Outstanding research and display of the Hermetic/Tehuti principles. I read the Kybalion prior to this read and what I enjoy most about this book is the historical examples he uses and Science to explain each principal. From a historical perspective many can argue about what culture or group of people have done the greatest travesties to mankind.I think the message of this book is being misconstrued as his bias when all he has done was give historical evidence as to how the barbaric practices began...keyword began. As human beings in this era we have fallen short with our level of spirituality and higher consciousness because we focus on the "I" of our ego as one of the principles states. The message is clear in this book and Chandler gives credit where credit is due to the Egyptians but the lesson has to manifest into reality so we all as human beings can live in a peacful state and love one another without judgement or prejudice and respect the Earth the Universe.

I bought this book for a class I was taking during my junior year of college. The class I took was called History of the African-American Spirit. I ended up learning a lot about black history through this book. One of the parts that stood out to me was a section that provided an explanation of how black people became victims of racism which still remains a problem. It doesn't just focus on racism. It also provides an explanation of how women were seen as second-class citizens to men and how this remains an issue for women around the world. I'm not gonna spoil it for anyone who wants to read it, but the explanations were very informative and I learned a lot from it. Besides being a book that's worth reading, it arrived on time for my class. It also arrived in good condition.

In 60+ years of looking for better truths that were workable I have now come across this good book. I got a lot out of chemistry and environmental sciences in dealing with the physical universe. I got much out of LaoTzu, Buddha, Blatavatski, and even Hubbard in exploring my own universe and the mechanics of the physical and my mental universe. These seven pillars of wisdom can unite all areas of existence. I concur with the thesis that simple and senior truth/knowledge came from the same locales and peoples that put homo whatever on the path that led us to become the us of today.

This book is revealing what was, what is, and what is to be. Change is constant. I recommend this book to all the Truth Seekers especially to my Black brothers and sisters who have lost their way since being brought out of Africa.

Reading this cause me to have peacefulness in my soul that I haven't felt in a while. The way Chandler revels the ancient teachings of Kemet is unprecedented and authentic. This book is rare opportunity to study with a true master. It almost feels as if he is the reincarnated soul of citizen teach of ancient Kemet. WOW!! My mind has been blown. This book is the pre-cursor to all the Law of Attraction, Conscious Creation texts out there. Chandler does an outstanding job explaining how Ancient African civilizations not only discovered the 7 Secrets of the Laws of the Universe, but how they used this knowledge to thrive! This is applicable to live consciously in any era. These 7 Laws of the foundation of all the successful ancient civilizations around the world. He introduces us to the 7 Laws, then elaborates on them further in each chapter, explaining how this knowledge spread from Africa to influence Greek, Chinese, and Indian civilizations/cultures (to name a few). Chandler's references are sound. The notes and bibliography open up a whole new library for you to explore. Thank you Wayne Chandler for this gem! Be sure to have your highlighter, and post-it notes ready!

I found this book very informative and thought-provoking and certainly to be highly recommended. Some reflections about the misdeeds of the White race might be disturbing, but reflect the truth - or some aspects of it seen through a specific lens. I am not sure I subscribe to the notion of IndoEuropeans and their existence, which is still debated. Let's just say that the book is certainly well researched, somewhat biased, but too intelligent to be easily dismissed. And very well written, too.

This book was highly recommended to me by a family member who is an avid reader of many unconventional topics, and it covers many such topics. With an introduction by the esteemed Dr. Van Sertima, this book is a very nice introduction to the "Seven Hermetic Laws". There are a mosaic of subjects covered, which include "sacred geometry", the Indo-European (Aryan) influences on world civilizations, and planetary energy grids (only to name a few). It is a truely scholarly endeavor that has birthed within me, an insatiable interest in related subjects.

I read this book because Ivan Van Sertima did the introduction. I am a great admirer of his works. However, I am giving this book a solid three for various reasons. I did really enjoy reading about the Indus Valley and intend on doing more reading the area. I think this book is good if you have know knowledge and you are just beginning to study. Should you read it? I don't see why not.

If you are looking to expand your mind beyond imagination, forget self-help books, of which I've probably read a hundred, and forget dry history books that don't connect the dots into the present and future. This book is everything. Ancient history, age old questions, human nature, spiritual inquiry, practical application, things you never thought of...Wayne B. Chandler is a true visionary with the ability to see from the past to the future, far beyond culture, class, race, or gender. His tone is straight-forward, simple, clear, and thorough. In a clear and organized yet holistic and engaging manner, Chandler leads you chapter by chapter through ancient, timeless principles such as Rhythm, Gender, Vibration, Duality, and more. One of the differences between Chandler's work and other books that may attempt to explain these principles is that Chandler is coming from a life's work in academia, professionally uncovering the truths of ancient history alongside the one and only Ivan Van Sertima. Not the history kids are taught in school, but going way beyond the surface. You will be enlightened in many topics as Chandler sites, often with very telling photographical evidence, the back story on why we are encultured to think about the world the way we do. This allowed me to shed so many constructs and boxes that were shaping my view of existence. Wow! I believe the author does lectures and retreats as well...I can only imagine what that would be like considering how much I got just from the book. If this was required reading in schools, the world would be a better place. People would understand that their supposed "differences" with others only exist because of "historical" misinformation and false constructs. I have not come across another book anywhere close to this. Very unique. This book is for any thinking person teenage and up, all races, all genders. PARADIGM SHIFTING. Oh - don't forget to read the footnotes! They are full of gems!

Excellent book, I purchased this book and it lead me to once again pick up the Kybalion. Wayne Chandler is very thorough in his research and what I love most about was it was very detailed and show direct connection with historical facts and the Hermetic Laws, this book certainly made an impact on my life and Mr Chandler excels in every area of his book, he simplified ancient knowledge into a format anyone from the novice to the adepts can understand. this book is simply a must for anyone who desires a change in their outlook and life, I have been touched by the wisdom put forth in this gem of a book. this is one book I will never lend out but will always recommend to everyone I meet.

The Ancient Future reveals the true history of man on our planet earth and the significance of the Universal Truths as passed through the ages by Hermes Trismegistus (Thoth) and echoed through all of the ancient cultures in their cultural centers of higher thought and consciousness. I am surprised to see so few reviews here, as this book has had such an influence on my life. I do not know how to begin to adequately express its significance, and perhaps that is appropriate. Those who are ready for the knowledge will be drawn to it in a time and manner which is right for them. "When the ears of the student are ready to hear, then cometh the lips to fill them with Wisdom." -- The Kybalion Ancient Future is a "modern" approach to the ancient wisdom of Kemet, which was passed from lips to ear since pre-diluvian days and then more recently (about a hundred years ago), was recorded in a book entitled "Kybalion". Kybalion has been out of print for a long time, but can be found if you diligently seek it.

This is a well written book on hidden African history that they do not teach in the schools of today. I it was interesting to read about the history of women in general and how they were the first slaves. It was intriguing to know that for thousands of years women were once held in high regards. Men were once their servants. And there was a time where they could have more than one husband. Now of course the tides have drastically changed. How sad.

My friend introduced me to this book. I read several pages of his book while traveling on a 19 hour flight back to the U.S. for leave. Afterwards, I decided to purchase my own copy. Great book. can't wait to complete it.

Our science has yet to come to the level of the ancients. Tehuti's widsom shines through in this book, but the author's incorrect subjective viewpoints do as well. He dwells significantly on his perception of the Aryan (that invaded the "black" lands of ancient India) race as savage and warmongering as if it was a characteristic exclusive to them. We must not forget it was Mongols who stormed across Asia, killing uncounted thousands as they went. Tamerlane's sweep across what is today Iran razed whole cities to the ground and wiped the memory of them from the mind of man. Modern scholars estimate well over one million souls perished in that campaign alone. Then there are those "peaceful" Mayans. That is what I was taught in my youth, but upon doing research into the culture of that infamous Mesoamerican civilization, I found that the proof--very prevalent in their iconography and stela--is there to demonstrate unequivocally that they engaged in constant warfare, and the chief aim of all their leaders was power at all costs. The process included tearing out the hearts of tens of thousands of hapless victims. And then there's that "peaceful" tribe of the Amazon Yanomamo. Again, another aboriginal people whose culture has been extensively studied by anthropologists and reavealed to be warlike. Yes, those "peaceful" hunters and gatherers of the jungles of South America were killing each other in perpetual clan wars long before any Aryan (caucasian) reached them. Jumping to modern times, recall the wholesale slaughter of Tutsies and Hutus upon one another in Rwanda. If I am not mistaken those tribes are not Aryan, yet were savage and murderous, hacking each other to pieces with machetes till the rivers ran red with blood, and bloated whitened corpes filled the water. Before World War II broke out with Hitler's invasion of Poland, the Japanese had attacked China, killing some 20-30 million people. The Japanese are not Aryans last I checked. Nevertheless, despite this subjective and incorrect view of the author that the Aryans are the particularly savage race on this planet, the book is filled with fascinating insights and information on the impact of very ancient Egyptian wisdom on culture throughout the ages and into the present (and future), and I highly recommend it to all. It is my own opinion that the sublime wisdom of Kem continues to shine the bright light of hope into a sometimes dark and dangerous world. Yes, it is not only the Aryan who is warlike, but it is mankind--homo sapiens sapiens. All races are in need of the wisdom of Tehuti, that they might lift themselves above their genetic barbarism and into a state of true "humanity."

He is beyond his time.I didn't like all the reference to Asian teachings because they got the these teachings from us, he gives them a little too much credit for a society that came after us but he has his own opinion and i respect it!

Chandler introduces high and sophisticated concepts about science and living in language that is accessible to most knowledge seekers. For those not mathematically inclined, this book is unique as it examines how math overlaps with science, bodies, spirit and emotion. The best parts of the book are the references to spirituality from every race and group of people. He does not spend too much time on Christianity, rather focusing on Taoism, Dogon, Doha, Kmt, Dravidians and Greeks. This book is a must read for any theologian, scientist, body worker or regular atomically spiritual being seeking deeper understanding.

Love this book. My husband has had his 1st copy for years. He referred to it so often that it fell apart. Most historical books only go back to the birth of Christ - this one takes you back to the birth of civilization. If one is truly interested in seeking THE Truth - a must read!!!

After having read the Kybalion several times, this master piece found me. It was a wonderful blessing. This book fills in the gaps that the Kybalion left open and provides the ground work for more personal research. I am reading the book a second time and have found more jewels. I will re-read this book several times. Mr. Chandler is a master. I look forward to his next treasure. I recommend this book to anyone interest in going beyond the Kyballion mystery.

Great read. It is a blessing to be exposed to truth through this book. It is shame that this is not taught in our schools.

Wayne Chandler has done a great job with this book. Very detailed and show direct connection with historical facts and the Hermetic Laws. A good book to learn how the Laws works and can be seen in everyday life and history. One problem though, he continues to "compare" KMTic Hermetic Laws with writings that are much much younger than TEHUTI LAWS. He does a lot of comparsions with India and Chinese. I never could overstand how one can think they can explain something better by comparing it to another? And the other is a subject most readers do not know about or are not concern with! If it was the Laws in KMT why reference India? What did the Indians do that is more understandable than what the KMTians ORIGINALLY wrote? I felt that I had a more overstanding of India's sufism than I did about KMTic LAWS. So this is why I gave this book 4 fours because of the unnecessary reference to the KMTic LAWS thru Asian eyes.

This book teaches about the true undiluted Seven Laws of Ancient Egypt or Kemet. This book discusses how the true spiritual teachings became corrupt, twisted or stolen by others. It is a must read for anyone into enlightenment! Ancient Future really open my eyes and is studied upon weekly.

"Ancient Future" is a very powerful work of scholarship. Recently, after hearing him speak, I introduced myself to Wayne Chandler. He suggested that I read this book. I was impressed by the information and tools that he shared in his talk. I was blown away in a truly positive way by the breadth, depth, and scope of the information he shares in "Ancient Future." "Ancient Future" is a living treatise of the past, present, and future. I could literally feel my spirit becoming freer and more aligned with truth the deeper and deeper I read into the book. Wayne's presentation of the seven Hermetic Principles is amazing! I contacted the author when I was a little more than halfway though the book to let him know how much I appreciate the work. He invited me to his retreat in Jamaica (which was happening when I contacted him) so I can have the opportunity to bring the principles in the book to life. My intention is to do just that. Wayne presents concepts for living fully from the place of mind-body-spirit. This book is very moving for me mentally, spiritually, and intellectually. It brings an understanding of the past, tells why we are where we are today, and provides the means for creating a better future. Kudos to Wayne Chandler for giving the world the beautiful gift of "Ancient Future"!

I have read this at least 3 times now and it is still blowing my mind. It has motivated me to not only research black history but white history and culture as well. What I have found is astonishing. Whites have always been the aggressor/aggressive while blacks are just a bit too laid back but I guess that is just our respective ways. As the saying goes "every dog has its day" and this civilization and time is theirs and when their time is up it will be ours again b/c what goes around comes around. I'm not saying that we will enslave/torture/mutate/ and manipulate their minds but that the negative energy they put out while they ruled will come back on them. it is our job to reconnect with our ancestors and usher in a new age of enlightenment that only blacks can do. this book will help us on our journey to doing just that. Ancient Future, The destruction of Black Civilization and Stolen Legacy should be the cornerstone in every conscious black persons library.

I love this book so much! This is my second time purchasing it. The first time it was at a small bookstore called Children of the Sun in D.C. I misplaced it a couple years ago and HAD to purchase it again.

Ancient Future is the unified field theory of ancient history, culture and civilization. Ancient Future has been the flagship moral tome in my personal library for just over a decade, but as I review it again this time, I now discover that I no longer find many of the principles personally applicable to my present worldview. When I initially encountered the text, I was a seeker and novice critical thinker milling through each church, mosque, temple and movement of the organizational multitude in search of an answer to an obscure internal question. Ancient Future was filled with precisely the sort of supernatural ambiguity which could fill that void. Furthermore, it was written in the tradition of my namesake, Djehuti, which added to my idyllic attraction. There was a time when I loved nothing more than to contemplate these forms of artificial complexity while ascribing to all things a meaning whose truth of knowing may have made me none the wiser for my worry. Things have changed greatly since that time. I love my humanity and want nothing more than to embrace that notion more fully. "Divinity" and "Eternal Life" are still as cryptic as they were in a previous era, but I have disengaged from grappling to comprehend such mysteries for what I posit are more worthwhile pursuits where concrete and finite answers are to be found. The feelings noted above are applicable mostly to the first 5 principles where a great deal of energy is expended establishing ground for concepts like mental metaphysics, karma and "the All". In order to accomplish this aim, subjects such as physics and geometry are tackled with the goal of displaying how all things cooperate in cosmic order. Perhaps this is why I found the greatest insight in the closing chapters of the text which were also the most densely packed containing "The Principle of Rhythm" and "The Principle of Causation". The former was filled with histories of ethnic and social migration and conflict throughout West Asia (Europe), East Asia, Africa and the Pacific. The latter contained a simple admonition to remember that the actions humans pursue on this planet hold serious consequences which we must prepare ourselves to face in the future with changing weather, water wars and famine encroaching ever nearer on the horizon. I would arguably state that "The Principle of Rhythm" is the greatest concise history of human migration patterns ever written. Chandler also veers off on the direction of discussions of the descent of matriarchy which accompanied the rise of patriarchy, sexual exploitation, subjugation by gender and other social ills. From a wide view, this volume will remain an important addition to my library and I am likely to reference it in future writings, but it has certainly lost some of its luster since that first awesome encounter in the Underground Bookstore on 71st Street. This is understandable for we are always growing from the place where we stood previously and we must be prepared to recognize that growth when it makes itself apparent.

Mr. Chandler with ease and utmost competency, clarity and excitement opens the reader to essential ancient beliefs that directed,no created life and that instruct the present and future. Never sounding like a wishful collage builder for any particular ideology he steadfastly make his case for the enduring wisdom of the ancients and proves resoundingly that it may be ancient but not primitive. I can't wait to get his other books, regretfully Amazon does not carry them.

Kudos to Mr. Chandler on his excellent research and format regarding the ancient Hermetic Laws. Newcomers to the studies of esoteric wisdom will find this book extremely helpful because its extensive research and Mr. Chandler's outstanding writing skills. He definitely has a gift of writing. [...]

Getting to know a little more about Wayne through his book "Ancient Future" that I was privileged to reveiw when it first made its debut has been & is a blessed opportunity. It immediately caught my heart because of my love for all peoples of the world ~ no matter their color, creed, looks, education etc. It is saddening to realize how many people of the world have and do suffer from mistreatment. Enjoyed this book and its format. Excellent presentation of the Hermetic principles and historical and contemporary insight. None of its concept was new to me but it provided a interesting and ionformative perspective.

Simply --Life changing! Chapter 7. The Principle of Causation should be read by all. I have since stop smoking and started Tai Chi classes.

I've been mentally debating buying, and reading, this book for a couple of years and finally the time felt right. Boy am I glad it did - this is a fascinating exploration of the Hermetic principles and their relevance to late 20th century society. As someone eminently comfortable with Hermetic principles I found the actual overview of the key principles of Hermeticism to be really accessible and understandable. These principles are then expanded with sections of varying lengths devoted to each. These sections contain more recent examples and additional information to make each principle come to life from a modern perspectives. Sometimes I felt that the author's personal beliefs came through and affected his vision and found some examples more relevant than others (however this was, in the main, excused by virtue of the amount of new information contained). However reading this 20 years after its publication date left me wanting a 2nd edition just to bring some of the elements up to date (especially the "Rhythm" section) with socio-environmental changes at the moment.

I've read quite a few books on hermetics and this author was one of the few able to break down the hermetic laws in great detail while staying in an easy to read format. As a student of esoteric knowledge I've got to say It's amazing work. It should be in every serious students library. As the saying goes 'History was written by the victors'. I find that most information on Tehuti/ HermesTrismagistus/ Thoth and the Hermetic Principles are tied to greek even European influences. This book seems to be one of the very few that addresses the fact that this information originated in ancient Egypt and Kush. 'Know Thyself' has long been a phrase accredited to Plato and the Delphi Temple. That is ironic because Plato studied in the Egyptian city of Alexandria. The important phrase, as well as the hermetic tradition, originated on the African continent. The most impressive thing for me is through reading the book I was able to see the principles themselves shine a light on a much more connected way of life between all sentient beings and on all planes. I still have a lot to learn and iIt is possible i'm looking through rose tinted glasses but it kind of puts today's society to shame. Buy the book you wont be disappointed.

Really love this books as it introduces you to the 7 hemetic laws in practical understandable scenarios. This is definitely a book to have im your library on your road to finding out who you are as well as history.

Such a great read. If anyone read The Kybalion and was left confused I recommend this book as it goes in depth about sever Hermetic principles. Also very valuable history teachings.
