa, where the shambling, rotting creatures called the reborn have gained a glimmer of vicious intelligence.

It is up to Titus, archangel of this vast continent, to stop the reborn from spreading across the world. Titus can’t do it alone, but of the surviving powerful angels and archangels, large numbers are wounded, while the rest are fighting a surge of murderous vampires.

There is no one left . . . but the Hummingbird. Old, powerful, her mind long a broken kaleidoscope. Now, she must stand at Titus’s side against a tide of death upon a discovery more chilling than any other. For the Archangel of Disease has left them one last terrible gift . . . .

Good but plot thin

A good read, though it felt a little emotionally flat to me. Admittedly, its hard to encompass a deep story in 360 pages. I liked Sharine's growth and emerging independence. I appreciated that while being independent, she didn't make stupid decisions. I also greatly appreciated that Titus wasn't a controlling male and didn't tell her what to do, how to feel, or who to be. All that said, it was hard to get into the romance; it just moved too quickly IMO. Maybe if the plot had felt less forced or more complex...? It felt like keeping the story moving was a struggle. Her journey to his territory felt endless and uninteresting, as did their journey back to a particular town. I felt beleaguered, weary, and bored, so it was hard to appreciate the budding romance. I think their story deserved a more complex arc and maybe two books. Fans of the series will likely enjoy the book since it centers on a special character, but don't expect the complexity or build up of plot we see in the Elena and Raphael books.

Falls Flat

Lots of flying and little plot. I expect more from Nalini Singh and her Guild Hunter Series, than this book which actually bored me at times. I’ve never been bored by a Singh book prior but this one did it. I really like Sharni and Titus, but the actual plot had none of the grit that I expect from a Singh book. I don’t know why we as readers had to read letters from the past that gave no context to what was happening in the book. Could not have Sharni and Titus have talked about their past in relationship to the events in the letters. I understand that they were supposed to fill in Titus backstory, but that backstory did propel the plot at all. Finding out what had fractured the Hummingbirds psyche was a complete and utter let down.

Titus and Sharine, Love Among The Ruins

The war to end all wars is finished with the deaths of the two most monstrous Archangels, Lijuan and Charisemnon, who filled the world with death and disease; however, the battles against their terrible legacy remain far from over. Titus, now the Archangel of all Africa, needs help fighting the abominations known as the Reborn which his enemies left behind as a grim reminder of their depravity. Bad enough they exist, these newer ones seem to have become even more horrific and have evolved newer strategies to survive. The Lady Sharine, known as The Hummingbird, revered and beloved by angelkind, has spent centuries locked in her own mind after a devastating event sending her into a mental tailspin. She has been emerging out of that long psychological fog while helping to heal others at Lumia: the angel repository of art and all things they hold sacred, beautiful, and unique. Sharine may be considered an Ancient because of her great age; however, she has only recently begun to truly live life again doing so without the weight of millennia that normally affects very old angels. Formerly existing as if she has been in the angel state known as a Sleep and now, newly revived and awakened, Sharine is determined to live a full life again. When Sharine agrees to assist the big, bold, and brassy, Archangel Titus, she must prove to everyone in his Court and other angels that she is no longer a fragile, out of touch, delicate little bird who must be cossetted and protected. Titus is at first stunned that the Cadre would send him not only the most cherished of their race, but an angel who is the very opposite of the warrior he desperately needs. Sharine quickly proves her determination to be an asset rather than an albatross for Titus and his people. Old skills she had long forgotten are awakening so that Sharine’s power comes quite importantly into play helping Titus root out and destroy the remaining deadly menaces. Charisemnon had been secretly experimenting which raised the bar on his malevolent hubris making Titus’s job even harder. All the Archangels remaining have an exhausting and difficult task trying to put their planet back together after so much destruction and devastation with the territories still in turmoil. Sharine has a lot to deal with after coming back to herself realizing all she has missed including being a true parent to Illium, and the issues which caused her mental fracture in the first place. Readers of the series know Illum’s father, Agaegon, was a major contributor; however, much more is revealed about the level of his callousness and narcissism as well as the reasons behind Sharine’s total disconnect from the world. After what she suffered, Sharine feels done with romantic relationships having no time or inclination for them. Titus was quite content in his role of a fearsome warrior who yet enjoyed being a ladies’ man. To their mutual surprise, Titus and Sharine find much joy, laughter, and even love is still to be had in these dark and difficult times; an Archangel’s life can still be full of jubilant surprises. Ms. Singh continues to give her readers a story with great heart, humor, and some very intense moments adding new layers of depth to the Guild Hunter world. Fans will be well pleased at this very fine addition to the series that shows no hint of slowing down with so much more to say about these beloved and compelling characters. (

Uninspired...

I was hoping for more interaction between Sharine and Titus. Instead there was a lot of interaction with other people. The romance was forced and - considering there are only 2 or 3 love scenes spaced out over long spans of time - it was oddly rushed. I didn't feel their attraction. I only felt that they appreciated each other. Also, the ending seemed abrupt. It read like this was really a vague idea the author had to tell the back story of some characters but she didn't have the same passion for them as for Raphael and Elena. Also, there was such a focus on Sharine and her needs, that I found Titus boring and too accommodating. I usually enjoy this author and mature romances, but this was a miss for me. I recommend it for fans of this series, because it moves things along. But don't expect a grand romance.

Should have been a novella

So... This wasn't bad, but if I had to find a word to describe.... Milquetoast. it's just completely bland, like a slice of toasted bread. Good, but... Not anything particularly exciting. I feel like the overall series plot is suffering from over extension and endless conflicts etc. I find myself caring very little about the plot anymore. The romance in here was also so, so bland. Not bad, but really on the level of a novella, not a full length novel. I skipped/skimmed the last two books and the funny thing is that I'm not really lost. That says a lot about the plot. I'm just waiting for Nalini to finish up the Illium/Aodhan plotlines so I can quit this series in peace. I will wait for reviews before ordering the next. Also I really don't want to read about random characters next either, so hopefully it will come soon... Anyway, taking a pause on this series again.

Mature Romance and Many New Characters

FINAL DECISION: This was definitely not a pairing that I expected, but it worked so well. Titus is sweeter than I expected with him playing the long-suffering brother of four sisters. Sharine is a woman who is finding herself with a vengeance, reconciling her past, and showing the strength that she lacked in the past. Loved these two and enjoyed being reoriented to the aftermath of the archangelic war. THE STORY: In the aftermath of the archangelic war from the last book, the new version of the reborn continues to threaten the continent of Africa. Titus is a powerful archangel, but he cannot stop the scourge alone. Instead of the warrior help he thinks he needs, he is sent the Hummingbird, an unworldly angel known as a great artist. Sharine has only begun to find herself after emerging from her broken mental state. The two must join forces to prevent the reborn from overtaking the world. OPINION: This book is a lovely mature story with characters who have led full lives. That gives this book depth and interest. This book had the feeling of a woman's journey. It is Sharine who is the focus here. She is finding herself after being the beloved Hummingbird who is vague and not of the world because her mind was broken. Here, she is rediscovering herself, dealing with the heartaches of her past, and building a new life and purpose for herself. Titus is an archangel who has enjoyed life and then is quickly devastated by an angel he did not expect. Titus is amazingly loyal and strong, but there is an incredible sweetness to his relationship with Sharine. These two have strength and I enjoyed their interaction. The aftermath of the war is not a pleasant place, but this book has more hope and comfort than I expected. Indeed, while there are still bad secrets, this book feels much lighter after all the death and destruction in the prior two books. I also enjoyed that his book marks a change in the series as we get a whole new cast of characters whose stories can be told in future books. That bodes well for the series continuing. WORTH MENTIONING: Raphael and the Seven are not main characters here, they only make small appearances. CONNECTED BOOKS: ARCHANGEL'S SUN is the thirteenth book in the Guild Hunter series. The romance here is self-contained, however, the world and the characters assume familiarity with the other books in the series. Do yourself a favor and start at the beginning. STAR RATING: I give this book 4.5 stars. NOTE: I received an eARC of this book via Netgalley which was used to prepare this review. I was not required to write a review or to write a positive review. All opinions contained herein are my own.

Good read but didn’t resonate as the others in the series

I love The Guild Hunter series. I have been anxiously awaiting this book excited at the prospect of Titus and the Hummingbird. Overall the story was good. However it felt like a filler book until the next book in the series comes around. I have a feeling Aodhan and Suyin might get together. The book didn’t really resonate with me like the others had. I didn’t feel immersed in the plot or characters. The plot felt rushed and some parts of the story didn’t mesh with others. I suspected I would feel this at the beginning of the book when the prologue timeline kept shifting. I felt like there was a lot of telling and not showing. And to be honest not worth the hype of the long release date in November. Titus was the most fleshed out character. Sharine minimally so. What helped her the most was the previous books in which she appeared. I feel like Nalini was disconnected from this character. Sharine’s development into this woman of fire and light seemed forced. This one probably needed a longer incubation and reconsideration of its purpose in the series. It could have been a short story at this point tbh. I don’t know the deadlines and pressures behind the scenes but if you’re going to do it then do it right IMO. Hopefully the next books are well fleshed out.

More investigation than romance

This story is more a take of The Hummingbird finding herself than it is a romance. She follows the usual trope of showing up at the alpha archangel manwhore's home to help with the reborn problem. Much verbal sparing happens and he falls for her. Of course the actual interaction between characters is so spread out between reborn stuff that no actual relationship stuff happens until you are seventy percent through the book. At that point the author apparently realized she had a deadline and rushes to put it to bed. The end itself was remarkably unsatisfying and imho not a HEA. While the verbal sparing is good and it's interesting to see the world post cascade that wasn't enough to save this book.

I'm disappointed

The first short chapters set the scene for a great book, lots at stake but the story backed away from real danger, real consequences. And the Hummingbird suddenly turned into Elena light. NO. And Titus was a one dimensional character when he had so much potential. I am just so disappointed. What happened? This was a paranormal romance so there are certain tropes that are expected. Danger and paranormal elements are in this book. Good! Danger with consequences, no. Not in this book. Everything was cleaned up and taken care of quick with no consequences. The romance was he can't stand her, she can't stand him and then suddenly they have the hots for each other. I'm going to reread Archangel's Blood. It's still my favorite book.

Loved it, needed more

Is a great story. I just found myself wishing for more of those... quiet, together moments better Titus and Sharine. Book was mostly them dealing with outside forces, not taking time in the quieter moments. I still loved it, I just wanted more of those moments.

Overall story development not so much a romance

I am sad to say, my high hope for the book was let down. While I enjoyed the "hummingbirds" history and development here, I feel 0 grounds for the development of this romance between the two. No emotional connection I could find. Singh has written some of my favourite romances, I know she can do so much better (archangels blade, kiss of snow). I was actually bored at times reading this and skipping pages. Be warned this is more of an overall story development than a romance. Maybe 600 pages would have done the couple justice. Singh cert ainly isnt a blind pre-order for me anymore.

An unexpected romance

How a world renowned artist could be an asset to an archangel battling a rampant plague... Okay, now I’m up-to-date with the series. Two days to catch up with the last 3 years books, and it was quite a ride, I am still recovering from the dramatic read Archangel’s Prophecy was for me. But now we are back to the usual Guild Hunter novel, outside when it is starring Elena and Raphael. A couple total opposite, a mission, danger and sparks. I confess at first I would have loved to read more about New York post apocalypse world. And if one thing was certain until the blurb was revealed sometime earlier this year, I never expected those characters to have their own story. In fact, except for Raphael, the cadre’s members appear all as unapproachable, too powerful or inhuman, too far away from us humble ants walking this earth for only a few seconds in archangelic term. Why I was very surprised by Titus, he is in no way the haughty and supercilious being I expected him to be. Of course he is everything the alpha word means, but without the cruelty often associated with the Archangels. He is honorable in every ways that count, respectful of his people and women. And while he sees humans as mostly fragile creatures, he does not abuse of his position as leader in his part of the world. And once he has meet the one woman who awakens all his senses, he falls hard. Ashani is not whom I expected her to be. She is the one struggled to like at first, not for default of kindness and care, but rather because she does not reconcile with the image of the Hummingbird I had of her. She was for me this lovely but broken living outside this world artist, the ethereal creature many angels, and even archangels protect from the reality of the realm. So I labored to see her as a woman, one with needs and lovers. Her awakening was difficult to understand, why now, why after so much time. Plus many aspects of her past are left in the dark, like where her powers come from and how she could have so easily forgotten about them. She might have been someone else, it would have been easier for me to connect with her. After, the romance is lovely, a bit hastened by the end, as I would have maybe liked a bit of wooing on Titus’ side. But for me the romance was a bit secondary to the quest of purging their land of the pestilence left by the archangel of diseases. 4 stars for this intriguing read with a much unexpected couple paired with a mystery to solve while trying to salvage what was left to stand up after the dire events from Archangel’s war.

Improvement with weak characters - 3.5-4

A major improvement over Singh’s last Guildhunter novel that is hampered by the heroine’s one-dimensional Mary Sue-isms. Minor spoilers. ———— Background: Archangel’s Sun explores The Hummingbird/Sharine’s backstory, her emergence from centuries of ‘benign madness,’ and her participation in the clean up after Lijuan and Charisemnon’s war on the Cadre. The latter villain’s machinations are particularly relevant as The Hummingbird/Sharine has been managing Lumia, adjacent to Charisemnon’s (former) territory, where much of his experimentation with diseases and carriers have taken place (and spilled out of control). For reasons that are not particularly well-fleshed out, Sharine is seconded to Titus’ Court within the first chapters. It is unclear what she was supposed to do initially (run his household? Blunt his rough edges?), but she winds up enmeshed in the fight to eradicate the reborn from the continent. Along the way, Sharine comes into her full potential and begins a romance with Titus, whose initial befuddlement over Sharine’s transformation from the fragile, ‘broken’ Hummingbird into a formidable Ancient quickly gives way to respect and approval. ———— Pros/Cons This is a fast, exciting read that showcases Singh’s ability to world build. While Archangel’s Sun deals with the aftermath of the Archangel War, there’s a sense of this being a clean break from the previous narrative, The Seven, and Raphael, although these are obviously peripheral to the story and it’s clear that they’ll be subjects in succeeding installations. As someone who disliked Archangel’s War, I found this book a fresh look at where the world stands from the perspective of Titus’ court. From the descriptions and backstories of the newly risen Cadre members to a distant view of the rebuild in New York (without getting sucked into a story solely about Raphael’s territory), and the introduction of new plotlines/arcs, it breath new life into the series. AS is quite neatly done and such an improvement over its predecessor that it pains me to identify the book’s weakness as it’s heroine. Sharine is stunningly beautiful, brilliantly artistic, a treasure of Angelkind, apparently in possession of unforeseen offensive abilities, singlehandedly saves the day multiple times, and is able to uncover/counter Charisemnon’s evil plans, all the while dispensing nuggets of wisdom about life, love, and motherhood. She’s evidently qualified to do the latter because her son has forgiven her absence and failures as a parent over the centuries she acted as the child in their relationship. It is all so blithely glossed over and lacking in complexity that it’s almost insulting to anyone who has had to manage an adult with acute mental illness. She is a paragon that is - quite literally - without flaw. And...it’s boring. SHE is boring. There’s very little growth or tension. Sharine’s uncovered memories (very reminiscent of Sahara’s self-induced madness in Heart of Obsidian, Singh’s other major series) do nothing to create a three dimensional character outside of explaining why she had developed a fear of abandonment from an early age. This remains a 3.5-4 star effort for me based on the storytelling, not the characters; in the end, Sharine and - to a lesser extent - Titus are rough composites against the brilliance of Singh’s storytelling. I’m eager to purchase the next Guildhunter novel, but my hope is that Singh can focus on giving us characters are filled out as, say Elena or Ashwini (my personal favorite).

Eh...

I didn’t hate it, but didn’t love it either. I usually enjoy waiting for the next book in the series just after finishing the current one. I reread the series from book one to the last one about a month before the newest one is released so the Guild Hunter world is fresh in my memory. Something I cannot put my finger on was missing. It was about a 100 pages lighter than other books in the series. Unexpectedly no detail was given on the final battle between Titus and Charisemnon. With all of the detail in former books on battles, the lack of such in this one is very noticeable. We learn Sharine’s backstory with detail, but Titus’s is treated like an afterthought with one page chapters in letter form. The romance between Sharine and Titus wasn’t forced exactly. It was more like hey let’s do this before the book ends. Seems as though the author was more focused on other projects. I liked what was there, but missed her usual verve for detail.

slow burn

I should preface this review by saying I wasnt remotely interested in reading a romance with these two characters as the main interest. As secondary characters I thought they added rich flavor to the guild hunter world and definitely endeared themselves to me but I wasnt sure they'd have enough about them to keep me interested. BUT its Nalini Singh and she's surprised me a time or two with her pairings. might be some spoilers below** Alas, this was not the case for Archangel's Sun. The book was slooooooow. Sharine and Titus dont express an interest in one another until around 40%, first kiss is around 70% and one sex scene around 90%. They do dance as angels at the 95% mark but that didnt feel like a real sex scene just heavy purple prose with words like dazzling, spinning, lightning and clashing together. I only tracked it vaguely because I was bored and hoped it would pick up in some way. Not to say this is a bad book, but my rating of 3 stars is simply because nothing happened. Sharine aka Hummingbird is sent to help Titus while he's battling the reborn. Not sure really why she was sent other than angels look to her as a symbol of hope. I think what drags the story down is that its heavy on reminiscing to give us 5 milleniums of history about these two instead of letting the romance run its course from present day. The hummingbird is in her head for pages and pages thinking about Illium as a cute baby, happy baby, fun baby, delightful baby and whatever else you can throw in to say Illium is awesome which we already know as long time readers. Titus reminisces a lot about his sisters and his mom who are amazing examples of womanhood. (I agree) If they had been in the story more based on the glimpses we did get and if they'd showed up earlier, this book would have been far more exciting. Older siblings and only baby brother falling in love. But nope. His mom the bad a$$ is sleep and his warrior sisters are busy fighting for Alexander so we're left with Sharine and Titus trying to carry the entire plot and romance of the book by flying around and zapping the reborn left behind from Lijuan and Charissmen. Fly over Africa, slash slash, undead gone, Sharine and Titus share 3-4 sentences of witty dialogue(which I loved) then 35 pages of Sharine thinking Illium sure is the best son ever and Titus wondering for just as many pages how his sisters would deal with him being in love. Then we have odd one paragraph letters posted as individual chapters that say nothing we dont already know. I had a boy baby, Alexander, signed the general. Titus joined my army today, signed Alexander. My brother is awesome, signed your sisters. The basis of the letters were frivolous and I kept expecting them to reveal something super secret but they didnt. They're just...there and we dont need them to tell us Titus is a great warrior because we've gotten that from the series itself. *sigh* All in all it ranks up there with Jason as my least fave of the series. the author does explain that the hummingbird was lost in her head for half a millenium because she fell into a severe depression based on a sequence of events. Illium's father trying to explain his actions and part in her depression seemed weak at best but at least we know. He's just a jerk and always will be one. LOL. Other characters in the series only make occasional, too brief pop ups via phone calls and video meetings so dont expect any cute exchanges between Elena and Titus. So surprised she didnt call or message him in some way to make a joke about him with Sharine especially since Illium and Aodhan both talk to her to see if the relationship rumors are true. I tried to console myself by saying this was a mature romance but honestly what is mature? These angels live forever so time is relative. I wish we'd gotten Titus and Sharine spending time at his house falling in love with pop up visits from the archangels who were helping with the clean up in Africa so that would give some lively interactions as they witnessed their icon coming to life again in such a vivid way. Heck, I would have loved a race between Titus the archangel and Sharine the hummingbird showing where Illium got his incredible speed from to add some action to this. When I thought about this hard, I realize they dont even really spend much time together. They are separated for large chunks of time and their actual conversations together could probably fill a few chapters. read it but you won't miss anything if you wait a bit. oh and now angels can get sick with the reborn illness though we were told they couldnt catch anything outside the rogue archangel Elena killed in book one and that wasnt an illness but a build up of the serum they create to make vampires. I think that annoyed me more than Titus and Sharine being boring.

My favorite couple in the series so far...

Archangel's Sun is book 13 in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series. Unlike the previous two installments, it does not focus on Raphael and Elena which I appreciated. While I like Raphael and Elena, I am not the type of reader that enjoys reading about the same couple as the focus for multiple books. I like to hear about how they are doing, but not continue with the ups and downs of their relationship. This book is about Titus and Sharine, two characters that have been around throughout the series and finally get their time in the spotlight. Titus has always been the strong warrior archangel of Africa, but until recently Sharine had been lost in her own mind due to an until now unknown traumatic experience. The two seem like complete opposites on paper, but they actually are a great match. I really enjoyed their banter and they are my favorite couple in the series so far. There was no depression or feeling of one trying to impose their will on the other. There was also very little of what I like to call emotional constipation. Just two people sorting out their feelings in an honest manner during a very difficult situation. I feel that there could have been more time in the book dedicated to them interacting and a possibly longer storyline for their romance to develop, but the storyline is where this book falters somewhat. The story takes place in the aftermath of a great angelic war. There are "reborn" aka zombies all over the world and no one seems to know what to do with them or how to stop the spread of the contagion. This story builds up to figuring out a way to handle the situation. The problem is that we do not realize it until the very end. Until then, the story meanders as the characters talk to villagers and secondary characters, fly all over the continent, and the author presents flashbacks through old letters, all of which is very interesting and adds to the backstory but does very little for the actual story. The result is that the story drags and the reader ends up losing focus. It is definitely not the most coherent storyline Singh has ever written, and what could have been a masterpiece ended up being an enjoyable read but not an outstanding book. The Guild Hunter series should be read in order and this particular installment is NOT the place to start reading the series. New readers will be completely lost. People who follow the series will enjoy the main characters and watching their romance develop. I love Sharine and Titus is possibly the best leading man in this series. The plot is not the best, but it moves the overall series along so it needs to be read. I just wish we could have gotten more of Titus and Sharine and possibly a more coherent story.

Disservice to Mental Illness.

I think if a writer writes about a mental illness they do damage to people who suffer from it if they don’t do their research. Trauma is at the heart of what happened to Sharine. I would have never guessed that PTSD was what was wrong with her. I suffer from CPTSD. That was not what PTSD is my experience or in anything that I have read about it. The fact that the Hummingbird all of a sudden decides to ‘pull herself up from her bootstraps,’ is extremely harmful to people. Nalini Singh DID NOT DO RESEARCH. Many times I was told to ‘just get over it.’ Others are told to ‘just get over it.’ I felt like there was some deep character flaw because I could not ‘get over it.’ That is not what PTSD is. PTSD means that people have flashbacks. Sometimes the flashbacks can be so subtle they can be from a smell. You are gripped by the flashbacks, not the other way around. People need medication and professional help in order to go on the healing journey for this disorder. PTSD often results in suicide. Just look at our VETS and the fact that 22 vets die every day because of it. These men would love to just ‘get over it,’ through will power. Domestic violence survivors would love to ‘just get over it,’ through will power. The fact that people are susceptible to suicide really makes this treatment of trauma extremely dangerous because the wrong person reads it and punishes themselves because they can’t do what the Hummingbird did. In contrast, the story was really boring, and falls really flat. Nothing happened.

Slightly disappointed

NS is truly one of my all time favorite authors and I’ve been incredibly excited for this book so it’s difficult to say I was a bit disappointed. She built these awesome characters and started developing a beautiful romance set amidst a tragic, reborn infested background but the relationship between Titus and Sharine seemed to go crazy fast. It seemed cut short in my opinion, like it skipped a few steps. There were hardly any private moments of deep connection or togetherness and I’m not talking about sex. I really missed that because usually no one builds a relationship like NS does. Otherwise I enjoyed it and it’s not a bad addition to the series just wished for more I guess.

Sweet but uneventful

This book was sweet, but ultimately uneventful. There were a couple of cute moments in the beginning when Titus is realizing Sharine isn’t quite who he’d imagined she’d be, but most of this book is just anticlimactic. Honestly, the only conflict between these two is insecurity that maybe the other only wants them for a temporary lover. (Which, in the end, Sharine won’t commit anyway, so what was the point of any of it??) It’s got a lot of clean up of the reborn, a teeny tiny concern about potential angels being infected, but nothing overly concerning. Neither Titus nor Sharine is in any particular danger, really. The relationship just “happens” as a result of them being near each other and liking each other. They spend a great deal of time apart due to him having his territory and her having hers- with no real plans for that to change and no real commitment (at least on Sharine’s part) at the end. I suppose you might call it a happily for now, but it’s just so lackadaisical. Poor Titus finally feels like he found the one for him, but Sharine, well, she likes him, even loves him...but...just-not that much that she’d be willing to change anything in her life for him. And I get it. She’s on this journey of emotional healing. But I wish that Singh had given her that journey as part of another book because this does not meet my criteria for romance or a standalone story. And it’s way more “women’s fiction” than romance. The love story feels thrown in and superfluous. The book was plodding, with little of interest happening. It felt like “filler” to get on to the next interesting thing. As in, well, we need to tell everyone how the reborn were purged and the communities were rebuilt. In the meantime, let’s have these two old people have sex one time and decide to have a peaceful, boring, noneventful romance where they talk on the phone a lot and see each other once in a while. It’s pointed out multiple times that relationships (like Titus’s mother and father) who stay together for 75 years then happily move on from each other are what constitutes happy relationships, and that is the impression that we get here- that these two will continue to spend time together as long as they are both into it. Which just feels like a letdown to me. She has consigned him to “the boyfriend” until she is ready to commit or ready to cut him loose. It’s just so blah. There is so little intensity to either of them, but especially Sharine. The book still gets three stars because it did move the series forward and the writing itself is easy to follow. I listened to the audiobook, and Justine Eyre did a decent job, especially with all those accents.

The warrior and the hummingbird.

So, the first Archangel to ever be featured on the cover of a guild hunter novel I never expected would be Titus. I liked him well enough as a character, but both him and Sharine were as secondary as characters can get. As I said in my last review, GH as a series is running on fumes for most of the storyline has already been played out, and as a result these newer books seem to suffer from repetition. It’s fine to have more of a focus on the immortals rather than the Guild Hunters, yet that seems the stuff of a spin off series perhaps. Consider that Archangel’s Sun is still considered a Guild Hunter novel despite the fact that the archangel featured was not Raphael and did not fall for a Guild Hunter. In fact, Titus didn’t even meet with the leader of the African guild until after the seventy percent mark of the story. Raphael had barely a few lines in his cameo and there was no Elena whatsoever. Seeing Sharine’s story fleshed out helped us as readers since her earlier introduction in the books to understand why she was so broken. But like with Lumia which she now heads, introduction of her inner offensive power seemed a bit of a retcon. Titus’s interaction with his people reminded me a bit too much of Raphael. I suppose within the hierarchy of the leadership in various archangelic courts they are expected to all have seconds, weaponmasters, spymasters and the like. Of all the battles left within the territories, Titus was the only one still raging because of this particular virulent strain of reborn. Therefore, seeing him planning with his people seemed like a rinse and repeat of what Raphael did during his battles against Lijuan. The vampire uprising in other territories given as the reason more Archangels did not offer aid in Africa seemed more like a plot device in order to give Sharine time to shine and bond with Titus. I do remember the reborn being used as a similar excuse for Raphael being delayed aid from allies during Legion. Overall, it was a pleasant read, I enjoyed the banter between Titus and his people and Sharine. Was I left believing that Titus was a man who had previously loved many women but never settled for one, to suddenly decide over the course of a few weeks that Sharine was the one? No. The story will always suffer by the fact that there are no time jumps, because Elena’s mortal friends and family are important for the now. But getting the readers to believe that immortals who tend to move at a snails space when it comes to matters like this will suddenly fall in love in a few weeks will never be plausible.

Joy

I’ve had Archangel’s Sun since the day it was released in the US. yet until 2 days ago was unable to read it. Maybe the (newish) state of our world and the implications that implies that influenced me, I’m not sure but I’d waited. It was well worth all the waiting!! This book it turns out is one of the highlights and joys in my life at this time. I haven’t fully embraced a book or story and two such strong, vibrant and big hearted characters in quite sometime. Sharine “The Hummingbird” and Titus are now greatly loved favorites. This is a story of Sharine’s “becoming”. She is a mix of emotions, memories and thoughts. Uncertain which ones are which, she makes a surprising discovery of strength and more than one type. There is much of her history revealed and possibilities of more to come. This is the story of her “becoming”. It is enthralling and joyful to journey with her. This is a story of Archangel Titus’s struggles with a world devastated. He is tired. Everyone around him is tired. They all work tirelessly to battle the aftermath of Lijun and Charisemnon’s scourge and evil. We journey with them as they make new devastating discoveries as well as significant new hopes. When Sharine and Titus begin to work together the discoveries pull them into one another’s orbits more than either desires. The results are life altering. It’s a wonderful book. Well worth all of the time you give to read and reread it! Indulge yourself if necessary, you won’t be disappointed! It seems fair to note that I am a true Nalini Singh fan. I am a loyal follower of the Guild Hunter Series. I await each and every release with excitement and the barest patience. I preorder each one as soon as it’s are available. I have unequivocally enjoyed every single one. That is true of all of Ms. Singh’s books. While, I’ve enjoyed some more than others, I am not going to write anything less than a favorable review for any of them. I write them from the heart, simply the opinion of a reader. *any and all grammatical errors, misspellings or type-o’s are done with purpose, to entertain. ; )

Great Book

I liked this book a lot and I have to say that I'm not one of Ms. Singh's super fans. I even skipped a book in the series (Archangel's Enigma) because I didn't care about that side character and Ms. Singh had written about one too many virgins. Sharine, the heroine, is a fascinating character. She has many layers that affect everything she does and has done. For one reason, she's thousands of years old. She has been called the Hummingbird and she's Ilium's mother. One thing that was interesting to me is that she has a living ex who is the father of her child. He is the person who caused her mental breakdown due to a very gratuitously cruel act. It was important to get their interactions right, and Ms. Singh did a great job. Titus is also thousands of years old, but he is millenia younger than Sharine and naturally that's one thing that occurs to him as they become closer. He's a great character - fleshed out and interesting. This book takes place over months (I don't think it was a year). The characters are very old and as such maybe don't fall in love instantly. I liked that as they are in the middle of a war against the reborn and are not having an easy time of it. The need of a continent outweighed the wishes of the two, which is why the romance plays out over a longer timeline. The story itself is engrossing. I had a hard time putting my Kindle down.

I loved it

What a fantastic novel to start off 2021. Archangel's Sun is the 13th book in the Guild Hunter series and it takes place in the aftermath of the cascade and archangelic war. This was Titus and Sharine's story. Well now this was a pairing I never expected, never knew I wanted and I absolutely loved. Titus expected a gentle, fragile woman and got Sharine instead, a woman coming back into her own self and their story was one that had me hooked. These two were amazing together. They baited and aggravated each other and their back and forth banter had me highly amused. I loved seeing the perceptions they both had of the other fall away as they grew to respect and love each other. There was a cast of supporting characters who all provided excellent support and balance and added so much to the story. This authors writing is magic, as the novel was well written with graphic details and made each scene easy to picture in the minds eye. The plot was intriguing and engrossing and kept you on your toes and I loved it all. But most of all I loved seeing the Hummingbird come into her own. The development of her characters was exceptional and I loved that Titus saw her for who she was, fell in love with her and was willing to wait. This was a phenomenal read and an excellent addition to this series. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of paranormal romance.

Author continues to flesh out her Guild Hunter world

I won't go over the story and details, you can read those in far better reviews than mine. I am very pleased with the fact that the author is continuing to expand her world/universe of this book series, by fleshing out other characters and developing stories for them. In this particular novel I think she has left room to be able to explore the Hummingbird's past traumatic events further. She left it vague enough that it could be developed either as something sinister and targeted or just something previously unknown that the characters could discover later. I like that, some may not. I think it is great that she left it open enough that she has not written herself into a future corner and can allow the plot to develop creatively and naturally as she continues to write the GH series. I own all of her books from the Guild Hunter series and I enjoy all of them, even the ones that focus on charas I wasn't expecting (like this one). Personally I kind of hope that she pairs up Raphael's mom with another sleeper, they are super low on numbers so if enough one woke up to fill the gap that could be a neat novel. I had always thought she and Alexander would be a think, but the end of Archangel's War made it obvious that he already has someone. Other than that I hope Illium finally gets a nice girl! His first one was a poor choice for someone so loyal so I hope he gets a fantastic one when it is his turn to get his story written. :)

Superb pairing

Titus and Sharine are one of my favorite couples in this world. I absolutely loved them together. Right from the start Sharine gave Titus a run for his money. He didn’t know whether he was coming or going. She was so different than anyone was used to her being and it made her so mad to be treated as she had been treated for millennia. The fog has lifted from the Hummingbird and she has once again become Sharine, mother of Illium and surrogate mother to Aodhan and Raphael. She helps Titus get rid of the reborn covering Africa after being sent there by Raphael. This was more of a love story than an action packed book like the previous book, not that there isn’t plenty of action. The war is over and they are all playing clean up from Lijuan and Charisemnon. I think it has its place in the series. They can’t be forever in war. They need time to rebuild and they were still finding the reborn and rebuilding. I look forward to the next book; which sounds like it might be Suyin paired with Aodhan and I hope not as he needs a sunny upbeat person like Bluebell after all he’s been through, not another person who needs saving. But we shall see.

They didn't have sex until the book was at 90%? Not pleased about it. Other racially problematic issues. Note: small spoiler

In all of those pages, they had sex once? And then it was indirectly spoken of for their second time? Just for that, it deserves 3.5 stars. It would have been closer to 5 stars if there had been more than, I think it's called "purple prose?" This must have been written with the Tween readers in mind. I sure hope it wasn't because he was Black and she was white. "Must not touch her, she's such a treasure ..." Or maybe this was written for Amish readers. Why not just put both in bundling bags and call it a day? Please just don't put a book like this in the Romance category. It's an Adventure novel. These people were prudes because the author made them that way. I didn't plan to spend $8 for prudery. I'm reading this as an escape, not to want to pull my hair out by the slowest burn "romance" ever. Then they ended by long-distance shacking up together, when all other couples in the series married? I feel like some underlying racial and problematic issues were at play here, or I wouldn't be so upset. I had a feeling this story would end up being problematic. I should have saved my money. And why was this guy overly loud? It was just annoying. Also, a Black female angel has never been a romantic lead, either. Black women have been supporting characters only in these stories. I think I'm done with the series until then, which is really too bad. Black women vampire or angel leads/heroines matter, too. No more silent or sassy Black women as sisters or friends, please. I feel really down after reading this.

Good but not outstanding (like the other Guild Hunter novels)

I would say book #13 is good... but not outstanding like the other Guild Hunter novels. The world building and the story arc are fascinating and compelling respectively. But the "romance" and character development is rather, well, lackluster. Note that you MUST read the prior Guild Hunter books to understand the intricate plot and the characters relationships. I liked Titus as a character more in the prior books than in his own book, which is rather sad. This book failed to reveal additional layers to his character. As for the Hummingbird. Without spoiling this book I have to say I was greatly disappointed in her "big reveal" for why her mind fractured. Prior Guild Hunter books depict awful things that happened to MANY of the male characters... I can only guess that since Hummingbird is a gentle female artist the author hesitated to make her backstory too grim or ugly. I think that was a cop-out to be honest. I just snorted and ignored that part of the plot. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the prior Guild Hunter novels.

Boring, boring, boring

Boring, unneeded book. It was the same thing over and over for three hundred pages. I only gave it two stars because of the glimpses of Illium and Aodhan we got to see. When we finally get both of their books it better not be boring or I will be one unhappy reader.

Outstanding!

Nalini Singh crafts a brilliant tale about a larger-than-life hero, Titus, the Archangel of Africa and a near-ancient angel, once fragile, who is becoming who she is meant to be, Lady Sharine, the Hummingbird. She is the great artist of the angelic world, now managing an angelic art outpost known as Lumia. Let’s just say that now she wields a throwing knife in addition to a paintbrush! Together, they become an extraordinary force to battle against the abominable remnants of an archangelic war. They uncover a deadly secret and work to eradicate its existence – a dire threat to the world’s hierarchy. Titus is so very comfortable in his skin and lives life full throttle. Sharine, has healed herself after a long time of being broken – and emerged as a force to be reckoned with, much to Titus’s surprise (and delight). There are wonderful warrior women throughout this story who add so much to the narrative (fist bumps Nalini Singh!). I cannot wait to see where the Guild Hunter series goes next. Buckle up, and get ready to fly!

Pretty sweet treat

Sharine was utterly fascinating! Her continuing journey of self discovery was filled with many emotions, but no matter how “mad” she appeared to be in the past, her core self always remained the same-intelligent, accepting, and filled with so much love to share with those around her. I was thrilled she was getting Titus was quite captivating! He’s loud, brash, and always honest. Getting his back story and learning what made him tick was quite a journey. I also loved the relationships he had with his siblings and how he treated others in his care. He was just a good guy. Now the romance was a pretty sweet treat! I truly didn’t think I would buy into Sharine and Titus as a couple. However, the more layers Sharine revealed and the more Titus accepted and supported...considered me sold:) While the ending didn’t go quite the way I had hoped for, I’m holding hope that might change down the road!

4.4/5

Glad Nalini wrote a slightly "lighter" book after the 2 heavy ones before (prophecy and war). And I REALLY enjoyed getting to know Titus and Sharine. Older romance but didn't feel like it (maybe because I'm also no longer in my youth... :p). I know some people said Sharine was too "Mary Sue" but IMO we read about her being broken in so many past books, so I'm glad we moved on from that. Titus...I adore him. His personality is loud, brash and like a friend who will take no bullcrap, but still with a heart of gold. Wish their "falling in love" process was longer and more developed. Could have helped with 1-2 more chapters. Way too rushed for two people with so much experience (and probably wariness and mistrust) to fall in love so fast. Now I really, really, really want a short story about Elijah and Hannah. And of course, more about what is going on with Suyin (mini-cliffhanger!), Bluebell, Aodham, and others. More please!

AMAZING!

Oh my goodness, the pairing I never knew I wanted! I have to say, Titus is hilarious. It was a ride being in his head, honestly, I love him so much. He made me burst out laughing multiple times throughout the story. And Sharine, Lady Hummingbird... Damn, I also want her to adopt me. ADOPT ME, LADY SHARINE, I BEG YOU. LOVE ME, PLEASE. I adore her a lot, I love that she went head to head with Titus and confused the hell out of him. I got very emotional during her scenes with Illium; her love for her son is so immense and obvious, I'm glad that she found herself again. I also need to say, reading the sexy scenes is a teensy bit uncomfy because these two are like the parental units in my head, but I survived it anyhoo. After this book, I am open to Nalini Singh writing a book for every Cadre member, yes (but of course, we'll need Illium x Aodhan x Suyin book first, thanks). Now what do I do?

A message of hope.

Titus is a super confident male (and deservedly so). The women all love him, and he loves them back. Sharine was struck with multiple major emotional blows when young, then a huge betrayal by the father of her beloved, but now grown, son Illium. A betrayal that broke her. A betrayal by another powerful male, who happens to be... a jackass. Then Sharine “woke up”. I enjoyed watching Sharine become a strong, intelligent, talented woman, the woman she was meant to be, that she would have been without those long ago strikes against her and her development as a person. I cheered her successes and unwillingness to be labeled as frail and weak and placed in a guilded room, beloved by all. Oh no. Sharine chose to LIVE! I can’t wait to see where life takes her. Oh. Yes— there’s a great romance with Titus too. But for me, this book was about hope after depression and despair.

I loved it!!

So far I’m really loving this next book in our Guild Hunter Series! I haven’t finished it yet, but so far so good!! I wanted to know more about how Raphael & Elena were doing upon losing Legion. I truly loved those characters, but Titus has intrigued me for awhile now. The Hummingbird has awoken spectacularly and I find her refreshing & it’s wonderful to see her reconnecting with Illium & Aodhan!! I haven’t gotten to any sexy times yet, but I’m enthralled!! I have no clue what others are calling boring or too long. It’s the time after Lijuan & Chrissaminon, those two working together was fearsome, and the need to relay how things are progressing, healing, loss, and finding love again for Lady Sharine & yo see Titus in a way we have yet to isn’t boring by any stretch of the imagination!!!!

Hmmmmmm, here's what I think

I am not sure what I expected of this book. Somehow in my mind, I expected a bit more....fire. None the less, this was an excellent read and book. One of the things that I appreciated the most was the The Hummingbird came into her own. She found both her voice and her strength even while she found love.

Enjoyable but missing something

I really enjoyed getting to know Titus, a big gruff warrior who it was seems has quite a marshmallow center. Hummingbird has always been quite an enigma and this story I think missed a bit of an opportunity for us to really understand what makes her so unique. Little snippets of her true power/abilities popped up through three story but I was always waiting for more , and it never came. I think the battle fighting the reborn was just dragged out too much , there needed to be another key event to really grip is. I cannot wait for Bluebells story or even Aodhans. Always love the guild hunters books and it’s worth a one click, just not quite to the level of others in the series.

well worth the wait

Titus Archangel of Africa is big, brash, and a family devotee. the youngest of five and the only son, he loves and honors all women from all walks of life. Sharon the Hummingbird is just now recovering from a mental breakdown. She is brave, honest and proud of her son, Blue bell (Illium). when Sharing is asked to go to Africa to help Titus she agrees but is doubtful of what help she can be to an Archangel, while Titus is concerned with how to keep the Hummingbird safe. Little does either know that they will find the information to keep Angels, Vampires, and humans safe and together what they will come to mean to each other. A beautiful inner story from Making Singh. a must read for all Guild Hunter series fans!

Titus, Sharine and a story you won't want to end!

Nalini Singh has done it again. Every time I think she can't make this world any better, so out does herself and writes a story I wish I could live in. I have loved Sharine since we first met her, and wow, she is so much more than I ever expected. Then there is Titus, how can you not love the loud warrior with honor for miles and shoulder wide enough to support the world? These two both have a piece of my heart, and their story is truly a tale of love, honor and internal strength. Who says old dogs can't learn new tricks or in this case cell phones?? Ahh Illium, powerful, playful Illium, and his quest to single handedly drag the angels into the 21st century one stubborn ancient at a time. From the first page I couldn't put it down, I HAD.TO.KNOW.......and man oh man, what a fantastic book. I love, love, loved this Guild Hunter book so much!

Another terrific novel

I adore Ms. Singh’s work and I think I have read every book she has ever written. This series is one of my favorites and while I love all the books in the series, some I reread over again - I think this will be one of those books. Sharine and Titus are delightful characters in their own and together and watching Sharine find herself is wonderful. I also like how Singh doesn’t feel the need for great angst in the plot to create a story. This book was engaging and wonderful without an epic climax of a battle or a horrible villain. Some of her books do have one or both of those things but she doesn’t need them to tell a story, which makes her a great author! As always the wait for the next book will be painful.

Enjoyable read

As usual, I loved the way Ms Singh writes. I didn't even know I wanted to get to know Archangel Titus until I started reading this book in the series. I had been mildly curious about the Hummingbird, so it made for an interesting read. However I must admit some disappointment because I love reading about Archangel Raphael and Elena and they were like footnotes. Also, I had hoped this book was going to be about Aodhan. I hate waiting a year to find out who will be next. I'll be disappointed if Ms Singh spotlights Archangel Alexander next. Also, I'm hoping when Ms Singh finally gets around to spotlighting Bluebell he isn't coupled with Aodhan -- but that's the vibe you kind of get.

Never disappoint

Nalini Singh has been an auto buy for me since slave to sensation and I have never regretted any of my purchase. I love to reread her books over and over. Archangel's Sun is no different. The world building and character development is amazing. I expected the book to be a lot more mature because of the characters age but with the blossoming of a new love even between ancients is something that brings everyone all back to their teen self. I really really wouldn't mind reading a next book about Titus and Sharine still. I feel they still have a lot to tell. I love the teaser side stories too and can't wait to read them in the future.

As amazing as its predecessors

I won't go into a mountain of detail to prevent spoiling a single moment of this amazing book. Suffice it to say that Singh has smashed it out of the park again. The story of Sharine and Titus is just as riveting and more) as all the information we've received to date about the Hummingbird. In fact, the only thing "negative" about the entire GH series is that each book has to end, because there hasn't been a single instance I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. As soon as I finish reading one, I'm already dying to read the next volume. Singh has created an unbelievably enthralling world that captures me all over again with every chapter.

Too short

At 89% I knew that their love story was gonna give me a cliffhanger effect. I was just snuggling into their slow burn chemistry only to realize there wasn't much left. In that I am disappointed. Otherwise, good pairing but I needed more depth to their discovery of each other and how they dealt with Aegon understanding who now has Sharine's heart. I was so waiting for the show down between Titus and Aegon, even though I love that she let him know that there was no place for him anymore. I loved the moments between her and Illium, Aodan and Raphael. Like Tutus, I would be curious about her relationship with them. We got the background of Titus with his family, Alexander and Galen's parents; so what of Sharine and the lives she held together even in her fractured dissociative states. I'm thinking, there is a part two to this couple but the foundation of who they were, became against the reborn should have been more established here so we don't keep hovering back and forth when they come together for the future. Definitely not a standalone but looking forward to more from this couple...there simply has to be more.

Tears of joy and sadness

What can I say about the book and the writer that hasn't been said already! Titus and The Hummingbird have both been intriguing and deep characters in the previous books, and their story is a build of emotional growth and strength. The backdrop of the calamity that arose in their world and their unceasing attempts to right the wrongs done to a terrified populace is full and deep and heartwrenching. As soon as my heart calms and my soul settles, I will re-read as I do all of this author's books and be transported to this amazing and magical place again . Thank you Nalini Singh.

Outstanding! Outstanding! Outstanding!!!!!

This is why I am a huge fan of Mrs. Singh; I could not put this book down. I liked these two characters in previous books; today, I fell in love with them. The story line and depth of characters, visualization were awesome. Even though the story did not include Raphael and my black winged girl, it was so engrossing and satisfying a read. If you have never read Mrs. Nalini Singh books please do so; start at the beginning of the series and work your way up to this book, you will never regret doing so. I am now looking to pre-order book 14. This reader is breathless with anticipation. Fan for life.

Nalini doesn't disappoint!

Once again, Nalini has written a WONDERFUL book. I LOVE the Archangel series; have read them all at least twice and some even more (the first one, Archangel's Consort, and Naasir to name a few). I always re-read the last book in the series before reading the new one to re-aquaint myself with where we were. Every book in the series is amazing as is of course, every male. :-D This book continues the tradition. Titus' and Sharine's story is another one for the ages. My favorite heroes in the series: Raphael of course (hoo boy, if a man ever existed like him with his looks, strength and personality...), Naasir, Jason; boy it's hard to narrow it down as I love them all. My favorite heroines in the series: Elena (of COURSE), Ashwini and now Sharine, although I have the same problem here as I do w/ the heroes. Raphael and Elena will always top the list though. Read this book! You will love it although I hope you've read the entire series as they are all connected.

Fine but a bit flat

Not as complex or plot heavy as I expect from Ms Singh. Nothing really happens, no drama or conflict between characters. The book has no climax or resolution. I liked it, but have to leave only 3 stars when I compare it to the other entries in the Series.

Titus & Shari are Awesome!

That being said. The book was intense and I gobbled it up like an addict. The the verbal jousting between Titus & Sharine was profoundly well written. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the choice banter. I also fell in love with Titus, the archangel with a heart bigger than Africa. I want more of this couple & their barbed banter. Sharine shines with quick wit & a lethal tongue that brings an archangel to his knees. I am riding a Nalini Singh Guild Hunter high with a big goofy smile on my face.

Loved it

The story of the Hummingbird, I don't know, but I feel like this story, broke me and pieced me back together. I wasn't even 20 chapters in and it had already made me tear up 4xs. Not only did I feel sadness and anger at the pain Charisemmnon caused, but joy at Sharine's strength and her overcoming her loss and heartbreaks and becoming the woman she should've been. But I also fell in love with Titus, a strong character with heart, an archangel who loves his people and has done does everything he can to bring safety and peace to his territories, even those of his enemy. Loved the banter and the story of these two. I feel like this is my 2nd favorite book in the Guild series besides Archangel's Storm.

Worth the wait

Love this whole series. It felt like forever, and it was. It was well worth the wait. Can't wait till the next one!

What a fun ride!

I truly love this author's attention to detail and her glorious ability to grip you into the story. I love finally knowing what happened to the hummingbird and why she was so broken. It was really empowering to read her story and watch her develop into this powerful and beautiful character. I couldn't put the book down, it brought me laughter, sadness, outrage, the warm fuzzies, and many more feelings and emotions. This continues to be one of my favorite series and I will be keeping my eye out for the next installment.

Didn’t bring the feels like usual.

Ok. Nalini Singh can’t write a bad book. I think it’s impossible for her to do it. Her descriptions and world building are beyond reproach. But there was something missing from this book. I didn’t feel pulled into the story like I usually am. You know, when you loose track of time and by the time you finish your emotionally happy, but exhausted. Because you felt like a part of the story. It didn’t happen this time. Maybe because I couldn’t really relate to the fact that her parents dying and her lover a millennia ago sent her spiraling into her own mind for Centuaries. I thought whatever Illiums father did was horrific, mindblowingly bad in order for her to retreat so much. But he just went to sleep? Something most ancients apparently do?? I don’t know, just didn’t do it for me. And where did her power come from? What can it really do? She just “forgot” she has it? And for the love of god, please we get it, she was the hummingbird, she was fragile, she was unobtainable. It didn’t have to be thrown in our faces every darn chapter! The plot was what kept me going. Nalini used this I believe as more of a filler book, to tie up some loose ends and move the story along. It would have been fantastic with a different couple, maybe less powerful or less built up characters. But I feel this couple deserved more fleshing out, more conflict and resolve, less instant love. I have faith the next one will be her usual stellar story. But this one...

Archangels Sun

This one was amazing. I finally know what caused the break in the Hummingbirds mind. I felt for her through the entire book. Many of us know what it's like to be used that way. But I'm so glad she now has Titus in her life, and she's mending bridges with her son, Illium. I listened to the audio as I read, and it was wonderful. If you haven't read this yet; just know that you're in for a lovely read. Thank you Nalini Singh for sharing your amazing mind.

Love this world!

The story of the awakened Hummingbird is fabulous! Happy to see all the players dealing with the aftermath of such evil in the war against the reborn and the infection. After so much devastation rebuilding physically mentally and emotionally through Titus and Sharine’s eyes has been a delight. Glad to see the bigger picture with Raphael Elena Caliane Alexander Neha Suyin and the rest of the Cadre. Read this in a day. Always one of my favorites!

Again wow, always wow

This is a shockingly wild way to celebrate the end of a terrible war among angels, while waiting for all the evil that was Death & Disease to be known and soundly defeated. The Hummingbird is awakening just as the world is to a new understanding of why Bluebell is such a power, and we finally get to know more of the secrets of the Seven. Once again, another powerful story. This series is truly engaging and tugs at your hearts. Thank you

Fresh and Lovable

I have to admit to being a little taken aback with the news that the next installment in the Guild Hunter Series was to be about Titus and Sharine. Nonetheless I went in with an open mind because this is Nalini Singh. To my hearts pleasure, Titus and Sharine have found a new place in my heart along with Raphael and his seven. The hummingbird’s strength and being able to back who she once was, was a beacon of hope in the series itself.

Don’t put the at the bottom of your “to read” list like I did or you are missing out!

Another great addition to the fabulous guild hunter series. I absolutely loved Titus and the hummingbird’s story. I picked up this series only because I adore the Psy/changeling series and devoured it quickly and completely, scouring the internet for novellas and every tidbit out there and it is now one of my top favorite of all time. Don’t put the at the bottom of your “to read” list like I did or you are missing out!

HIGH FLYING HUMINGBIRD &TITUS CAN'T BE BEATEN!!!!!!

Nalani Singh has outdone herself dealing with the aftermath of the War. In this 5 STAR book Hummingbird has awakened!! She goes further into Africa to help Titus Archangel of Africa clean up the mess there!! This is an absolutely FANTASTIC book it draws you in while it takes you on this sweeping journey of a women who has come back to herself and finds a new life!!!! Y'all will love it! Grab it quick!!

LOVED IT

I have been reading the Guild Hunter Series since Angels Kiss came out. I absolutely love Nalini's writing, and the journey we've been on with the characters. This particular book was something different in terms of characters. I've always loved the Hummingbird, and wanted to know more about her. This book delivered! Titus is extremely refreshing for an archangel, and I cannot wait for the next book!

Confusing

Her books usually have more action. I thought Sharine’s backstory was thin and didn’t give any markers by which we can tell her age or Titus’s. I got confused about it and how the events matched up to Raphael’s and Illium’s timelines.

A lovely story

Very much enjoyed this read but it was over too soon. I can’t say I agree with some of the other reviews that the story was flat but we all have our own thoughts yes? I would have liked more detail regarding Sharine’s development of her power. And her glowing, though that may be a set up for the future. Basically i just say again that it was over too soon which for me is the sign of a good read

Excellent

Titus and the Hummingbird.....what a pair! Two characters complete opposites yet perfect for each other. The story line is strong and though there are very dark parts, they are necessary to keep the action going. There are also many lighter moments which balance the whole nicely. I have enjoyed this series since reading the first book years ago but I believe this one may be my favorite.

Absolutely loved the characters dynamic interaction!

Oh how I loved and lived through this. I laughed and snickered at the snarky dialogue between them. Tears at moments of utter sadness as the devastating results are felt by all. The healing of mind, spirit and body as they grew to realize that together they could survive anything. Absolutely loved the whole story wishing it was longer!!! I think this might be my favorite!

Pure joy and a happy continuing story!

This story pulls you in from the start! I finish one story and find myself anxious for the next! There are so many favorite characters that I want to see find their true happiness too! I think a background on the Hummingbird makes you more emotionally vested, but it's a great story of love and awakening on it's own! This world of angels, vampires, and guild hunters is a fan of fictional romance and adventure stories perfect series!

Timely and wonderful as ever

I can't help but wonder when exactly she wrote this. On the one hand, certain plot lines were if course put in place long ago. And I know that the life cycle of a book from idea to paper, paper to editors, copy edits & approvals, graphic artists & marketing, publisher to printer to stores can be months or years. But boy is it a timely book with a world pandemic.

Lovely

The Hummingbird and Titus make a fantastic couple. They sparkle. The written continues to be gripping and the world complex. I missed Raphael and Elena but that doesn’t mean I didn’t love this.

Another amazing contribution to a fantastic series!

I'm a huge fan of Nalini Singh and have read all of The Guild Hunter series. The world but the author creates it's so vibrant. The ever-evolving plotlines are intricate and dynamic. But, it's really the depth that she brings to all of the characters that make her books some of my favorite reads of all time. Archangel's Sun is no exception. I love Sharine and Titus' story. If you are new to the series, I recommend starting from the beginning. But, if you are interested in an amazing romantic story, Archangel's Sun can be a lovely standalone read. Enjoy!

Beautiful

I can’t do justice to how beautiful Nalini writes so let me just say that if you’re a fan of the series you definitely can’t miss out on this one! I looove Titus, love revisiting the old characters, and cannot wait for the potential stories of the new ones we just met. As always, the romance is beautiful and I’m hoping to get more of Lady Shari and Titus’ relationship in the next books to come!

Just the beginning?

This is a full length novel with NO cliffhanger. I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Another great novel! My only complaint is that I want more! I felt there was so much more to Titus and the Hummingbird than what was explored in this book. I really hope Nalini releases a sequel to this, so that we may explore the characters further!

Lilykitty

Wow! Wow! Wow!!! I cannot believe what a wonderful book this is. MS. Singh definitely knows how to draw out the physical love between her main characters. The anticipation of Titus and Sharing finally taking that ultimate step was worth the wait. I love the Guild Hunter Series more than any other. Thank you and I await the next adventure.

Cliffhanger indeed

One thing all of the books in this series share is an over abundance of graphic sex. I skip those pages. I continue he reading because the world Ms Singh has created is fascinating and continually astonishing. New aspects pop up with totally believable previously unknown origins. It's great fun to read through each volume knowing it will make you sad and then happy and then everything good in between. Good times, these reads.

Archangel' s Sun

This book was so long in coming, I had to 're-read the series to reacquaint myself with the complexities of her archangelic world. Not an onerous task for me, I assure you. I pray that this is not the end of this delightful series. The story of the Hummingbird's reawakening and her capture of Titus' s gruff heart was a joy to read.

Wow!!!

I think of the entire series this is by far, beside Elena and Ralpheal my favorite story ! To see the Hummingbird come into her own and find the love she so richly deserve. I can't wait for your next book in the series. I don't like spoilers and I think that's why I don't do reviews more often, but needed to say this is one book,I recommend. Hated for the ending!!!!!

Loved the characters!

I was so glad to read about The Humming Bird! Her character has always fascinated me and I wanted to know why she was broken. Now I know and I love her even more. The story line is a continuation of the war and it's aftermath. It talks about all the tragedy but also about rebuilding. Very appropriate for today's world.

Another hit in the Archangel series

Worth the wait for this book. Singh creates marvelous living characters inn a carefully built, rich world. Courage, love and healing seem to be the theme. I'd be surprised if the Hummingbird doesn't ascend to ascend. She shows the strength for it. An Archangel of Compassion, even if only fictional is a comforting thought in these times.

Fractured heart becomes the sun

This was truly one of the most beguiling stories of the Guild hunters. The depth of which we share the inner fears, thoughts, love in the characters is so full as to encompass my soul. The adventure, harrowing battles, humor heavy so that I can imagine the smiling rogue of Titus. I didn't want this one to end.

Loved it. Excellent Read

I wasn't sure about this couple but I was so very wrong. Titus and the Hummingbird exudes chemistry in this book. The storyline and secondary characters keep you wanting to turn the page for more. Thank you Ms. Singh for gifting us with great material. I look forward to all of your books and can't wait for Bluebell's book or Aoidan' book or more Archangel NY and Elena.

Fantastic as always

This book was full of horror, as Lijuan and Charisemmon left this world with so many reborn that were spreading everywhere. But the romance between Sharine and Titus was wonderful. I look forward to the next book that hopefully will have more beauty, less horror. But as always, Nalini's writing is great !

Keeps getting better

Loved this story. Nalini showed the continued struggle of dealing with Lijuan and Charisemeon"s reborn. She made Titus and Sharine discover each other's strengths and find love during a struggle to rid Titus land of the reborn and a disease.created by Charisemeon. Loved the writing and the storytelling.

The Hummingbird

I had no idea the joy I would fine watching Sharine move beyond the enigma that is the Hummingbird into herself. Titus needed a story, he was alone and that just wouldn’t do. This is a story of redemption and growth as well as the power of love to blindside us when we definitely aren’t looking for it.

What can I say but...

Oh my freaking God!!!!! This book has got everything that I could have wanted if I had known to ask. I'm so in love with Titus right now m just have to press a hand to my heart and Singh! And The Hummingbird, excuse me, Sharine is absolutely fabulous! They are officially my new favorite couple!!!

Different but great

Nalini Singh is my absolute favorite author. I initially was disappointed thinking I wouldn’t get my Raphael fix for the year but this book more than exceeded my expectations. So many times we get authors that follow the same story line over and over because we all loved it in the beginning. It’s so rare that an author can start a new story line and have me so intrigued and so invested in the characters. I loved this book and hope we get to see more of these characters in the future. .

Great continuation..

Nalini is amazing. Such continuity from one book to another. This author continues to expand the story in such a wonderful and engaging way. Don't want to spoil the reading for anyone so for now I will simply say it's more than worth the time to read it!! You won't be sorry you did. Enjoy!!

I just finished this epic story and WOW!!!

From the time I met Titus at Elena's block party I was captivated by by his big personality. The character was so awesome and real. I'm glad that he got his own story. It was packed with love, action and interesting characters. I loved it and will be reading this story again VERY soon!!!😍

Nalini

At this point theres nothing I can say. Nalinin hot me hooked from the go. The Himmingbirds tale has been a thing of mystery for so long that finally knowing what and who happened to her is just a relief. I can now enjoy the Hummingbird as a person. Then theres Titus.... just love it.

One of her best books

I fell in love with the Humminbird! When she appeared in other books, I never saw someone who was strong enough to carry a storyline. I was so wrong!! What a heartbreaking backstory she has. Her growth and belief in herself was handled outstandingly. This is one of the best books Ms Singh has written.

Perfect, like all Nalini Singh books!

I love this author’s detailed writing style, you can almost smell, see & taste where you are in her books! This series is one of my favorites, and while I felt this book was not quite as good a storyline as others, it still transported me! You did Titus & the Hummingbird justice

new story threads upcoming & wrapped up old ones

Ms. Singh wrapped up the zombies thread but open threads up with Aodhan & Illium--Sharine past finally explained-new beginning with Titus found out more about his background- and regret with Tanae with Galan- and new baby-other words - read and enjoy- a lot little details to take in

Excellente!

How incredible that the angel we've met before as fragile is healing and healthy! Sharine is an amazing person. She survived a horrifying amount of depression to come out stronger. And she has someone who is worth her heart. Another excellent addition to the Guild Hunter series.

As usual Nalini Singh delivers!

This book can make you see the pain of loss and feel the devastation of war and evil, it also makes you feel the good side of life and the healing power of love. Ms. Singh always provides entertainment and joy and makes you anxious for her next book. Thank you for your hard work!

Holy crap! What a GREAT read!!

Could not put it down!! Love love the newest addition to the series!!! 😍🥰🤩 As always, I am in awe of the greatest of these books

Love

Sharine is amazing. For her to come back into herself is a sight to see. I loved seeing different facets of Titus. He has me smiling throughout this story. The two of them together are awesome. They temper each other out. Will I re-read? Most def. Do I recommend? Positively

I wish I didn't read so fast

How am I reviewing this already? I bought and read this in 1 day >>>insert sob emoji<<<< So good! Not a filler this time, either:) I didn't expect to love Sharine as much as I do--her sass and kindness are a perfect complement to her archangel ♡

Excellent addition to the Guild Hunter novels

Love the evolution of this series. All the characters become a part of a world you respond to. Of coarse I’m not going to expand upon the many sleepless hours to finish each book. Hope the author continues this series. Don’t see how you could ever tire of reading it.

Wow!

We finally got the back story with Sharine! I’m sure everyone has been curious about the Hummingbird since she was first mentioned. This book was a lot more world building (or should I call it rebuilding) than most of the other ones. It’s less about the romance and more about what’s going on in the world after Lijuan and Charisemnon died. I really enjoyed, although it is also a bit bleak at time. Titus is just as hilarious as you would expect him to be! All the names he calls Charisemnon and Aegaeon are creative and funny. If you’ve made it this far in the series then you obviously have to read this one.

This book was everything!

I think this is now my favourite but I say that after every book but this one was really special Titas was always a favorite but he was outstanding in this book such a man of honor courage and as we find love , and Sharing coming into her power what a great match.

Ive enjoyed this

Usually, i like to stick to the main characters in a series and i do adore Raphael and Elena. But i have enjoyed this story immensely. This interlude came at a perfect time. Post war and what the others are experiencing. Looking forward to the next in the series

Angel madness

When I first bought this series, it took forever to get into it. I've since re-read it and can better follow the story book to book. I'm not one to watch a lot of television. I prefer to read and always have something on my tablet or phone just waiting for me to start.

A way to feel at home

I’ve missed this series and it was such a. Delight to read about the Hummingbird and Archangel Titus! Loved their story as much as I did Elena and Raphael’s. The aftermath or Lijuan and Chasimmon is a story we needed to see. Yum the next novel which I can’t wait to read.. I hope we see another glimpse of Elena and Raphael.

Great read...5 stars

I just finished the book. Again Nalini delivers a 5 star book. Thank you for your writing of such great characters and a story line. Please readers understand that once you start reading this book, it will suck you yo great heights and laughter.

Great Book

This series of books are like a fine wine, you can never get enough. I have read the guild hunter books many times and will do so with the latest one. I absolutely love the two main characters, but how could I not. Nalini Singh you are my inspiration to read.

Another touchdown

A fantastically well written addition to the Archangel saga. This story is a slow burn that makes your heart hurt happy. Rita’s and the Hummingbird story answers the question of Illiam’s mother but then opens the door for His and Adons story.

Another great story from Nalini Singh

Nalini keeps writing great stories. I thought Titus and the Hummingbird was an interesting pairing, but once I started reading it was perfect. Great story, great addition to the series, only just finished this book and can't wait for next.

Might not

"... the need might not be reciprocated." Ha! She very likely doesn't need me, but I can bring a smile to her face, I can support her, and encourage her (this story gives me place to think on My story, which might not have wings, but does put the toilet paper in in the wrong direction).

Great story about a little known character

Great reintroduction of the Hummingbird into the Singh Archangel storyline. Wonderful job with a current storyline while delving and letting the reader into the mind of one of the oldest and prior to this book, most misunderstood angels.

Beautiful Story and perfect addition to the series

I am a huge fan of Nalini Singh. I have read all of her series, multiple times. If forced to choose, the Guild Hunter series is my favorite. When I read these books I can literally see in my minds eye the setting and the characters come to life. When I heard the next book was to be Titus and The Hummingbird, I was intrigued though honestly a little sad that it wasn't Illium or Aodhan. I am not going to spill anything about the book but to say, it was beautiful and funny and perfectly of the Guild Hunter world. I loved it and if you like Nalini's books...you will feel the same. I can't wait for the next one!!!!!

Five out of five

If I could go higher I would. Nalini writes beautifully. The thing I appreciate the most is that even though all of her books in each of series are following the same timeline, they don't get repetitive and boring. I am actually quite sad to finish this book because now I have to wait for the next one. I pre-ordered this book and I NEVER do that so that should tell you how good this book is but also how good of an author Nalini is!!

Sooo good!

This was such a stellar continuation of the series!! I was worried after the last book that the series wouldn’t continue but this book was perfect! I loved the story and the way The Hummingbird found her strength and love with Titus!!!! Can’t wait for the next book!!!

This was everything that I was hoping for and even more!

This was everything I was hoping for and even more. Titus was always one of my favorites and I loved this story. Sharine was like watch a butterfly coming out of its cocoon. She is a force of nature and a perfect match for Titus.

Hummingbird Aglow

Lady Sharine, mother to Ilium & renowned artist, has at last reintegrated. As she learns who she is, so do we. And she fights the greatest danger to angel kind, uncovered at what should have been the end of the war. A must read!

Another Winner in the Series

Been reading and collecting this series from the beginning. The story line continues and is good, as usual. Although not as exciting as all the books before, but its definitely well-worth reading and keeping with the collection.

Glad this series is still going strong

I was nervous after the last book that it might be the end of the series, but I am so glad the author continued writing in this world. I've always wanted to know the Hummingbird's story and I love Titus, so this was a great read. I hope there are many more stories to come, especially Illium's and Aodhan's HEA.

Surprise couple

I was not expecting these two, but they were great together. It was wonderful seeing the hummingbird awake and coherent. She was a power of her own and a match foe such a brash archangel. Nalini does it again with a wonderful book in the guild hunter world.

Excellent

This book was long-awaited and my all of my expectations. Nalini’s writing is spread beautiful, but there was something incredibly sweet about this book. Both characters were just so CUTE, as was their relationship. Loved it.

Really good

Was waiting on this story and is was well worth the wait. Just for the scene between the Hummingbird and her ex is enough to make it a wonderful read. The heat between Titus and the Hummingbird is totally thrilling!!! Loved it!!!

Nalini never disappoints

You’d think after 12 books in the series, the storyline would go stale, or the author would get bored, but Nalini Singh is a fantastic writer with excellent character development and killer plot lines. Highly recommend!

Another masterpiece by Singh

I waited as long as I could to read this book, because I knew I would be waiting impatiently for the next to come out. I read until I was done, unable to put it down. Please tell me the next one will come soon!

Titus and Sharine - Getting to Know You

This was a wonderful opportunity to get to know both Titus and Sharine and what experiences influenced their characters and personalities. It was a great read and the honesty between Titus and Sharine was both poignant and refreshing. I enjoyed it immensely and have reread it five times since I received it. I would recommend it highly.

Archangel's Sun

Once again, a beautifully written story, this time centered around the fragile, beloved angel known as the Hummingbird. Ms. Singh's characters have so much depth and complexity that they are unforgettable.

A favorite

You filled me with such joy in these trying times with Titus/Sharine’s story. An excellent adventure and most welcome. As always, I look forward to more from the Archangel Universe. Truly works of art.

Beautiful Story

Nalini Singh did it again. She can pull you into her stories and the journey to the end is always wonderful. I loved Titus and the Hummingbirds story. This is a must read as is all of her books 📚

A sweet chapter in the Guild Hunter world

After the intensity of the previous novel, this one was a lovely jewel. Though the characters are dealing with the brutal aftermath of the fight with LiJuan, Sharine’s and Titus’ story was a delight.

Great story

I was hoping for a Titus and Humming bird story. Never thought of them being in one book. Won't give anything away but I really enjoyed it. Waiting for Illium's and Aodhan's stories. I know they will connect because they are best friend but hope they each have their own stories!

Titus & Shari

WOW!! What fun reading the next book in the series! Now I can't wait for the next one! A great love story & fun interaction between two strong characters! A must read for all fans of this series

Lovely - I enjoyed it very much.

This is a great addition. Two wonderful characters who deserve love. I'm glad they found each other. I do wish we'd seen more of Ellium but understand why the story didn't allow for it.

Justice was served!

This book was absolutely amazing! Ms. Singh captured this couple so perfectly and has an amazing talent that brings her characters to life. Thank you so much for such a wonderful book!

Simply Stunning

A slow building of a beautiful story with beguiling characters and a sweet lovely light that makes me pine for wings and to dance like angels. My hat off to Ms Singh on a superb story.

Keeps getting better

I absolutely adore this series and this one was a good I couldn't stop reading it. I love both main characters and how the grew within the story. Can't wait to see what comes next!

Loved it

A really great book. It was a little slow in the beginning but then you quickly get caught up in the action and the storyline and have trouble putting it down. I highly recommend it.

I love the Archangel series

I couldn't put this book down. I read it in two days, and now I'm sorry because its done! Singh writes books that I love to read. I look forward to the next one she writes!

The storyline just keeps getting better.

Now mind you that reading about a virus that has decimated humans, vampires, and now Angel-kind in no way is appealing, in the midst of Covid-19; However, the story shares a journey of a womans once fragile self to find her strength. There is growth and rebirth, sadness an hope. It is definitely worth the read, and I am grateful for the brite space it put in my heart.

Excellent as always

I need to reread the series as I’ve forgotten some tithings, but the book can strand alone. Love the complexity of the characters and the society she had invented.

Can't get enough of this series

I love the blend of fantasy, religion, and sci-fi. The expansion of the series to explore characters who were previously secondary works so well, which is not always the case. Keep these coming!

So Perfect

Facebook didn't have as much deep drama, and even....trauma, Estimate the other books in the series. It was Incredibly joyful Even it's all the chaos. I enjoy ed this book so much I've read it 4 times.

Beautiful

Only Nalini Singh can create a beautiful story from 2 side characters. I didn't know I needed Titus' story until I started reading. Great addition to this franchise

Finally a Hummingbird story

Loved this look into the Hummingbird and her family, both by blood and choice. This was a really enjoyable story as well building onto the archangel series.

Powerful Guild Hunter story.

This is Ms. Singh at her best. I enjoyed this story immensely and am already planning to read it a second time. Looking forward to the next one.

Another great read

Horrors abound but strength, compassion and love win out at the end. Always did love a happy ending. But, the story goes on. Can’t wait for the next one.

Amazing like every one of the guild hunter books

I loved this story about Titus and the beloved Hummingbird, mostly because of her metamorphosis. Beautifully written and now two more characters to add to my favorites list!

Archangel's Sun was both Captivating and Riveting

I gave Archangel's Sun a five star rating because I 'd rather read than sleep. That's how captivating it was. I know that Lady Sharine and Archangel Titus' adventures, romance and actions will have me revisiting their story over and over; long after I've finished reading it. This happens a lot when a book I enjoy ends. I am looking forward to the next Guild Hunter Novel, hopefully with the recurring peak into the lives of more former characters.

Brilliant!

Loved this book. I always look forward to reading the books in this series as they come out and I always regret reading them so quickly. Fantastic

Ecciting

Loved this book I devoured it in two day it held my interest completely. It was s joy to read this . I hope anyone else reads it and enjoys as I did.if

Loved it!!!

I absolutely love the guild hunter series! I wait for the next book in the series knowing I'm going to fall in love with this world all over again! Can't wait for the next book!

A sweet love story

This is a fast sweet love story featuring the Hummingbird and Titus. If you enjoy The Guild Hunter series don’t miss this reading this book.

Worth the wait

Amazing! But once again too short. I know if her books contained a 1000 pages it would still be too short. I want to live in this world.

Always a Pleasure

I never can get enough of her stories the detail the picture she paints are so beautiful. I hate when its over. Well only read again.

Sharine & Titus

I have looked forward to this story of the hummingbird & the Archangel Titus. It lived up to my expectations & I highly recommend it.

Wonderful book and story

I love Nalini Singh! A well written book. A beautiful story. You will love it. Once you start it, you won’t be able to put it down.

Nalini Singh delivers

I loved this book because of the awakening of Sharine. Titus is just what she needs. They will discover a new world together.

Wonderful

Nilini Singh’s Guild Hunter series is enthralling and this her latest addition is no exception. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Wow!

Another masterpiece by this great author! Can't say enough good things about n this wonderful book! Can't wait for the next!

Sharing you made Titus want to slap himself

I laughed, got a little weepy and got thru the book in 24 hours. It's a wonderful book, one the writer did a great job on.

Awesome!!!!

Love her books and this one s no different! A terrific read. Read it! Characters are great and I can't waut for the next!

The story continues

This is my favorite author and any thing she writes is gold to me. I wonder where we go from here........ Can hardly wait !

Another entertaining read...can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Nalini delivers again and I enjoyed every page of this story about Titus and the Hummingbird. Can’t wait for the next story.

Love

The story of Titus and sharine is great. Loved it. All I need now is more adventures. More stories. More Nalini Singh.

Mind bending

Absolutely fantastic. I now have to re=read so I can pickup anything I possibly missed in my quest to get to the end.

Archangel's Sun.

Once again I have found myself captivated by the skill Nalini Singh shares as she writes of the characters and places in this World that she has created. The pages breathe, the characters bloom and grow so that by the time you reach the last pages you feel as if you have been on a journey with old friends.

Need the books before this to be readable

Like this universe but just feel like this one didn’t need a whole book. For fans I recommend it but it kind of drags.

Awesome

It was awesome to get to know Sharine and Titus better in their own story! I can’t wait to see what happens next!!

Nalini write faster!

Nalini does not know how to write an uninteresting book. I tried to read it slow to make it last because I know it may be a long time until I get another book of her's, but it is 4:13am and I've finished. Anyone who loves a well written novel will love this book.

Awesome

A mystery was solved and a future outlined. It's one of the best in the series. I adore both hero and heroine in this.

Another great book

Wow!!! I love Titus. And the Hummingbird Sharine is finally getting there. This is such a funny book coz of Titus' first reaction to Sharine. Hahaha. Love it.

Didn't want it to end

This is one of those books that keep you interested. I could not put it down. I actually felt sad when I realized I had under 100 pages left to read before the book ended. Nalini always has the right amount of humor, romance and action in all of her books. This was no different. Its a must read.

Breathtakingly beautiful

What a thrill to get to know the Hummingbird! and her history. Can’t wait to hear what the future hold for her.

Another Great Read

Nalini does it again! Another great addition to the GH series. A story of healing and love. Definitely a Must Read for Fans!!

Brilliant

Ms Singh's ability to take her readers into this extraordinary world and make them feel for the characters is nothing short of brilliance. The Hummingbird deserved her own voice and Ms Singh made it vibrant and strong. I loved Titus' for being bold, brash and human. How he melts into Sharine is inevitable. Loved this story.

Great characters reveal

Sharine and Titus! Wasn’t expecting their chemistry. Nalini continues with another wonderful book in the series.

Excellent!

This story was really good. I literally read the book twice. Titus and the Hummingbird is a very unexpected joy.

There are no words

What can I say that I haven't said in the last books? Other than it hurts to wait for the next one.

Awesome!

Love Sharine's story and her growth. Definitely enjoyed Titus and the fight for Africa and the world. It was a slow enjoyable read

Suspenseful

As always Nalini has written another spell bounding book. A book that will keep you wondering as well as keeping you smiling.

So much fun...

Another fantastic adventure with the Archangels! It's 2 am and I want the next book now. Archangel's Sun is another fine read by Nalini Singh!

Arch angels Sun

It seems each book gets better and better .Love her books each one better than the last. Now to wait for the next!

Wonderful

I couldn't put it down. Housework and Christmas decorations had to wait till I finished the book. Can't wait for next one.

Love this series and all of Nalini Singh's work

Love this series. Recommend you start at the beginning.

As always, Nalini Singh leaves me wanting more

At last, the history of the Hummingbird is revealed (although I am certain there is still much to learn) while she helps Titus remove the undead infestation. The world is rebuilding after the war and I can’t wait for the next installment

I loved it

Brilliantly written, fast paced, jam packed with action, couldn't put it down, loved it and am hanging out for the next one :)

Wow!

Excellent story, angelic viewpoint is interesting,

Love it

You can't go wrong with this series...another wonderful story.

Beautiful

It just was so good. I wish it were a longer book. I wanted to read more. It was awesome

Another amazing story in this series

This book kept me involved from start to finish, showing the complexity of two characters who we thought we knew from previous meetings. Wonderfully written my only regret is that it seemed to be over before it really got started.

Sharine

Such a satisfying read. I would love to read some more about her & Titus. Can’t wait for the next one.

Glorious

A book by itself yet in series. When one has a war one must clean up. A sweeping love story about reclaiming oneself.

Love this series

This series is one of my all time favorites.

A dazzling read!

Nalini Singh does not disappoint! A beautiful love story amid the rebuilding of the world, beauty born of horror and death. This was well written and lovely.

So amazing!

I loved this latest book from Nalini Singh. The warmth and humor carry throughout the book even as the characters deal with the devastation in the world around them.

Wonderful wonderful continuation of this fabulous series!

Excellent three dimensional characters that you connect with and ache for. I enjoy how the major story line is continued while she ties up the lives of individual characters. Thank you, Nalini, for beginning my new year with such a treasure! Pam

Gifted Storyteller!

Really I just wanted to thank you! Your characters are so real! Life is not always easy and when I pick up one of your books I can remember that struggling is part of moving forward. May your days be blessed with the joy you bring your readers!

Wonderful

I hope this series continues. I so enjoy the twists and turns. There is always something new in each story. Can't wait for the next book.

Great Series Continues!

I loved this book, this series, this author! I feel like my review is biased, like I have a vested interest in this book. I don't! I just love the series. Author's writing just draws you into the story like that. Just awaiting my wings!

Another great read

I down loaded it yesterday and finished it the today. The story flows. I look forward to many more. Keep up the excellence

Another great chapter in the Guild Hunter series

Very good read. Fun to see Titus & Sharine grow into one another. I look forward to the next installment.
