I realized that we should be seeking the Lord in his word, the Bible, instead of trying to hear his voice through others. We are told to test the spirits to discern who is actually speaking. I know a lot of people who purchase these books (including myself and now regretting) are looking to hear from God maybe the easy way. But sometimes the easy way isn't the right way. Who knows where this woman got this word from. I want to be sure that any word I get is from the Lord and from him alone from me building a relationship with him

I chose this book because it was written by the same author of another book that I am reading. Ms Young writes in such an unusual way. I intend to read and recommend as many of her journals as possible. I will be presenting in a seminar that will be focusing on "getting in the face of God". I plan to purchase some of the author's devotional books to give to those in attendance.

I have learned so much about how to handle life's diffieculties, joys and being thankful for the many gifts we receive every day that we sometimes just take for granted. 40 days with Jesus is very much like her other books, I prefer her other titles as they can be used for a year long devotional instead of just for a little over a month. If you have never used Sarah Young's writings, this might be a good one to start out with. Some people are uncomfortable with the format

This is one of the most amazing books ever. Its's easy to read and carry with you where ever you go! It blessed my soul and raised my spirits each time I read it. If you don't have one, your missing out. Please get a few and share with family and friends.

This is the second time I've ordered many of these- that's how much I love them.

This book is based on Scripture, but it is written as if the Scripture is a letter directly written to you. If you sometimes find yourself "reading over the top" of Bible passages because they are so familiar, these short devotions will make you look at the familiar from a new perspective.

Very well written as well as a uplifting journey. Lots of scripture to go along with short story it will touch your heart.

If you are into spending g quAlity time with the Lord this is one of the books that needs to be right beside your Bible. Sara Young is a great writer and I use several of her books in my daily time with the Lord. After reading d ing through this book for 40 days I start all o Eric again and read it. Wow! I absolutely loved getting to start my day reading this! It's such a great way to lead up to Easter! Going through the Lenten season becoming more aware of God's presence in your life is so great! These short sections were so convenient on the go for a quick and constant reflection of just how wonderful God's presence is and how worthy of celebration He is!

This is a great little gift to give inside a card to someone in a hospital or to those we counsel with in order to encourage them to begin a routine of reading a daily devotional.

Jesus is always with us. There is a Word each day for 40 days. This book was used as a daily devotional for me. I have it on my Kindle and my IPhone. I keep both on my night stand and each morning before getting used up and my Facebook friends have to out of bed, I read from "40 Days with Jesus.

This is a great Daily Devotional reflecting Scriptures from Old Testament and New Testament. The devotionals are written as if Jesus is speaking directly to the reader reminding us of His Love, Strength and Peace He gives freely to all.. I have bought several copies of this book to give to others.

This little book was given to me years ago and I didnt end up reading it until years later. Ended up reading it at the exact time and season God designed. Loved it so much, ordered for several others.

I liked having this on my Kindle Fire. You can start the 40 day devotional at any time. It is easy to read; has features to allow highlighting and also gives definitions of words in the text. I felt it was worth using for a second 40 days and had enough days in between that it didn't feel like I couldn't get something out of it a second time. Most of the devotionals are just one page long and are written from the perspective that Jesus is speaking to the reader.

Sarah Young has an uncanny ability to use the words of Jesus to speak to one's heart to enhance one's quiet time.

I really love this little devotional. The key aspect of it is that the Lord is speaking to you in the first person so it feels very personal. The entries focus on a few key areas all related to building your relationship with him by communing with him throughout the day, not being anxious in difficult situations, being thankful, receiving his peace and some others key areas. Using these writings to meditate on Jesus has really been a life changer for me. Note: It is very similar to "Jesus Calling" by the same author, but it only has 40 days of material instead of 365, and it also includes some of the reference scriptures.
