A new memoir from Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author Cathy Glass, now with an exclusive preview of Cathy’s inspiring new title, Please Don’t Take My Baby, coming out on April 25th.

Eight-year-old Aimee was on the child protection register at birth. Her five older siblings were taken into care many years ago. So no one can understand why she was left at home to suffer for so long. It seems Aimee was forgotten.

The social services are looking for a very experienced foster carer to look after Aimee and, when she reads the referral, Cathy understands why. Despite her reservations, Cathy agrees to Aimee on – there is something about her that reminds Cathy of Jodie (the subject of ‘Damaged’ and the most disturbed child Cathy has cared for), and reading the report instantly tugs at her heart strings.

When she arrives, Aimee is angry. And she has every right to be. She has spent the first eight years of her life living with her drug-dependent mother in a flat that the social worker described as ‘not fit for human habitation’. Aimee is so grateful as she snuggles into her bed at Cathy’s house on the first night that it brings Cathy to tears.

Aimee’s aggressive mother is constantly causing trouble at contact, and makes sweeping allegations against Cathy and her family in front of her daughter as well. It is a trying time for Cathy, and it makes it difficult for Aimee to settle. But as Aimee begins to trust Cathy, she starts to open up. And the more Cathy learns about Aimee’s life before she came into care, the more horrified she becomes.

It’s clear that Aimee should have been rescued much sooner and as her journey seems to be coming to a happy end, Cathy can’t help but reflect on all the other ‘forgotten children’ that are still suffering…

Why Cathy Glass is an important author

The books by Cathy Glass are hard to read. Not because she’s a poor writer, just the opposite. When faced with caring for the myriad of children as a Foster Carer in the U.K., Cathy charges herself with taking on children who are damaged in some way. Whether it’s by the child’s own family (usually the case) or by the system itself, Cathy’s approach is always the same...love. She listens to them, never talks down to them and does her best to make each and every child feel like a part of her family for however long they happen to stay in her care. She’s faced many challenges in her 20+ years as a Foster parent; unruly children who have grown up with no boundaries, vicious parents asa well as the occasional over-worked and inefficient social workers. So yes, they’re hard to read. However child abuse, child neglect and child sexual abuse is still running rampant. I hope her readers will come away knowing that each and every one of us can help in some way, however small that help may be. Thee saying goes “it takes a village”. Perhaps Cathy Glass is the matriarch of our village. I sure hope so!

Another Great Read

Another great read from an excellent author. Cathy Glass is a foster carer who has been doing a wonderful job with children who've been abandoned and abused. While uncovering the abuse Aimee has suffered from both drug-addicted parents and others, Cathy finds a way to reach out to Aimee and help her to trust enough to reveal her abusive past. Cathy must also deal with the rantings of Aimee's angry mother with little help from social services. A great read that brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, Cathy for your help on behalf of abused children everywhere.

Starting with explicit details of a horrendously abused child, ...

Starting with explicit details of a horrendously abused child, this true story travels through the complexities of the social service system. When Katy Beers is abducted, her disappearance becomes national news and sheds light on the fiercely competitive nature of news media and the quest for journalists to capture the story. As police, detectives and FBI strive to find Katy, one learns just how detailed and thorough investigative work is and how compassionate the chief detective is. All the while the story weaves through what is happening to Katy and how astonishingly brave and "street smart" this 10 year old girl has become out of necessity. It is heartwarming to learn how loving foster parents can alter a child's life. This story explores the deep psychological impact on the child, her abductor. and how the support of a community, her school and years of therapy can heal the most damaged psyche. Congratulations Kathryn Beers! I will always remember your life story as told by you and Cathy Glass.

Sad Story

This is another sad story written by Cathy Glass about her years as a carer in England. Aimee at 8years old is found to be severely neglected by her Mother. No one seems to know how this happened as her family has been known for over 20 years to the Welfare System. All 7 of her older siblings have been removed from Mother's care. Yet somehow she remained with her Mother until Cathy became her faster Mother.

The Child Care System

Cathy Glass gives a gripping and in depth look into the world of foster care and child protective service in England. She is able to pull you in emotionally as the foster carer of Aimee. A child who was repeatedly placed on the "at risk" protective list but slipped through the cracks. Some might not appreciate the extreme and sometimes repetitive, detail Cathy goes into when describing what she has to do and how the child protective system works but it helps us to understand the complexity of the child protective system, that is isn't all black and white. It also leaves the reader walking away having learned some good child care techniques to use. I almost felt like I was reading a fictionalized case study as she made references to other children/books she had written and techniques/workshops she had taught or been taught. Aimee is a precocious eight-year old, wise to the way her mother acts and the world around her. She' s never had a bath, never went to school for a full day, used eating utensils, brushed her teeth, dressed herself, the list goes on. Adjusting to this new way of living and seeing her mom three times a week and calling her the other nights takes it's toll of both Cathy and Aimme. Susan, aimme's mom, accuses Cathy of subpar treatment, not allowing Aimme to watch TV or forcing her to eat things she doesn't want to, wash her hair, brush her teeth, all of which are lies and taken out of context. It was hard to stop reading this books as I wanted to find out more of what Aimee went through, how her mother would twist a small comment and where, if at all, Aimee would have the same total breakdown as Jodie had. Jodie was the main character in Damaged, a girl badly abused. Both Cathy and the reader draw similarities between the two girls and hesitated when similar situations came up. It is a book with a mixed sad and happy ending. If you ever thought of becoming a foster care parent, books by Cathy Glass, are excellent in-depth looks in.

Heart-wrenching yet Inspiring

This is not a story for the faint of heart. It is the story of a foster parent who takes in a child that most would never touch. Aimee is eight years old and unlike her five older siblings, she was left with her mother instead of being removed. Eight years she suffers abuse at the hands of her mother and many others. No child should have to experience the things Aimee experiences. The book was frustrating at times because at one point in my life I worked for children and family services in my state. The things that you learn about happening to children is horrible. Cathy has done a wonderful job of letting the reader be an observer yet feel like they are right there. I have never been a foster parent. I have seen so much through my job as a teacher. Sometimes the things we learn from our students are just as heart wrenching and makes us wonder how someone could let something happen to a child for so long and do nothing. I have great admiration for people like Cathy. As a matter of fact a friend of mine, an author by the name of Karen Arnpriester is one of those angels who takes in kids. I have the highest respect for people like them. I believe that books like this should be read to bring attention to, and open the eyes of people who might not want to see what is going on around them. I highly recommend this book. I won a copy of this book from LibraryThing. The opinions expressed here are my ow.

Wow ,memories

This hits home ,my parents and sister and husband were foster parents. Wow the things that went on. We are still in contact with 3 beautiful young ladies, have watched them grow . But I know its not always that way. Brought back memories of the kids that came thru their homes and mine. I pray every child has peace and safety and none get forgotten. So many are forgotten or left in bad situations, breaks my heart. Good read but the hard part happens way to often.

Hope for a child in foster care

The story gripped my heart -- this poor little girl had a very rough start in life, due to the inadequacies of the child foster care system. The book happens to be set in England but I have no doubt that the same thing happens in other countries. I think the author had to have glossed over some of the hard parts, because the final resolution shows this child happily a part of a family and seemingly with no issues; based on what the little girl experienced before she went into foster care, I doubt that that's the case -- although I'd love to think it is. Resolution a bit too unrealistic, I think, but a good book nonetheless, and I did read the whole thing, which I DO NOT DO if the book is poorly written.

Compelling and heart softening books

I’ve just discovered the Cathy Glass books & can’t put them down. I deeply admire her foster work & her sensitivity with children, as well as her perceptive understanding of the social welfare system with its shortcomings. She’s also an excellent writer! Reading these compelling books softens my heart & reminds me of what is important in life.

Another Forgotten Child

I love Cathy Glass's stories of the children she has fostered. She is a loving, well-trained and understanding, very motherly person who encourages her frightened and sometimes abusive charges to relax and open themselves to the love and care they so desperately need but lack in their lives so far. Reading about her mostly successful stories makes one thankful for one's own happy childhood, and very thankful for the many caring souls that step up to love and care for those with an unhappy start in life. So many child tragedies, thankfully averted, but yet so many more who sadly 'slip through the cracks'.

Being a caregiver is rewarding at times but it can be rough as well.

This book really opened my eyes to the hardships of being a caregiver. When my children all married and moved on with their lives, I considered becoming a foster parent. We have a courtroom house that sits nearly empty and there are many children who need help but after I read this book I'm sure I could not handle giving them up when the time comes. It would break my heart. It takes a certain type of person to be able to do that.

I really love this book.

Bring a foster aren't is very rewarding. Sure I hurts when you lose one. You have a good feeling knowing you made a difference in their Live. I ofen wonder where mine are. Some rules need to change, this should never to a child.

A Emotional Rollercoaster!!!!

This was my first time to read any books by Cathy Glass but, it won't be my last. I was drawn into this book from page one and couldn't put it down until I finished it. Cathy's knowledge of the foster care system and ability to show such love and kindness to Amiee, are the kind foster care parents we need more of. This takes you on a emotional journey that you won't soon forget, you will laugh, cry and your heart will break, get angry and most upsetting is that there are children living in these conditions everyday all around us. I would recommend this book.

An important read

I think this is one of the most important stories Cathy Glass has written so far (of the ones I have read thus far). Her final paragraph addresses the fact that Amiee's story is, sadly, not as rare as it should be. In fact, it shouldn't happen at all. There are millions of children world-wide who slip through the "social care safety net" and remain with parents unable or unwilling to properly care for them. This can perpetuate the cycle of abuse and neglect or even result in the loss of life. Thank God for people like the author, who are trying to effect changes in the social care system.

An okay book

This book was a fairly interesting read. I think my biggest problem was the dialogue--here we had a small child who came to her from very poor circumstances, supposedly so uneducated she doesn't know how to bathe herself, yet the language she used was quite advanced. This author has several other books published, but reading this book didn't leave me wanting to read any of her other books.

Love Cathy Glass Books

The first book I read by Cathy Glass was "Damaged" and this book had the same effect. I was so moved by the story it really makes me appreciate my life, the life my kids have, and it reinforces my internal need to help others. Reading about people like Cathy and knowing that so many people need help makes all the years invested getting my degree in Psychology worth it. This book and others by Glass help to fuel the fire, so to speak, in my continuance to do what I can to make someone else's life more happy and fulfilling. I gave this book 5 stars because Cathy Glass talks openly about the things others tread lightly about. She includes background information from the child's point of view, and not merely from her own perception.

but I am so glad I did

I had mixed feelings when I started reading this book,I wasnt sure whether I wanted to read it or not,but I am so glad I did..It surely opened my eyes to the sad plight of some of our treasured children. No child should have had to endure what Aimee.did..Also,the foster parent Cathy Glass must have an inner strength to be able to cope with the red tape and sometimes incompetence of the system that surely failed Aimee..And Amiee,God bless her .seemed to overcome the abuse of her childhood I thought the book was well wrote

Rescue of an Abused Child

Book arrived in excellent condition and on time. Story captures the emotions experienced by a foster mother in taking on a child of severe abuse that had taken place over a long period of time. As a former foster parent couple we have had the opportunity to work with the young children of broken homes. Fortunately, out of the more than 50 children we took into our care, a physically abused child had never been brought into our care. Richard and Ginger Smith

It took 8 years of abuse for Social Care to see!!

While not great literature, it is an incredibly poignant account of a foster mother, her family, and one of the neglected, sexually abused children she rescued. The caregiver, Cathy Glass herself, is acutely sensitive to the best interests of the child throughout the process of providing a caring home. She is patient with the ineptitudes of the social care system and basically kind to the birth mother whose own background was filled with abuse. This book breaks my heart - and gives me hope.

That little girl was NOT as bad as I was led to believe

That little girl was NOT as bad as I was led to believe. Most children would be much worse if they had done to them what she did. I have baby sat kids that acted out worse than she did. Took some time to calm them down but experience paid off. The writer may be doing to many pubic things and is wearing herself out. She is a good woman taking kids in. I would like to see other titles that she has written.

Excellent Read

For those who have big hearts, and an understanding for humans that are left in the care of their abusive parents. Abusive parents learn how to role model what they are taught by their parents. Change comes from getting help to set up a different standard of how to be a parent eliminating abuse. This can take years or even a lifetime of changing ones own journey.

Broken Hearts, Pretty Patches

As a Therapist, I always find it disturbing to hear the things children go through. I also find myself thinking, "these are the stories we hear, what about the ones we don't?" Cathy Glass does a remarkable job, as always, of sharing here. The extreme situations that Susan exposed her child to were life altering. Yet, with a lot of patience and love, Cathy was able to turn it around. This is a good read about a painful situation. Very well done.

No spoilers

The book touched in child abuse. I don't want to give any spoilers but the book is just more about the growth process.

Fascinating story

Cathy Glass is a writer that I love. The stories are heartbreaking and shed light on the plight of children from hard places.

Great book

I love all of Cathys books. I am reading all of them and I have read almost all of them. She is such a great writer. They make you laugh and cry. She is so compassionate. I read them pretty fast and I am sad when it's done. I worry when I run out of her books to read.

ANOTHER FORGOTTEN CHILD

This is the 1st book I read by Cathy Glass. This book's story line was heart breaking & heartwarming. I was happy, sad, & proud of Aimee. I applaud Cathy for what she does because it takes patience, strength, strong, loving person to do what she does. This story gives you insight of how different child welfare works. I will definitely read more books by Ms. Glass.

Eye Opening!!!

Cathy Glass is in real life a foster parent. She tells the story of one of her foster children including why they came to be in care, the obstacles that she and her family encounter, in this case not only with the child but also with the child's mother- with what could be potentially damaging results. It is hard to believe that children in the western world can be so neglected and mis-treated. In this case all ends well for both the child and her carers.

Another Tear Jerker

Cathy does it again. Breaks my heart with Aimees tragic story. Aimees story is very similar to that of Jodies however Aimee faces very different issues. I dislike rating child abuse stories with 5 stars due to their content however Cathy touches this topic with the ultimate sensitivity that makes her truely unique. You emotionally travel every high and low with Cathy and Aimee. I highly recommend this book for both Cathy Glass fans and other readers. You will not put it down once you start I promise you that!

I was a foster child, too.

Though my life was not as pretty before or after my adoption, I don't complain. My heart cries for the ones who suffer at the hands of the very ones who are supposed to love, nurture and protect innocent lives that are so vulnerable to the cruel world and subjected to such atrocities. Thank you for giving a voice to so many caretakers that give their hearts, lives and time to try to save precious children.

That she was finally loved by her care taker and now her brother,s family

Very scared for some children Togo through but I uppose it can really happen

A good book

I too was an abused child. I still have the need to read about abuse. God bless those who work and care for these children.. my daughter is a foster mom , she works so hard to help these children and she is so good to them. They all love Meme. Loving kindness is what I taught my family and we just giving.... Thank you Cathy Glass God bless you!!!

Disturbing but informative.

This is a testament to the shortcomings of the foster program but also to how loving some foster parents can be. This woman has so much heart and love to give and is an example of what all foster parents should follow. God bless her for all she did for this child. She is truly an inspiration.

Love her books

I have read several of Cathy glass books and love them all. I would recommend to all my friends .

Another Forgotten Child

Thank goodness there are people like Cathy in this world. Every one of her books I've read so far, I've loved. The heartbreaking true stories of many forgotten children in our world will make anyone cry tears of sadness and joy both. Truly worth the read.

Inspiring Story

Cathy & her family have such love, patience, and understanding fostering these poor broken children they take in. Always a happy feeling when these children find forever homes. I just downloaded Please don't take my baby. I know it's a older book, but I'm really hooked with all these stories. Keep up the great work you are doing for these children.

... have all taken me on a journey - I enjoy reading the follow up's on Cathy's web site

I have read 14 Cathy Glass books & they have all taken me on a journey - I enjoy reading the follow up's on Cathy's web site. I am sure most foster carers are in it with the best of intentions however Cathy you are special! The way you care for these children & your own Cathy is a credit to you. I trust you will take some `Cathy time' when adult company comes along. The world is a better place for your being. Please keep writing the books.

Heartbreaking with a happy ending

A great author who has devoted her life to helping the most vulnerable in society. Open and honest in the life of a foster career.

One of the best foster care books I have read..

Cathy has the patience of a saint, and she truly needed them with Aimee, and putting up with Aimees mother Susan. Not to mention some of the most aggravating contact supervisors... She had every right to walk away from this case, but Cathy did not..because in the end it woulda been Aimee who would have suffered.. Hear hear to Cathy Glass, you are one hell of a foster parent..

Brilliant

Foster parents are truly amazing people and those children who are fostered and amazingly strong. I enjoyed this story an am inspired by the people in this world that care selflessly for others despite all the challenges

Good read

Favorite Author

Very moving story with a wonderful ending. Cathy Glass is a wonderful Foster mother and all her books are well written and very meaningful she grabs your heart from page one until the end. There was not one thing I disliked and will continue to read all her books

To all parents with young children. Cathy Glass keeps good records and tells a beautiful true story. I recommend every advid reader to injoy her books

Sad little children

It's so sad that children have to grow up in conditions like Aimee did. A drug addicted mother who worries more where her next fix is coming from rather than where the food is for her child. Amiee's story is sad, however, it will give you hope. It is a story to read.

Well organized and detailed

This is another can' t put it down book. I found myself saying , just one more page. Well organized and well written

Definitely recommend this book

Another story by Cathy Glass of a foster child. Some parts of this story are difficult to read, and you will find yourself getting angry at the "system", but this story has a happy ending for a little girl who desperately needed it. People like Cathy Glass are angels!

Happy ending are possible

A very moving well written story that brings to light the holes in safety nets for children at risk of abuse and neglect pointing to the work needed to help give all children a safe and happy environment to grow up in. Kudos to the many people willing to take on the responsibility of fostering the millions of at risk children world wide.

A good read, but sad.

Sad, and like so many other true stories of kids in the system. Perhaps some people do not believe these things really happen--and right next door, but they do. Amazing how many children manage to survive lives like this and make some kind of life for themselves. Don't read it if you cannot stand the harsh reality!

Great

This was a page Turner and one that kept me up late. First time I have read a Glass novel

Excellent read

Another Forgotten Child is another excellent book by Cathy Glass.

Fantastic, and very moving

Cathy Glass has done it again! This was a very touching read. It was so sad, the life that Aimee had lived before coming into care and as I'm sure was stated, horrendous the fact that she was left to suffer as she had. There are so many children in this world who need a good home, being adopted myself I can understand and appreciate the need of a loving family. I would definitely recommend this book!!

Very good!

All of Cathy's books are interesting and eye opening to the problems of child abuse. We should all be reminded that children are struggling with terrible lives. Thanks Cathy!

Some cared

Some kids don't have a big brother to go to. Some other children stay in a carers home for a long,,long time. I love all The Cathy Glass books. Am a big fan.

Very sad, very unexpected

Very sad, very unexpected. I love Cathy Glass books. She is able to tell the story of the child's suffering but after the child has come into care. Could barely put it down.

Good book

Good book very sad though.

ANOTHER FORGTTEN VHILD

I was a bit disappointed with Cathy Glass. Seems like the book was more about her appointments and paper work than than about Aimee .

Fostering and Adopting

I like reading true stories and Cathy Glass' stories are just that.

Maggie

I enjoyed reading this book. It always saddens me to read these types of books due to the fact that children are suffering. Yet it feels great to know that there are people like Cathy around to help.

Another great read

I can’t get enough of Cathy Glass. It only takes a little bit to read her books I get so engrossed

Very good book with some touching scenes that will make a ...

Very good book with some touching scenes that will make a person admire those who offer to open their homes and hearts to foster children. Some times it was hard to read. Never a dull moment.

Cathy Glass

Cathy Glass is a great writer. I have been reading her books for a couple of years. When my niece decided to become a foster carer, I loaned her all of my books and it really opened her eyes and gave her useful knowledge.

Another Forgotten Child.

I finished reading Another Forgottenn Child. This is another wonderful book. The way Cathy present this book is amazing . A child was help with love and bouldering by Cathy. Wow what an excellent testimony . We can do better in life. You are doing something so great for all this kids. Thank Cathy. I cry went I read all yours books. Great work in the Another Forgotten Child. Well done again. And keep the good work and keep writing. Everyone most read this book.

Well done

I have read all of Cathy Glass's non-fiction books on the children she fosters. She handles each story with the love and concern they each deserve. I find her stories fascinating, enlightening and heart-warming. She is an amazing person making positive changes in the world, one child at a time.

Not great writing, but a great and true and possibly useful story.

A touching story. It may be useful and encouraging for other foster parents.

Angry little girl

True story, very sad but such a nice happy ending. A horrible fist 8 years, a lousy mom. A wonderful foster mom that turned her life around!

Great book, heartwrenching...

This book details another child lost in the system, damaged by sick people. I find her books hard to read because of the sad content, but unable to put them down. This one was a little slower than the last I read (damaged) but still worth the read.

Great story

Aimee's story was eye-opening and touching. I loved how this book was written...we saw how Aimee transitioned from a damaged girl to a happy child with a loving family. The book also reminded me that problem families exist everywhere, not just in the US.

.

Love all the books I've read so far

Another Forgotten Child

This book was very sad because of Aimee getting lost in the shuffle & having to endure so much abuse. It was good when she finally was able to get into foster care & then being able to live with family even though it wasn't her mom but at least a close relative. It is so sad that so many young children have to endure so much abuse. Cathy Glass is a good writer in telling of the children she has helped.

... to rescue children in need of the patience and love she provides

The story is well written and I have much admiration for the author and all she does and has done to rescue children in need of the patience and love she provides.

Another interesting book by Cathy Glass

I always enjoy reading books by Cathy Glass and her life helping children in need. This is another good one.

love it

Emotional reading

Most of the time the characters were very much real. It certainly was a eye opener however some time the wording seemed to mature for a 8 year old. I would highly recomment the book, I could not stay away from reading very long.

Good read

I could so relate to this story having been a Court Appointed Special Advocate (volunteer) for abused and neglected children. I have seen situations like this and it is very sad. A comment away from the actual story-- I believe the publisher should require appropriate spelling and grammar......that is why I gave only 4 stars. Story deserves a 5!

It just breaks my heart that this kind of abuse happens but how awesome that a woman like Cathy Glass takes these children in and helps them to have a better life.

Couldn't out this one down. An amazing story of a very abused and neglected child with an incredible spirit. Thank you to the author for hiding her back to a world of life, laughter and love and sharing her story with the world.

Happy ending

Nice story. Quick read. It's nice to hear about a happy foster home for a change. Cathy is very skilled at fostering. It takes a special person.

I did enjoy the book overall

Kind of slow reading, lots of repeats in story line. However, I did enjoy the book overall!

Very moving, eloquently written book about the ups and downs of fostering an abused child. A must read for anyone who has the notion of fostering a child or merely mentoring a child who's former life was living hell.

Heart wrenching story with a happy ending

This story had me from the word go. Gives good insight into fostering, and especially into the brave children who live through abuse.

Heartwarming

Cathy Glass has done it again. Moving story. You will laugh and cry as the story unfolds. Wonderful reading from beginning to end!

WONDERFULBOOK

It has very believable characters.I loved Amy and the fact she got much better.Abuse of any type can badly scar a child.I love Cathy Glass as a writer.I would recommend this book for everyone.I could not put it down I also loved her other BOOK about Jodie .CICELY Pitts

Five Stars

excellent book

Cathy Glass is an angel!!!

I absolutely love to hear these rescue stories Cathy lives and then writes about. She is an amazing woman who sees the diamonds she forms out of the coal she is given through fostering. Lucky children to be placed in her care, though my heart breaks for their losses and those of their parents.

A good read

An absorbing read, I enjoyed the author's style. It makes you glad there are people willing to take on difficult children.

Another Forgotten Child

This was a book that shows how some kids get looked over by the state but it is not the states fault it is because there is so many unwanted, unneeded families that need help and no one is there to think of what is best for the kids.

Foster Care woes

It was a very telling story of the foster care system in the UK and here in the USA. Very sad situation with a beautiful outcome

Another great story

As a foster parent in the USA I related to this story. It is not very often that there is such a beautiful outcome. Very enjoyable

Another great read from Cathy Glass

This makes the 4th of Cathy's books I have read. She writes so well, it tugs at your heart. I wanted to jump ahead to see if Aimee really went to the Forever Family, or stayed with Cathy. I could not put the book down until I finished. Great read, and very well done, Cathy.

Great Book!

I found this book to be especially interesting. I have admiration to folks who can take in such a child and help them the way Cathy Glass did. What a blessing such people are.

Wonderful

Loved this book

Another home run.

I love to read these wonderful books. What a good story teller and wonderful person telling sad but hopeful stories.

A good read with a somewhat happy ending for this child

A good read with a somewhat happy ending for this child. My greatest admiration to anyone becoming a Foster Parent and what they must have to go through.

Love Saves!

Couldn't put the book down. What an amazing story of love making an definite change in a little girl's life and her brother's. We all need love and realized how fortunate I am to always be loved! Making a difference in someones life is what matters.

How does this happen?

What a heartbreaking story, told so well. A look into the destruction of drug abuse and the real victims. Thankful for foster carers who offer a way out for these poor little ones.

Inspired

A wonderfully moving story. Let's the reader see just how hard these care givers work to help these children. It is so hard to imagine the horror these kids went through. And what kind of monsters it took to inflict all the suffering and pain on them. THANK YOU CATHY for all the hard work you do.Thanks to all of you who give so much to help these kids.

Sad story with a happy ending

This is my first book by Cathy Glass: it kept my attention throughout the entire book. I will be reading more of her books soon.

Cathy Glass

Every time I read a book by Cathy Glass, I am heartbroken that things like this can be allowed to happen in functioning society. I have always wanted to adopt, but Cathy makes me wish I could adopt every child that needs to be loved.

Amazingly sad

My mother was a foster mom, so I saw first hand how a child looks when then come into care. Its really scary to think about all the lost children that are left at home to fend for themselves.

Another great story

This book is very touching and it shows just how strong love can be between star n gets it also shows that anything is possible and can be turned around with lots of love support and understanding I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a good story especially good read for winter break

Great book!

A very touching story of Aimee.

Great book - highly recommend

Upsetting, unforgettable but deals with the reality of life. Makes you grateful for the life you had. Sad, shocking but ends well.

Hard to put down

I enjoy reading Cathys books because she tells the story so well. I am a big fan and read alot of her books. MY HEART goes out to Aimee and I would like to wish her many years of happiness in the future.

Another Forgotten Child

This was such a wise and well thought out story of fostering children. I loved the dynamics of parent and child and how time worn wisdom on how love and consistancy can bring about trust and security within the heart of a child. This true story has a wonderful heart-warning conclusion

great book

I chosed this rating because this book is very interesting I love Cathy Glass books it was in very good shape also

Compelling story

Horrifying tale. Compelling narrative by the foster caregiver. Possible a little formulaic, but probably not from a neglected child's point of view.

Another great book by Cathy Glass

All of Cathy Glass's books are so interesting and informative. Highly recommend.

Another emotional roller coaster

Yet again Cathy Glass has taken me on an emotional roller coaster ride with Another Forgotten Child. As with all of Cathy's other books this is beautifully written and you can't help but laugh, cry, be horrified and over-joyed. I can't wait for the next book now :)

Couldn't put it down!

All of Cathy's books are sad but also very encouraging to hear how these poor children are able to move on and have a good life despite their sad start! Gives me hope for my beautiful 13 yr old daughter that we adopted at 9 years old!

Excellent read

Cathy writes a clear and concise chronically of her time and experiences with Aimee. But she also relates her feelings for the child and concerns and frustrations with the social services system in charge of her care. Very well-written. Marpeg

Happy ending

I thought this was written very well. It is sort of depressing. but it sure shows how the systems fail these children.

A true account of neglected children in the mist of our "caring civilization"

Excellent story

This book had my attention from the first page. What a wonderful thing the author does and how she is able to help this child find a forever family.

Five Stars

Very interesting book, especially if you are unaware of all the red tape involved in fostering a child.

Great read

This is the second book I've read by this author. As a teacher is a good reminder that many children come from troubled homes and most behavior problems stem from trouble at home.

Five Stars

Like all the books of Cathy Glass, it is fantastic, educational and straight to your heart.

Another chapter on how she adjusted to the new family would have been a better ending.

Well written, but too much repetition. Another chapter on how she adjusted to the new family would have been a better ending.

How Many More

A true life account of an experienced foster mother and her struggles with the social service system that is so overly bogged down that children have suffered.

Five Stars

I love these books by Cathy Glass. I could read her books all day long.
