Wolf Shunned: A shifter fantasy romance (The Alpha Queen Legacy Book 1) Kindle Edition
It’s amazing to be a powerful wolf… if you’re male.
When you’re a nineteen year-old girl who can beat the crap out of every wolf in your pack, suddenly it’s not so great.
Love isn’t everything, I know; but even the most powerful she-wolf submits to her mate. If you can’t be beaten, you can’t be mated.
And an unmated wolf has no place in the pack.
My one hope is the clan gathering in the Blackwood Fortress. Every wolf in the continent attends, and a few seriously sexy wolves catch my eye. I’m bound to find at least one who can match me, right?
Then there’s my other problem: My pack leader is a grade-A jerk. After treating me like a genetic freak my whole life, he suddenly decides to stake a claim. But I can’t refuse the challenge, and my wolf won’t back down. Either I submit to the pack leader and become mated to his skeezy pelt, or I win the challenge and my freedom… by taking his place as pack leader.
Only no one has ever heard of a female pack leader, and if I become one, I’ll never find a mate.
Wolf Shunned is the first book in The Warrior Queen Legacy, featuring a badass heroine, a dystopian fantasy world, and loads of sexy wolf shifters. Be warned: This is a slow burn romance in which the heroine keeps all of her men. Once you pick this story up, you won’t be able to stop devouring it until the very last page.
The Warrior Queen Legacy is now a complete series!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2021Wow! Hot damn!!! This is a new author to me, and that tends to be very hit or miss. Wolf Shunned was an absolute HIT for me! It checked all my favorite boxes.
✔ Stoic, badass fmc (quiet inner strength as well as physical strength)
✔ Slow burn RH (the steam level is fairly low in this first book but there is loads of sexual tension between the fmc and the H's. It's down right heart pounding at times.)
✔ Differentiated Hero's (unique voices and characteristics)
✔ Intense, gripping plot (couldn't put it down, finished it in one day)
✔ Loads of character and world building
✔ Not bully or enemy themed
✔ Mature story and character dialogue (no unnecessary drama!)
For those of you who fear cliffhangers, let me reassure you that this first book leaves us in a safe place. Book two comes out in a few weeks and book one leaves you in a good place so I would say don't fear diving into this now. I'm super eager for book two, excited to see what happens between the Alphas and their inherent desire to challenge Kaliya (fmc) and what the Oracle prophesy says about her.
Gripping start to this series L. Night. Great job!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2022The book itself warns you about it being a slow burn why choose situation. So if youre looking for lots of smut this isnt the book for you. There's 1 scene but no s e x in this book.
Spoilers ahead probably.
So I do really like the FMC and I do like the dynamic that what's going on between her and Mikal the new Alpha of her clan. I like that she did not put herself in a bad situation with him and she understood that he was not a good person and that the book did not dwell on that too much and get super repetitive about it. The book does follow a very disturbing Zombie type of storyline. They have creatures that are humanoid ish And they have different clans all over the United States and the world and all of the clans meet up in a centralized location every 5 years and they have traditions that go on there for challenges and mating challenges. This is a wolf shifter. It's goodBut my only complaint is that the book is somewhat slow with not whole lot going on but there is a lot of world building in the 1st spoke which I like especially since its only 240 pages.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2023This series has a lot of mysteries that are slowly revealed over 4 books. While making my way through the series, I was on the fence regarding whether I liked the story or not because I wasn't sure if my issues would be addressed when the full mystery was revealed. Now that I've finished, I'm underwhelmed.
I liked the premise of this world:
Its set in a kind of apocalypse that modern day humans created with bio-technology/genetic engineering.
I like that there were different historical documents for the same set of events that the characters had to parse for themselves (eg. scientific vs. religious narratives).
When the book started I thought it was set in a paranormal world, when really it's set in the real world but far in the future. I thought that was cool. I found it realistic and interesting how people so far in the future might try to analyze us and how we live with all these conflicting accounts. Not knowing what stories you can trust. It was thought provoking how a future archeologist might view us.
What I don't like is how in the end everything wraps up nice BUT still no one really understands what happened or why it worked. Felt a lot like "magic" which felt like a betrayal to the thing I liked most about the story: that so much was actually grounded in science. To abandon that and instead opt for an abrupt magical solution didn't sit well for me.
I also found it slow and repetitive. Lots of unnecessary stuff happens (why did they need to go to the Scribe?? If they haven't done to the Scribe, literally nothing would be affected beyond saving us 100 pages of filler)
The romance was slow, which I enjoyed. But if you are in it for the spice, you will be disappointed.
For me it didn't really hit the mark for what I look for in either romance or fantasy genres. It had so much potential, but ultimately fell flat.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2021absolutely loved this introduction to Kaliya and the Alpha Queen world. Kaliya is a dominant wolf shifter who has beaten all the males in her pack and cannot mate unless her Wolf submits to a male. Because of her dominance, she is an outcast in her pack. I absolutely loved this kick butt female who knew her power but you could also see how that had taken a toll on her. She was so believable and easy to cheer.
I loved the male characters (Emory is mine!!) and cannot wait to see how this story further develops. It has a strong plot and great world building that draws the reader in and helps you really connect with this fantasy novel. It is a slow burn RH but you can tell that will build as the characters get to know one another in the future books. This is a must read!

The world and character building in this book is amazing! Once you start reading you just have to finish (hence me starting this book at 11 p.m and finishing it now at 3:30 in the morning, lol)
I just can't wait to see how everything is going to turn out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely loving it!!🐺
This plotline is seriously unique. More like a mixup of divergent, hunger games and maze runner. Atleast that's what it feels like to me. The story is in a futuristic world where one wrong experiment by long ago humans led to the creation of blood-sucking wraiths ( kinda a mix of Vampires and Zombies) who took over the world. As a last ditch effort to preserve the species, the remaining humans were all turned into wolf shifters. The plan did not work out and now the shifters are being outbred and killed by wraiths more than ever. Moreover, society has fallen back to the rituals of ancient times and cars & giant, flying metal boxes are now just mythical tales. Now, people are ruled only by survival. Survival of the species where females have been relegated once more to second class citizens who are mandatorily required to be 'tamed' or 'dominated' by a male by the age of twenty and breed the next generation or else they are shunned from the protection of a pack and left as lone wolves to the mercy of wraiths who hunt in the night. This also applies to males. Any male who does not find a female to dominate suffers the same.
Kaliya is a female who has defeated every male who has ever challenged her including her Alpha. Now, just as it's difficult for a submissive male to find a female more submissive than him, similarly, Kaliya, a supremely dominant female, has never found a male strong enough to defeat her and she finds herself in a conundrum. An alpha is the strongest in a pack...so who would defeat her? And if no one defeats her she'll be unmated and will hence be banished according to the antiquated rules. As new and startling information comes forth, Kaliya finds that she has a bigger role to play than she ever imagine. This is a Slow-burn RH Romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dystopian werewolf reverse harem slow burn romance.
In Kali’s world you have to find a mate before your 20th birthday or you are kicked out of the clan and face certain death in the wilds. To get a mate the male has to dominate the female. What happens when the female is too strong to be dominated though?
Wolf Shunned was impossible to put down, a real page-turner. It was fast-paced, engaging and suspenseful.
Each scene lead toward a larger goal, but the ending left some questions unanswered ready for book 2!
The characters each played a vital role in Wolf Shunned. I connected to these characters so deeply that I didn't want their story to end. I was totally invested in them throughout the entire book.
I found it hard to put Wolf Shunned down. It was fast-paced, engaging and suspenseful; a joy to read.
Wolf Shunned provided a gripping glimpse of how the characters lived in this well-developed world, and the action was heart-pounding and effortless to visualize.
The text was well written and engaging. The writing style was consistent and the exposition didn't slow the plot overly much. There were a few typographical and grammar errors, but not enough to take me out of the moment. Great cover design and page layout.
Great world building, good writing style and a strong FMC.
