"Antoni has a love of food equal to my own. From his Johnny's Queso Blanco (you can never go wrong with melted cheese) to his Polish Hangover Soup (I'm sure this will come in very handy) and all of his desserts, I can't wait to explore the mind and creativity of this extremely hot chef."
—Chrissy Teigen
Antoni Porowski, the food and wine guru on Netflix's sensation Queer Eye, meets people where they live—literally. With appealing vulnerability, he shows cooks of all levels how to become more confident and casual in the kitchen. The verve and naturalness of his approach earned raves from Food & Wine and Bon Appétit to GQ and the New York Times, which noted his dishes prove that “sometimes simple is anything but simplistic.”
Some of the recipes in this book are weeknight healthyish meals, while others are perfect for off-the-cuff entertaining. Visual stunners, they’re often composed of fewer than five ingredients. Whether Bastardized Easy Ramen; Malaysian Chili Shrimp; Roasted Carrots with Carrot-Top Pesto; or Salty Lemon Squares, all are visual stunners and can be carried off with panache, even by beginners.

Candid Photos of Antoni with a few Recipes
I want to preface this review by stating that I love Queer Eye and Antoni but this book has me confused. Is it a book of photos of Antoni or is it a cookbook? Where I would have loved to see a photo of the recipe there was a photo of Antoni. There are a lot of recipes in here that I excited to try but I’m a little put off by this book and wouldn’t recommend it to friends.
You should just buy it now. That’s the point of me taking the time to do this review.
It’s beautiful; it’s an accessible cookbook full of dimensional recipes and stunning photography. Antoni’s writing is authentic and sensual, grasping the reader’s attention with it’s sincerity. I love it so much—a few of my friends should be expecting it as a gift. :) I cannot help but share. This man is a gem. A gem of a higher clarity and quality than the damn Heart of the Ocean. Can’t let go of this one, Rose. Antoni should be considered a national treasure. Perhaps guarded in a museum at night. #replacethehopediamondwiththisPorowskiimmediatyamericathanks

Yummy recipes with just a few ingredients. Nothing too complicated. He gives you side tips for each.. Feels like you are on the QE show with him and he is teaching you, only not in a mad rush way, like most chefs but relaxed like "hey take your time" Dining tables aren't required. Just beautiful carrots or purple cabbage minus knife tricks. Some food I have never heard of but he tells you what it is and where to get it..beautiful photos and simple pottery. I think I can do this!
A gorgeous food memoir
As a fan of Antoni to begin with, I loved opening up this book and finding that it was more than recipes, but also a thoughtfully curated and intimate look at his life and his relationship with cooking. I can tell he really put his entire heart into the stories he tells with each recipe, and I know from following him on socials for the last two years that he put a LOT of work into testing and creating these recipes. This book is not only a testament to Antoni's cooking ability, but also to his emotional generosity. It's worth picking up, even if just to read and enjoy the narrative.
Looking forward to trying so many recipes!
This cookbook is so thoughtful and well put together. The dialogue is helpful and makes you understand the reason Antoni has put the recipe in the book. I love the variation in types of cuisines, and full meals to small plates. I read through last night and am looking forward to cooking and trying so many of these recipes. Beautiful pictures of the recipes as well!

This review is not on the content of the book, which is amazing by the way, but that it was not signed as the description stated. So disappointed that I purchased this for my 6 year old who loves cooking and Queer Eye (or as she calls them, “the guys that help/love people”), as the signature would have added to how special the book will be to her.

Awesome cookbook! Organized and put together very well. Love the pictures of Antoni and of the food. Can’t wait to start trying these recipes
Great, but can’t find Autographs
Really fun and cool cook book, can’t wait to try out some of the recipes but I ordered a signed copy and can’t seem to find the autographs?
Yes to all!
I - like another reviewer - opened this book and instantly thought, “This is a picture book of Antoni wandering NYC.” There are A LOT of pics of him in here! However once I moved past that, I realized there are a ton of great recipes (and WAAY more food pics!) that my husband and I can make at home. We have a party coming up and we’re going to make some of the appetizers. Solid cookbook. Can’t wait to make some food!
My new favorite cookbook
Love this cookbook. I believe I counted 104 different recipes, and they’re all perfect for someone who likes to cook with fresh ingredients and doesn’t want to spend a ton of time and effort on a dish, but still get delicious results. Most of his recipes are simple and use minimal ingredients, and he explains techniques and substitutions in side notes. Also, I really enjoy all the pictures in the book! The recipes and format are perfect for people who love aesthetics and tasty food that’s way more effortless than it looks. I was so excited to receive this cookbook, and I’m really looking forward to making most of these recipes!

Antoni in the Kitchen: Review
I preordered my book, and got it this past Monday. I read the forward and intro, and enjoyed reading about Antoni’s story and how he came about his career and passion for food. The book is aesthetically pleasing, especially the photos of food accompanying the recipes. I have already made the recipe “Pasta with sausage, lemon, + parsley”, I told my family I would cook for them if they bought the ingredients for me and would cook when I came home from the gym. This was a big thing. I cook for myself, and typically don’t eat with my family. But the fact that I made this the same day I got the book, and cooked for my family. We were all really excited and there were no left overs. It simply a delicious recipe and very simple to put together. I’m going to be making another recipe tomorrow, the turkey chili one, and I’m really excited to put it together with one of either the watermelon appetizer or raspberry dome dessert.. but I know either way, everything will be absolutely delicious. Attached is a photo of me with the recipe I have already cooked. Thank you Antoni for putting your heart in this book, I can definitely see and taste the love! - Bailey
The content is expected - but is the signature real?
I read a few reviews of the book before I bought it, and they seemed to be quite varied. Some said the recipes were too simple, some said they were too complex. A few even said there were just too many pictures of Antoni. I don't mean to speak for the entire population who bought this book, but did people really want to buy a book related to him WITHOUT there being pictures? :) Honestly, I felt there was a balance between the number of recipes, pictures of Antoni, and pictures of food. I have yet to read all of the recipes in extreme detail, so can't comment on how complex or simple they are but I have found at least a few I want to try, and that is enough for me. I feel the personal information is used well to weave a story around the recipes, making it more than just a cookbook. My biggest concern: is the signature authentic? After buying this book from Amazon, I had the opportunity to attend a small signing at Antoni's New York restaurant, The Village Den. Yes, I spent the time comparing the signature in the book he signed in front of me, to the signature in the Amazon book, and also to a picture on Instagram of a book I know he also signed. All 3 did not match, as one can expect when someone is signing so many books. But there were enough similarities between the Instagram photo and the copy he signed in front of me, and not enough with the Amazon book (which was signed on a completely different page, and therefore was missing something that looked like a "signature" part of his signature in the other two books). It's possible that for the "anonymously" signed books, he deliberately signed the blank page and not the page with his name as author. But I just don't know. Regardless, it's a good book that seems to accomplish what it was trying to be: a cookbook infused with personal aspects of Antoni. But maybe go for the unsigned copy just in case.
So basic that you don’t even need a recipe for these “recipes.”
I was really looking forward to this book. I first debated whether go get it or not, but ot had such wonderful reviews that I decided to risk it. First, the book has 30 pages before you even make it to the first recipe. The book is beautiful, but I was not looking for a table book. The recipes are VERY SIMPLE, simple enough to NOT need a recipe at all. Nothing new or that really calls for attention. If you do not have many cookbooks or none or are simply starting to learn to cook, the book can be useful. If you already know the basic, steer away and don’t waste your money. This one is going back.
Great Addition to Kitchen
I am a kitchen bitch. As my hips can attest to, spending a few hours in the kitchen when I have the right recipe and amount of time is one of my favorite things. So every year, around Christmas, I select one new glossy, hardbound, photo-laden cookbook to add to my collection. This book was this year’s choice, and I do not regret it one bit. I find the book in my hand more than I even originally anticipated, and have been delighted by the recipes. To the amount of negative reviews decrying “recipes are too simple” and “too many photos of the author”— if you’re looking for the culinary rigors of de-boning a chicken and making absolutely everything from scratch, and you haven’t picked up a cookbook from an attractive chef who makes the majority of their fame and income on a screen lately (think Bourdain, Giada, and even that silver fox, Jacques Pepin [who provided a blurb for this book], well— go elsewhere. I’m a stickler for photos-accompanying-recipes, and was only disappointed once. The photos were not a problem for me. And I’m no slouch in the kitchen, and found these recipes to be a good balance of effort-for-outcome and time-for-product. For the young professional with an adventurous palate who is trying to do it all in 24 hours, including cooking for themselves and/or others at home, it hits.
Not signed!!!
Nothing against his book. But I paid extra for signed editions and I bought 2 for gifts. Neither book is signed 😢. I could've gotten a cheaper price for a not signed edition!!!
Antoni, your recipes are *chef’s kiss*
I don’t write a lot of reviews. Mostly I write reviews about magnet strength. But I love, love, love this cookbook. I am a diehard carnivore but this is the first cookbook that makes me want to try all of his wildly inventive veggie based dishes. I’ve scoffed at ground turkey but fell absolutely in love with the cheddar stuffed turkey meatloaf (the only meatloaf I will ever make ever again, and that’s saying something). I laughed at the reviewer who wants more pictures of food because Antoni is a total SNACK. This is honestly different than my other (100+) cookbooks and that’s why I adore it.
Probably better for someone new in the kitchen
I really, really wanted to like this cookbook as I adore Antoni, but the recipes are so basic. Made the first one last night and just hated the entire flavor profile. It was just ... weird. I'm going to give it to my daughter, a college student, as I think it's better suited to a more beginner cook. It's really more of a lifestyle book - indeed, tons of pics of Antoni - and I really liked reading his story of growing up in Montreal, returning, etc. But I agree with another reviewer, in that the recipes seemed a little inauthentic. With the exception of the hangover soup and a riff on some toast (also another hangover-inspired recipe), I just didn't feel a lot of, I dunno, soul and connection to them.
Antoni’s Photo Beef (pun)
Ummmmm, regarding folks not liking the amount of pictures of Antoni vs. recipes—isn’t a primary reason we love him because he is a kind, special and aesthetically-pleasing hunk? His image alongside food images makes me want the food more. Good marketing I say. I quite enjoy seeing him sitting on my counter as I prep my poutine.
Candid Photos of Antoni with a few Recipes
I want to preface this review by stating that my wife made me watch multiple seasons of Queer Eye but this book has me confused. Is it a book of photos of Antoni or is it a cookbook? Where I would have loved to see a photo of the recipe there was a photo of Antoni. There are a lot of recipes in here that I am excited to try but I’m a little surprised by this book as it seems to have both eye candy and food porn. Cutting edge you might say. I bought it for my wife from the treasure truck. I walked 15 minutes both ways in a scorching 85 degree humid day. Only to get excited for recipes like “easy bastardized Ramen” (picture of food) and “duck fat roasted potato salad” (picture of Antoni only). My wife loves it though so I am happy.
Almost an autobiography with recipes
This book is more of a look into Antoni’s life, plus recipes he’s made or picked up over the years. If you read it though, you’ll see snippets of his life. It’s kinda nice to have him give input on almost every recipe; it includes how he came across the recipe, or little changes that can crossover meats and other little things. I will add, I do enjoy how he embraces his Polish roots though-out the book. A downside I came across is: there are a lot of pictures, but not enough of the food. There are some recipes where I’d like to see the end result, and they’re not there. This prompted me to take a star away.

Every recipe I've tried is great
Except I had to make one adjustment--on the cauliflower steaks recipe, the Sriracha sauce overwhelmed everything else. After a few more batches where I tested ratios, I found that putting in 1/4 of what's called for in the recipe allowed the other flavors to be balanced but not drowned in spice. The jicama recipe was super easy when I purchased pre-sliced jicama.
Amazing and very interesting. Excellent book
I am one of many grandmas that love Antoni. I’ve started at the beginning reading every word. I made my first appetizer tonight and it was amazing. I used all of the suggested items. The dates, almonds and blue cheese wrapped in prosciutto - amazing
I wasn’t sure if I would like this cookbook, but I did!
I am likely NOT the target audience for this cookbook. I have never seen Queer Eye and probably never will. I am steadfastly midwestern with more of a “farm-fresh” or “one-pot” palate. Still, there were a lot of things in this book that I loved! I might be unlikely to make beautifully arranged appetizers, but I am totally down for one of his hearty soups. The author’s love of his craft is apparent and I expect that this cookbook will have a wide fan base.
Too many photos!
While I've not counted, I do believe there are more photographs of Antoni in the book than there are recipes. Only buy this book if you want a photo album of Mrs. Porowski's son. I'm terribly disappointed.
Simple ingredients
So many great recipes! I was worried about another review of lack of food pictures. It is definitely not the case. There is not a picture of every single recipe but most of them have one. The recipes are simple ingredients that are commonly found at the grocery store.
Just buy it!
So many good recipes in this cookbook. I have been using the book every week since I got it and every recipe has been delicious and simple. Great recipes for making on busy week nights! So far I have made the parsnip puree (HIGHLY recommend), goat cheese mac and cheese, and the tarte with creme fraiche and onions. All of them were "keepers" and will be in regular rotation. My only complaint is that the table of contents at the front doesn't include what recipes are on what pages which is a little bit inconvenient!
nothing is what it is seems
book is well done technically, BUT it has no substance, recipes are nothing to try at home. There is no Antoni in the kitchen-there is Antoni the model alone at every take and what he is offering is nothing new or worth cooking.
I LOVE Antoni!!!
I really love Antoni so purchasing this was a must! I am very excited to try these recipes. I am a little intimidated though because they are a little sophisticated, lots of flavor combinations I’ve neve tried but I am excited to give it a go. I really hope and think this will enhance my culinary experience. Not just your ordinary cook book. Very impressed!! Way more recipes than I thought there would be.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
This books is fantastic! It starts out with a little of Antoni's history with cooking. Great pictures of the food and wonderful recipes that I have already started to use. I really like that is has recipes for different occasions and there are helpful tips on the side about shortening a set or where to find certain products, etc. Love Antoni and not I love his book!
So many easy and delish receipes and Antoni's pictures and stories are a bonus.
I love Queer Eye, and when I saw this I thought why not try it. I purchased one for a friend who loves cook books, but didn't know about QE, she loves the book and is now addicted to the show. The receipes are great, most of them only use a few ingredients and are easy to make, The Pasta with Sausage Lemon and Parsley has become one of my new fovorites. The Cheesy Lemon-Rosemary Artichoke dip was a huge hit with my family and friends I was glad I make a double batch. If you like to try different combination of foods, give Antoni's cookbook a try!

Great cookbook. Realistic recipes for the everyday person!
LOVE!!! This cookbook is so great! I love the pictures, the stories , the names of each section, and the recipes are so fun! AND ACTUALLY REALISTIC FOR AN EVERYDAY PERSON TO MAKE, EAT, & ENJOY! Id buy this cookbook 1,000 times over! Highly recommended!! Get your hands on this book ASAP!
Not What I Thought it Would Be
The book is very beautiful but I thought that the recipes in this book would be like what is on Queer Eye - quick recipes that are easy to make that are heathy/with stuff that is normally in your kitchen. Almost every recipe has an ingredient I would never normally have in my house. I really thought this would help me eat healthier and still have good food as a financially struggling student. Disappointed that this cookbook seems to not be for everyone, just the people who have the money to buy the nice ingredients.
So Many Great Recipes!
Love this book! The pictures and backstory in the book are so inspiring and heartwarming. I’ve looked through all the recipes and everything looks so delicious! The design of the book is beautiful and I can’t wait to make everything in this book and share it with my friends and family!
Great Food and Eye Candy Too!
I love this cookbook! The recipes are classy yet easy to put together. To me this cookbook feels warm and inviting as my family, like Antoni's, is Polish. That's one thing I love about this cookbook. It's interesting to know why a recipe came about. I can relate and that in itself if is delicious! I will most definitely share this cookbook with my family and friends. The price is right and the book is big and sturdy to enable easy handling as you recreate these yummies in your kitchen! Buy it! You won't be sorry!
Very unhappy
This is not a signed copy! I ordered a signed copy and didn’t receive one.
Fun and easy recipes
Nothing unique or high foodie here, but these are fun and easy to understand recipes, suitable for every day and special occasions, with sweet stories and photos. Maybe a bit too much of Antoni in tight tee shirts, but still a fun read.
Perfect kitchen companion!
I love queer eye, and antoni is my favorite. There are plenty of vegetarian recipes, and ones that can be swapped to be meatless. Everything in the book is there for a reason. There are sentimental stories, family traditions, and every recipe is totally accessible. Antoni knows how to meet you where you are. Nothing is pretentious or showy. He just clearly loves to share what he knows.
Delicious, healthy, easy
Bought this because I love Antoni's simple, healthy recipes on Queer Eye and wanted to try to cut the cord with Blue Apron and do more of my own shopping & cooking. I've made almost everything in the veg section- the brussel sprouts with bacon, carrots & dates, and cabbage & pears are all delicious flavor & spice combinations that I'm repeating regularly. Antoni is a great influence on healthy home cooking!
Love this book!!
My husband pre-ordered this for me one night while watching Queer Eye. I was so excited!! I made the Raman tonight and it turned out so amazing!! the photos are beautiful and Antoni's memoir is beautiful. Make sure to actually read it if you buy!!
Great gift for my girlfriend
I bought this as a birthday gift for my girlfriend who enjoys cooking and she loved it and was very excited to receive it.

Love Antoni’s Heart
Love the stories and memories in the cookbook, and the photos of course!! I can’t wait to make my first recipe tonight, Roasted Butternut Squash with Ginger + Lime!
Mixed emotions about this one
i bought thisbecause I am a huuuge fan of Antoni and queer eye. I find most of the recipes quite exotic for my taste (with sophisticated or hard to find ingredients). Some recipes are good for exploring in the kitchen once in awhile (dates wrapped in prosciutto are so yummu, who would have known?!) But I didn't find any that will be in part of our staple menu at home.
Nice cookbook. Well put together. I received it the next day. We love Antoni!
I hadn’t used it yet but it’s a beautiful cool book. My son, the cook of the family has tried three recipes and he says they are delicious. Antoni isn’t hard to look at either! LOL
Love Love Love!!!
I love Antoni and I adore Queer Eye. I love when Antoni teaches the individuals on the show how to cook and how you can bring together family with food. I totally understand the other reviews stating this book is filled with pictures of Antoni, but there are also a decent amount of pictures of the finished product. He is really good with step by step instructions and nothing seems overly hard to make. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is learning to cook or to someone who is a pro!
Use pinterest.
As much as I like the author this cook book is not your everyday recipes. There's a lot of high end meats and overall dishes that it would be better to look on pinterest. Unfortunately it's also more of a history cook book. There's more narration than recipes. It might be good for a date night at home or special occasion as there's scallops and ribeyes. Basically not everyday meals.
Delivers on it's promise
I got the kindle edition and it is well organized and full of great, simple, and tasty recipes along with some personal insight that I found interesting.
Excellent cookbook!
This cookbook is amazing! Yes, there are a lot of pictures of Antoni, but it’s partially a book about his story and I loved reading it! About 90% of the recipes have a photo with it, so I’m not sure why there are complaints about that. I’ve tried several recipes from this book and they have all been spectacular. The cauliflower is AMAZING! He has something for everyone in here. I highly recommend it!
Amazing... like Antoni!
Like Antoni, this book is modern and sexy... though most recipes seem simple, their flavor is far from that! Already tried a couple of them (turned out amazing)... excited to see what the rest of the book will yield!
Great Christmas gift to myself
This is my first Antonio cookbook. Pictures are fabulous and I could make every recipe in the book all look yummy. Nicse background information about the chef, definitely would recommend to others, even more so after I start making recipes offered.
New twist on recipes..
The book has wonderful photos of Antoni and personal information.. That's nice but I'm interested more the recipes. The recipes are interesting twist on ordinary food. I like it for when I want to have something different for dinner party or to bring to potluck.

Great recipes and even better presentation
Another gift for a friend who loves to cook. This book is just as great as the tv show! So happy I found this on amazon books, sturdy hardcover and beautifully made/designed pages.
Mostly Thirst Traps
While I love love love Antoni on Queer Eye, I was somewhat disappointed by the cookbook. The recipes don't feel that accessible or easy, which I was kind of expecting based on the Queer Eye content. Instead it felt like just a lot of thirst traps and not enough good content.
Love Antoni’s cookbook
Excellent cookbook. We have made meals everyday from the cookbook for the past 2 1/2 weeks straight. Such great flavor combinations. Mind blowing!!
yumm
Great Recipes! I cant wait to try them. I love his story and how it incorporates with the recipes.
Love It
Great recipes with polish recipes mixed in which I LOVE! Also, it was a nice touch to add his personal story at the beginning. Great cookbook!
Good!
I love this cook. Easy to follow and every recipe looks yummy!!👍🏾👍🏾
Fun recipes with their own twist
I love this cook book! The recipes are diverse and easy to follow. Someone who has not cooked a lot, would be fine using this book. I think it makes a great gift to someone else or yourself! It has unique recipes that you might not find in traditional cook books.
Amazing cook book!
Every cook needs this added to their collection!
Must-have cookbook in any collection.
I love cookbooks. This one has good write-ups about his recipes. Some are fancy yet the ingredients are easily attainable and even a beginner could follow his directions. I’ve made about half the recipes in the book, so far and they are all excellent; my family thinks I’m the best cook in the world now!
Love this cookbook!
I purchased this cookbook after watching the Netflix series with Antoni. I have made a few of the recipes so far and they were pretty easy for someone who isn't a great cook. Lots of great soup ideas as well as appetizers. They are not incredibly hard and the directions are easy to follow. The ingredients are also easy to find in the store : )

don't wast your money
Not that great of recipes. I was hoping it would be better.
Everything I wanted it to be
LOVE! This book is full of unique recipes and twist on the classics. It’s also the perfect combination of stick to your ribs and light/fresh recipes.
Beautiful but difficult
Recipes are more elusive - ingredients are somewhat hard to access in normal grocery. Not a good cookbook for a casual cook. But lots of great pics of Antoni!
YASS
LOVE this cookbook very easy recipes!
There are many celebrity chefs, and lots of celebrity cookbooks but this is one of the better ones.
This book not only includes lots of tasty recipes, but there are lots of great pictures and anecdotes as a bonus. I was so impressed with this cookbook that I bought another copy of it for a friend of mine. Highly recommended!
in love with it
If hoy love antoni and food this is for you
Good Housewarming Gift
Honestly wasn’t for my palette when I looked through it. But ended up giving to a friend as a house warming gift and she loved it!
Recipes are inspiring but not for a beginner.
Home chef’s beware. This book does not provide estimated cook/prep times nor does it account for salt compared to ingredients each recipe is overly seasoned. Why add bacon and salt to turkey chili.
Great book for cooking and inspiration
Wife bought this an we use it often when cooking. I have used it to make a few meals and they turned out really good.
Fantastic Cook Book full of pictures of Antoni
Absolutely fabulous cookbook with plenty of pictures of gorgeous Antoni. What more do you need?

Not signed.

If you love Antoni, definitely worth buying
The book is almost equal parts pictures of Antoni as recipes. It is a nice quality book but if your goal is to get lots of good recipes, I might recommend looking elsewhere.
LOVE!
Everything I've made has been gold! They're fairly easy to make and great for someone who loves to cook.
Yes
Big fan of queer eye and had to show my support. Plus I love his cooking ideas and tries a few which others enjoyed
NOT SIGNED!!
NOT SIGNED!! I wish I had read the other reviews and seen that they are saying the same thing.
Just as expected - perfection.
Bought this for a friend for Christmas. Came on time and is such good quality! I love Antoni and all things queer eye so this was fun to look at before wrapping it up. Antoni and all the queer eye gentlemen are so inspiring and I would buy 50 of their books if I could.
Wonderful cookbook
Antoni uses mostly practical ingredients to make very fancy dishes. I am looking forward to making a lot of recipes.
Polish? Sounds Delish!
Finally! At long last! I can't wait to see what's in store. Unfortunately one of the books is very badly damaged at the corner, which I noticed upon opening the package.
Love this cookbook!
I love that almost all the recipes have a photo. I haven't tried anything yet I didn't like. I especially love the Moroccan lamb Bolognese pasta sauce. Amazing!
Great gift, nice hardcover
Beautiful book makes a great gift for Queer Eye fans. Love the glossy cover and fun colors, some good recipes too. Would buy again!
This isn't a signed edition.
I ordered from this seller without having read the reviews. Turns out everyone is right and this seller is falsely advertising. It's a great book but I paid extra to have it signed and was greatly disappointed.

Recipes Look Delish!
Things I love: (1) To start off, I am SO EXCITED to try a great many of these recipes, such as The Polish Hangover Soup, the Turkey Kefte with Hummus, and the Polish Caramel Easter Squares. There are so many recipes in this book that are new to me and I can see are clearly flavorful meals that I can add to my rotation. (2) I loved seeing so many different types of cuisine in this edition, from Indian to Greek to Polish to American, it was great to see so many different flavors meeting to compile some of the best of the best recipes from each. (3) The variety of flavor profiles allows for a wide variety of proteins! There's sausage, chorizo, fish, turkey, chicken, then veggie-centric recipes with chick peans, beans, etc. My critiques: (1) The images included in the cookbook - when I am looking for an image, I'm looking for an image of a corresponding recipe. This cookbook includes a lot of 'lifestyle' images of Antoni shopping for ingredients, walking around town with his fanny pack, etc. (2) Some of these recipes may be intended more for a fancier audience - while I can definitely stand to upgrade my palate, I don't see a time or gathering where I'll pull out the recipe for Olive Oil and Pepper-Marinated Watermelon Bites with Halloumi or Herbed Lobster and Saffron Dip, but that's where the Johnny's Queso Blanco and Cheesy Lemon-Rosemary Artichoke Dip come in! There's definitely something for everyone, but it almost seems like this cookbook can't decide what audience or demographic it's trying to appeal to. I'll update after I've tried a few recipes!
The whole family enjoys his meals
Love this cook book! Antoni really knows how to write recipe instructions.
Antoni’s cookbook was exactly what I expected! Great
Love his style and recipes. Great book!
Cute man bad cookbook
Wanted to really like this but I don’t
Loved it
My favourite thing about his book is how Antoni tells us the personal connection he has with each dish. Some recipes reminded me of my dad since he also loves to put honey in his meats :) My favourite section certainly was the desserts! I'm sure I'll be preparing most of them very soon.
Great gift for significant other
My boyfriend loved this book.
Delicious!!
Love all the recipes!
Love this cookbook!

Great Style

I love antoni
I returned it and here's why
I don't think this a bad book per se. It's absolutely beautiful. There was clearly a very talented design team behind it and a lot of money put into it. It has been promoted all over the place and has a lot of big names in its back cover blurbs--but I don't think all the hype is really worth it. (I should say, I haven't cooked from this book, and usually I don't write a review unless I have, but this wasn't even worth cooking from, in my opinion.) Here's why I returned it: One reviewer mentioned it seems really confused, and I completely agree. I tend to like books that are just a bunch of recipes a person likes, but this book gave me whiplash. Some stuff was really expensive (saffron and lobster dip), some stuff was really unoriginal (if one more author puts dates and blue cheese or warm olives in a book again I will scream, and then also, there was a very, very basic quest recipe?), and then some stuff needed special ingredients that just weren't necessary. For example, some of the reasons I was most excited to buy this book were the plays on Canadian and Polish food. In particular, I was excited for the poutine. But the main twists were making it with tater tots and adding green peppercorns to consomme. Not only is this kind of a boring play on poutine, but it uses a hard to find ingredient unnecessarily in my opinion. Then, there was the recipe for chlodnik, or cold beet soup. Antoni calls for borscht concentrate as an ingredient which...isn't that kind of the whole soup? And again, I will never find that where I live. It's much easier to blend beets or whatever I'd have to do. Maybe in Brooklyn, but not in my neck of the woods or any other necks of the woods I've lived. I was also very excited for the chapter weeknight healthyish, but these were again a lot of basic, generic suppers mixed with unnecessarily expensive stuff. There were skillet fajitas and turkey chili, which are good, but really nothing you wouldn't find in any other book and no twists to make them special. And they were next to macadamia-crusted lamb chops. So who is this book for? It's like every direction was a misfire--the simple stuff was too simple and the expensive, fancy stuff was too unapproachable (for me). Honestly, to me the book just felt really inauthentic and not very practical. I don't believe Antoni cooks or has cooked most of the food in this book or has any really interest in these recipes. I didn't really sense a passion for food--whether Canadian, Polish, or anything else. This wouldn't matter at all to me if any recipe in this book excited me or it had fun recipes (I love a good ghost-written cookbook), but I only flagged one thing, the Chile and Maple Roasted Chicken and I won't own a whole book for one recipe. Also, as other people have mentioned, there are A LOT of pictures of Antoni. Again, I don't care about that if the food is good (I love Chrissy Tieghen's books and she does this too), but this just felt more like a vehicle for Antoni's brand more than a good cookbook. If you love him, maybe the book will be worth it to you, if you don't and you have a solid cookbook collection already, my honest opinion is to skip it. You might also like the book if you have a budget for fancy stuff, are not a super experienced cook, have access to a lot of good stores, and like to put together nice appetizers for parties (no shade, that sounds like a very lovely life). If that's you, you'll get some basic recipes, fancy recipes, and pictures of a good-looking dude all rolled into one. I paid under $10 for this book and I still returned it. I'd rather save my money, and I think that says a lot about this book for me. (I also think cookbooks are really subjective, so the reasons it's not for me could make it completely right for you!)
If I was able to do this, Antoni can show you how to cook (or survive in your kitchen) too
Okay, so I admit that I am not a chef and I need advice in order to boil an egg. Every time I see an avocado, I remember the look on Antoni's face when he see's anyone cutting one up - he is in love. I believe in 10 ingredients or less, that way I can get out of the check-out counter at the grocery store faster. This cookbook delivers fun and fast recipes that looks like you spent a lot more time in the kitchen that you actual did. I was inspired by Cory and Dega Don't as I love NASCAR but look more like Superman. Just buy good cheese, avocado and have some type of knife and Antoni will teach you all the basics in this book. I do wish there was a recipe for PP&J - I need his next edition - hurry up Antoni with your next cookbook - everything is bigger in Texas and so is my appetite for your fun with food.

Beautiful, easy, fun, upscale food
Antoni’s book is filled with beautiful, easy, fun, upscale food. He favors great ingredients and a lot of freshness. If you’re a fan, you’ll love the book. Most of it’s at the really healthy end of the spectrum. There are desserts at the end, and I’m trying to skip those, but there’s a salty lemon square calling my name… He has a lot of personal photos in the front, so you’ll enjoy those if you like a more personal book, but you can skip right to the recipes if that’s not your jam. My thoughts and pics of the dishes we tried: 1) Grilled Peach and Tomato Salad – p 81. I’m loving this tomato and fruit salad trend. It’s a great balance, and you’ll be delighted if you haven’t tried one before. The saltiness from the marcona almonds and parmigiano-reggiano and fresh flavor punches from the basil balance it beautifully. 2) Medjool Dates with Blue Cheese, Marcona Almonds, and Prosciutto – p 36. These are party perfect. Little flavor bombs that are special and take minutes to pull together. 3) Hi-Lo Poutine – p 67. Okay, we loved this. Frozen tater tots with a veal demi-glace sauce and cheese curds. 4) Dinner. 5) Rosemary Pork Tenderloin with Maple-Bourbon Onion Jam – p 228. This is fabulous. The jam is wonderful and the tenderloins are fragrant and flavorful. So much payoff for so little effort. 6) Warm Herbed Olives with Marcona Almonds – p 38. These were a yummy and attractive spruce up of olives and almonds in about 5 minutes. Nice. 7-9) Aussie Breakfast for Dinner Sammie – p 162. Delicious and oh-so-nutritious quick breakfast. This cracked me up to no end, because my friend just picked up a tube of Cenovis for me in Switzerland and wanted to know how I thought it compared to Vegemite and Marmite. I think taste memory lies, so we did a side-by-side taste test just last week. 10) Five-Onion Soup with Crispy Shallots – p 122. Divine. Seriously oniony and creamy. I will update this as I play in the book more! Some other dishes I have flagged to try: Reema’s Masala Nuts – p 41 * Cheesy Lemon-Rosemary Artichoke Dip – p 53 * Olive Oil and Pepper-Marinated Watermelon Bites with Halloumi – p 60 * Grilled Kale Caesar – p 76 * Roman Frisee and Sugar Snap Pea Salad – p 78 * Southern Italian/Cold NYC Winter Salad – p 82 * Braised Red Cabbage with Pears and Cumin – p 92 * The Polish Hangover Soup (Zurek) – p 124 * Rich Turkey Chili with Dark Beer and Chocolate – p 129 * Beef Bourguignon with Parsnips and Cognac – p 134 * Chicken Milanese with Baby Tomato Salad – p 186 * Turkey Kefte with Hummus and Spicy Crushed Cucumber Salad – p 193 * Pineapple and Shrimp Skewers – p 210 * Chile-Maple Roasted Chicken – p 216 * Turkey Meatloaf with a Block of Sharp Cheddar – p 222 * Pork Chop like at Kiki’s Taverna – p 225 * Salty Lemon Squares – p 238
Exceeds all expectations!!
LOVE this cookbook! Being a vegetarian, it’s rare I can buy a “regular” cookbook and still make enough of the recipes to warrant buying it. THIS LITTLE BEAUTY DELIVERS! With the exception of the obvious meat entrees, most of the recipes in the book are either veg-friendly or easily veg-itized. Antoni’s unique style and love for food makes this cookbook an absolute delight. I can’t recommend it enough!!
We spent a week cooking from this book for our cookbook blog. Read about the dishes we made!
"Celebrity" cookbooks can be a mixed bag. When done well, they can be a welcome gateway to home cooking for some readers. Alternatively, they can sometimes become a poorly conceived vanity project full of uninspired (or just awful) recipes. Happily, this book resides squarely in the former category. We knew of this book upon its release last year. We had plans to feature it. Unfortunately, it became lost in our seemingly endless "for later" list of books. We found a copy during a recent trip to our local used book store and, just like that, Antoni was catapulted to the front of the line. It became apparent very quickly upon browsing the pages that we were going to enjoy this book. While thoughtfully conceived, none of the recipes are too "fussy" or complicated to create. Most could easily be made on a busy weeknight. The dishes consist of a range of styles and tastes - with a definite nod to his Polish heritage. Everything is fairly healthy - giving the reader a glimpse into how Antoni normally eats. This book has a definite narrative and it's one that resonates with us. Here are the dishes we chose: • Cheesy Lemon-Rosemary Artichoke Dip - I swear we could eat an entire gallon of this stuff! This is definitely a special indulgence for us. In an effort to "fool" our mind into thinking this is a healthier dish than it is, we served this with a variety of crudites (a fancy sounding French term for raw vegetables). Traditional flavors of lemon and rosemary merge perfectly with the cheesy decadence of the artichoke dip. This was so good - and worth every calorie! • Alsatian Tart with Melted Leeks, Gruyere and Prosciutto - Classic flavors are represented here. The process of slowly cooking leeks in butter over low heat results in a rich, creamy base for your tart. We chose a slightly different procedure using our ready-made pizza dough (from Paul Kahan's stellar book 'Cooking For Good Times'). Once the crust was par-baked, we simply added the ingredients and placed in a very hot oven (550°F / 288°C) to finish. This method made baking the prosciutto separately unnecessary. The finished tart had nice, crispy edges and a cunchy, almost cracker-like thin crust. This was a fantastic weeknight dinner. • Carrot Ribbon Salad with Ginger, Parsley and Dates - We've used the technique of shaving carrots into thin ribbons for a salad or "pasta" before. The result is gorgeous and vibrant. This recipe adds what appear to be Antoni's favorite ingredients, almonds and dates, into the mix. The choice of rainbow carrots results in an exceptionally beautiful dish. Does it taste as great as it looks? You bet! The simple dressing of olive oil, ginger and lemon juice is prefect. This is the type of food we'll gladly revisit. • Cauliflower Steaks with Turmeric and Crunchy Almonds - We roast a lot of cauliflower in our kitchen. It's a great option in the Winter, as well as when you want an alternative to meat. This preparation is assisted by the gochujang honey dressing - which adds a pleasant sweet and spicy note to the dish. Turmeric is always welcome. In fact, it's one of our favorite and frequently utilized spices. Many of Antoni's recipes call for almonds and/or dates. Fine by us - as they are always residing in our pantry, the perfect snack for grazing. We used smoked almonds for a crunchy element and punch of flavor. This was a delicious companion for the lamb lollies (below). • Polish Hangover Soup (Zurek) - This dish intrigued us and it seemed appropriate to feature. It's one of the few recipes that requires advance planning - as you need to make the zakwas (a fermented sour rye base mixture) a couple of days prior. With a myriad of hearty ingredients (kielbasa, bacon, hard-boiled eggs, root vegetables), this is the definition of cold weather comfort food. A generous addition of horseradish, coarsley chopped dill pickles and the aforementioned zakwas ensure this soup will not be timid in flavor. We invited a few close friends from the neighborhood over - making this soup the centerpiece for a fantastic evening filled with wine, laughter and stimulating conversation. • Souvlaki Arahova - Greece becomes the next destination within this book with this nod to a dish from a favorite childhood restaurant in Montreal. All of the traditional flavors are harmoniously represented - cucumber, dill, lemon, feta. We chose to place the ingredients atop some delicious oblong naan bread we had on hand. This made for a suitably delicious substitute for the pita bread. With all of the components (made from scratch!) piled high, this was a tasty, nourishing one plate meal that required minimal preparation (or clean up!) • Macadamia-Crusted Lamb Lollies - First off, we made an executive decision to replace macadamia nuts with pistachios. Why? Are you aware of the price of macadamia nuts?! It's more than gold! We're not pulling in that 'Queer Eye' money yet so our food budget is a bit more modest. The good news is pistachios were a fantastic substitute - in appearance, taste and texture! In fact, we would argue they provide a better alternative visually than macadamia nuts. Chopped, fresh rosemary is a classic pairing with lamb. For this recipe, it is a component in the spicy honey agrodolce - which is drizzled atop the lamb just before serving. We grilled these to a perfect medium-rare. Needless to say, there were no leftovers. This was a stunning dish that was equal parts delicious and beautiful.
More Photo Album Than Cookbook
Well, that was an odd experience and absolutely nothing like what I anticipated when I saw this book. I'm unfamiliar with Antoni myself, but one of my friends is a big fan of his televised works so I vaguely recognized the name and the cover looked engaging enough to pique my interest. That's about it. I knew it was a cook book by someone a friend likes on TV. I have had many a cookbook, some by famous people, but none were quite like this. It begins with a brief yet slightly dull mini-memoir which explores bits and pieces of Antoni's life. There isn't much to it other than a few mentions of having a split family and wishing he'd had more time with his parents, who worked all the time. He got into the food industry via a family-owned restaurant - or at least ended up working at one at some point; I'll admit I skimmed - and took that opportunity for granted by constantly showing up for work hungover. The amount of privileged elements to his story make it very difficult to relate, and it's uncomfortable when he decides to mention that two women who made sure everyone was well-fed had thick ankles and were overweight as if that ever needed to be mentioned. But it ends with the suggestion that readers analyze the food they grew up with and experiment with their own heritage foods, so at least there's a good message overall to the intro...? That said, the intro is his life story even if it's one of privilege and opportunity, so I can't judge too hard there. I just question the choice to include it in a cookbook along with pictures of him posing in photos which only sometimes have a vague relevance to food. Is this what fans expect? Is this how modern cookbooks are made? I don't know, but it all felt a bit bizarre and confusing to me. The dishes themselves don't seem all that basic or beginner level to me, partly because the ingredients are often things you'd never find in the average town - only cities or areas with high demand for them. For example: a jicama (whatever that is), a block of goat cheese, Baltic rye, Gruyère cheese, and mirin (idk what that is, either) - all of which appear within the first handful of recipes. There are some simpler ones I may actually try, such as those with potatoes or garlic, but overall it seems way out of my budget, availability, and skill. Overall, I'm just confused.
What it sometimes lacks in recipe practicality, it more than makes up for in charm
A lot of the recipes call for ingredients that are either pricey or hard to reach for a little suburbanite like myself (not a fan of online grocery shopping - especially with perishables), so I can't see this being the type of cookbook that will bring together family and friends on a regular basis. That said, so many of these recipes are completely new to me and sound *divine* ("Champagne and Lemon Risotto," "Pomegranate Walnut Chicken Stew," "The Polish Hangover Soup" - YUM), so I can't wait to give them a try on holidays or at the random special get-together! As for presentation, the book is so gorgeous that I almost fear bringing it into the kitchen and risking getting it messy. Antoni fans in hope of eye-candy should be particularly happy. The only thing I found missing was any kind of dietary/nutrition information included (in part, I'd wager, because Antoni leaves wiggle room when it comes to which of his recommended ingredients you use). Last but not least, and one of my favorite parts of the book, are Antoni's introductions to each recipe. They offer cute background stories and other tidbits, each radiating with the same love for food that we see on QE. He also supplies kitchen tips that may be less useful to more practiced cooks (eg - using an ice cube tray to freeze and store liquid ingredients that you only need in small doses), but they're incredibly useful for the less savvy like myself. Overall - very happy I made the buy! I hope he someday follows up with a book of simpler recipes that could make for quick meals and snacks before, say, a QE watch with friends. :)
Returning this one
Mostly fancy foods not eaten by everyday Americans. Very few appetizing recipes that are easy and affordable. Rich people selling cookbooks based off looks does not a great cookbook make. Another "celebrity" cookbook you'd be wise not to buy.
Easy on the eyes and the taste buds!
One review dropped a star for candid photos and a few recipes... But there's over a hundred recipes and only about 10 of them have a candid photo vs food shot, and a few of those are of him buying a main ingredient in the dish, so gimme a break. This book is full of delicious recipes! And of course it's easy on the eyes. But if Alice Waters and Samin Nosrat are fans, I trust their judgment! Throw a towel over.your shoulder and get cooking!
So excited
I received this as a gift today and I can not wait to start cooking from it. Recipes are pretty simple and ingredients are a lot of things that you keep in the house or are relatively easy to find. Also, the overall design of the book on the inside is lovely to look at and easy to read. I loved Antoni in Queer Eye, and it is no surprise his cook book is equally as great.
Too many photos of Antoni, not enough of the food
As usual, I borrowed this cookbook from the library to decide if I wanted to buy it. There were not enough recipes that appealed to me to make it worth the purchase price. In addition, while reading through the book, it became immensely annoying that there were so many photos of Antoni and so few photos of the finished recipes. This guy is more than impressed with his physical appearance. Perhaps the recipes would have been more appealing if it were possible to see what they looked like.
Antoni puts a gourmet twist on many of my favorite dishes!
Received this for Christmas and I've made several of the recipes...Chicken milanese, scallops w carrot butter, souvlaki arahova, Turkey meatloaf and BAKED TURKEY MAC AND CHEESE (SO. SO. GOOD). All were fantastic! The recipes are written well and contain every detail, in order. Some are easy, some not so easy...but all have been very flavorful and Antoni really knows how to season dishes well. Plus the illustrations and backstory about Antoni's cooking experiences are very entertaining! It's a great cookbook to impress people with dishes that they know, but with an extra twist!! My favorite cookbook in many years!
Great Style

Way for fancy for our crew
I love cookbooks but this one seemed to have lots of hard to find ingredients and the recipes were not even close to practical for our family. I don’t live in NYC where there is a polish deli on every corner. I love Antoni but his book was a total miss for me.
Exceeded Already High Expectations! A Cookbook You WILL Use
Taking a few dedicated minutes to read through the introduction and a few recipes in this book will make it abundantly clear why Antoni has risen to his level of success so quickly. This man KNOWS food, he knows flavor, he knows how to write a recipe properly, and most importantly, he knows people. Antoni has an intrinsic understanding for the kind of dishes people will actually take the time to make, while also feeling proud to serve them. He has an uncanny knack for elevating common ingredients in a unique but approachable way. When I flip through cookbooks, which is weekly, I usually flag a small handful that I’m interested in trying. I’m pretty sure I’ve bookmarked half or more of Antoni In The Kitchen! This book will not just collect dust on your shelf after a glossy flip through, I promise you that. This book will become a resource for entertaining, family dinner, meal planning, date night and so much more.
Love this book!
This is my first review and I just wanted to say that I whole-heartedly LOVE this book. This book brought memories of watching my mom cook but her never letting me take part. Even though I didn't cook with her by watching her it all became ingrained in my head. I come from a Latin family where food is what connects us and this book took me back to the food that shaped me. Antoni, thank you for reminding me of why i love cooking so much. It was a pleasure meeting you at Sonoma-Williams in Kansas City. You are such a bright light.
Mouth watering recipe book
Beautifully illustrated, clear instructions and no esoteric ingredients; this is a wonderful cookbook for everyone from beginners to seasoned chefs. A great range of recipes and options; there's something for everyone in this book. I'll be spending most of my time in the Bakes chapter! A great new cookbook, sure to become a family favourite.
LOVE!
I requested Antoni's cookbook for my husband and I for Christmas based on some recipes we have tried. After drooling over his dishes from the show, I knew I wanted it. It hasn't disappointed. Not only are his recipes great, but he has a lot of informational things in there as well like his top 10 culinary mantras. I appreciate all of the history he has given us about himself and lots of additional information he shares. He is such a warm and loving soul and so genuine. I love this cookbook and Antoni (and the Fab 5 too)! Thanks Antoni for hanging in there when times were tough. You have made the world, especially the culinary one, a much better place!
Antoni Picture Book
If you want a book with over 55 pictures of Antoni posing for the camera this is the book for you. I read hundreds of recipe books a year and if the book does not have pictures of the recipes forget it. This book has 31 recipes without pictures. I couldn't get to the recipes because I was so put off by the pictures of Antoni.
Tasty easy recipes!!
I’ve made several recipes from this book (chili, lamb Bolognese, Malaysian chili shrimp, butternut squash soup) and no disappointments! Food tastes great and has me cooking flavorful recipes for dinner all the time. I haven’t made every recipe but love the food so far so I am going to make it my mission to cook every one! Worth the buy for someone getting started in cooking or someone who wants to make some tasty meals to impress friends (once covid is over).
Nothing but love for Antoni 💕
I'm always first drawn to photos of the recipes in a cookbook and Antoni does not disappoint! Great collection of special family dishes and well known classics with a twist. I love how personable Antoni is in the intro and how you can feel that he enjoys cooking and putting together this cookbook. Bravo!
Quite a Few Exciting Recipes!
I enjoy reading cookbooks cover-to-cover and this one did not disappoint. Loved reading Antoni's stories (this Polish girl can relate) and will enjoy bringing his doable simple yet sophisticated recipes to life. First up...Malaysian Chili Shrimp, yum! Also very excited to try the Polish Hunter's Stew!
Array of Recipes for the Novice Cook/Baker
A wonderful array of recipes. Most have easy to find ingredients, and the instructions are perfect for a novice cook/baker. Plus, if you’re a fan of Queen Eye, you’ll get a little insight into Antoni’s past

Everything sounds delicious! Some of the recipes seem so easy, even a beginner cook like me could make them. Antonio makes every recipe feel so easy that I can’t wait to try some!
Everyone is getting a copy for Christmas!
Loooove this book. Such great recipes and fabulous pictures throughout. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves to play in the kitchen and try yummy delicious food
Will be my most used cookbook at home
I'm so excited to cook from this book! The recipes are simple and easy but still so cool, that I'll be so proud to share with my friends at brunch or dinners. Beautiful photos!!!!
Amaze balls
I loved queer eye and the fab 5 and always saw my self writing notes anytime Antoni made fresh pasta or made the green goddess sauce so you can imagine my surprise finding out he had a cookbook!!! I love it. I’m obsessed and I can’t get enough of Antoni. Keep it up!!
Seems to be more photos of him rather than cooking
👎👎👎
Novelty at best
Recipes are just okay and the ingredients are tough to find at a local supermarket. It’s a novelty cookbook at best.
Great cook book. Simple and easy to follow
I love this book, love the way is put together. The recipes are easy to follow and love the combination from simple recipes to a full dish. I think Antoni’s first cook book is a hit.
Reasonably priced and looking forward to trying
Enjoyed receiving a discount code to purchase this cookbook, haven’t tried any recipes yet but definitely some standout recipes that I will be trying soon
Pass on this book
Not a good book for recipes. A little too self-involved.
Fabulous
Excellent
