An exciting chapter in the wild Hunt Series

The Cruharach approaches and Ember tries to get ready for this event, a revelation rocks Herne’s world that could damage their relationship. In the middle of this, the Wild Hunt is approached by Raven, one of the Ante-Fae, to investigate the disappearance of her fiancé. As a bone-witch, Raven has been warned by the spirits that something is amiss. The Wild Hunt races across a trail of bones and blood as they try to figure the mystery that soon extends into several unsolved disappearances. A serial killer is targeting the Dark Fae and it is up to the Wild Hunt to stop the murder. But as they race toward the killer, a bombshell erupts that could lead to war between the fae courts and an ancient enemy. Wow is all I can say after reading A SHADOW OF CROWS. The Wild Hunt is fast becoming one of my favorite series of this author. I can’t get enough of this series. Its full of some of the most amazing cast of characters that just are so unique and intriguing. I mean I never heard of the Ante-Fae until this series and am loving the introduction of Raven into the Wild Hunt series. This new story brings Ember even closer to the Cruharach and her relationship with Herne continues to evolve and get more solid as time goes on but trouble looms as the new case, they take on also introduces some issues that may break Ember and Herne apart. I love this author’s writing and in her new installment in the Wild Hunt series we see her trademark writing style in all its glory and the reader can’t help but enjoy all the fun this author throws at her characters. The story flows swift and there are a few twists I sure did not see coming. I liked the introduction of raven into the mix and think she will bring some amazing energy to the series as well intrigue me in hoping the author writes some books about this character. She is just that darn fun and amazing. A SHADOW OF CROWS delivers a few twists that will leave you gasping for more especially as revelations come out that will rock the Wild Hunt as well as the Fae courts. Will the wild Hunt solve this new case? Can Ember and Herne survive the bombshells coming? All this and more are in this new book and the author does an amazing job in keeping the tension on slow boil throughout the story and add in a few sexy times with Ember and Herne well, there is enough to keep the reader glued to the pages tillthe very end. I liked the mystery of Raven’s missing fiancé and look forward to more diverse cases for the Wild Hunt to solve. If you enjoy a darker urban fantasy filled with fae, mythology and more then you will enjoy the Wild Hunt series. I can’t wait to see where the author goes next in book five, The Hallowed Hunt. Run-don’t walk-to grab this series and get ready for fun, adventure and lots of pure reading enjoyment. This is an objective review and not an endorsement

Rivetting Story

Yasmine Galenorn's books are the best company! I love the way the magic and the fantastical parts let me drift away to another world while I'm reading. But, for all that fantasy-feel the characters are so very human and relatable. The Wild Hunt series has found this balance especially well, and I loved this latest installment. (Then again, I love anything to do with crows.) The major thing I love about this series is the emphasis on chosen family. This has been a theme, more or less, in all of Ms. Galenorn's books, but it really takes wing here. The Wild Hunt is a magical investigations agency. Each member of the agency has been separated from blood family, either through loss or physical and social separation, and they find, in each other, the security, caring, and, yes, petty and not-so-petty frustrations most of us look for in family. A Shadow of Crows is suspenseful and twisty, and introduces a few new characters. One of the twists is a personal problem for Herne and Ember that I so didn't see coming. I like the way their relationship problems are happening alongside the pressures and demands of their work. We're shown how they deal with this, both the positive and the negative. If you've been finding any of Ms. Galenorn's books a little on the short side in recent years, you'll be happy to know that this one is long and winding and full of different storylines. Most of these plot lines gets resolved. There are no cliff-hangers at the end of the story, but there are definitely some loose threads. My only complaints? 1) I wanted even more crows. and 2) While the build-up to the major resolution was a lovely, long, winding path, the actual resolution and book completion were, I thought, a little bit rushed. Neither of those things took away from my enjoyment of the book. If you love magic, and mythology, and strong bonds and relationships between people, and if you enjoy futuristic urban settings, I definitely recommend this series. Do start with the first book "The Wild Hunt."

Lots of Action

A lot happens in this book. I won't spoil what Herne and Ember go through, but will reassure all that they come through fine. The Ray situation is hopefully about over. Ember learns a lot about many things related to her heritage and it's terrific!

Very Good Read

Started this series on a whim, but continued it because the story is very well written. Characters are not two-dimensional cookie cutouts. The world seems to be well thought out and consistent. May be a little risque for a younger audience, some sexual themes do play out through the series, but I would recommend to anyone.

Yasmine Galenorn is fantastic

Yasmine Galenorn writes strong female characters fantastically but she isn’t afraid to give them a flaws that make them more relatable. I have read her books for many years and have never been disappointed by one. The romance she writes for her characters only makes them stronger in most cases and she is never afraid to give them conflict. Her world building is also outstanding.

Love Ember and her adventures!

So many good things to say about this book. The characters and story drew me in and I love how the mythology is incorporated throughout. It's just a great read and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Another Great Book

Yasmine Galenorn takes us deeper into Embers wild and dangerous world. Ember gets further involved with the Wild Hunt and it's incredible leader. Which also takes her farther into danger.

Loving the World of the Wild Hunt

This is a world I always enjoy diving back into. In particular, I’m excited about the introduction of Raven Bone Talker! In this book, we get to know a bit more about Herne and Yutani.

Good read

I am so happy I stumbbled upon Yasmine in a book store years ago as I enjoy any of her books. I am drawn into the worlds she creates in each series. This one was a pretty good read nothing too drastic but building on the back story that is to come in the series. Looking forward to thr next.

Slight cliffhanger but a great read

Great story, not that I would expect anything less for this author. I love how the characters keep evolving and growing with each book. I also like that they deal with real world issues. I am looking forward to the next book since this one did have a slight cliffhanger.
