Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review from Webnovel - So it happened that I couldn't stop reading this story. It's amazing and worth the read, for sure. A very solid, grounded, and interesting take on the Xianxia world. Can't really say much besides the quality being top-tier. You won't regret giving it a read.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review from Webnovel - I'm not really one for the Wuxia/Xianxia stuff, been burned too many times by terrible writing and worse power fantasies, but this?
Yeah, this is fine.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review from Webnovel -
It's a delightfully fresh LitRPG/Wuxia story, a good mix of eastern and western ideas and styles.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review from Webnovel -
A refreshing take on cultivation stories.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review from Webnovel -
To read or not to read? Read!MC is good, people are actually believable, the way they talk isn't robotic or forced as ether too good or too ass-holish. It's a rare find and a good mix
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review from Royalroad -

Hello, friends!

My name is Yuri Ajin. I was born in Ukraine, in Kyiv, and English isn’t my native language.

I'm really a very simple guy. I finished high school, graduated from University. I loved reading more than anything, and at some point I started writing my own story.

I love that so many people, who might have never heard of me, just a few years prior, might now get a chance to become my readers and, hopefully, fans.

There are a lot of good books in the genre but this really gives an MC with a practical attitude while still having personal foibles that create the drama. Second time going through all the books for the new release in a few weeks.

And you killed it bruh! So I've got a couple things I like and dislike. The story has wonderful length and the detail is amazing. My dislike is rather simply. Too much action without pausing makes the story have less impact. Like the death of Grandpa. If that had been drawn out a bit more that scene would have struct more of a cord. I feel like the connect between the too didn't engender and real feelings of loss. More of anger and revenge.. Lots to think about. Keep up the great work!

I bought this mainly for a time-kill read. I was pleasantly surprised. It is well-written, with good world building, interesting characters, and an intriguing plot. The main character, while being given an advantage in strength that is typical in this genre, is not automatically the strongest around. He has to work for it a bit. I'm only about halfway thru the series so far, but I've bought the rest at this point, knowing I'll want to finish it. Lol. Even the side characters are intriguing, and the biggest mystery of all is the world itself, which I can't wait to see the reveal for!! Hope this author keeps up to good work!!

Good book and a good read . Kai as a character is a tad superficial and needs a bit further development ( might be coming in next few books, but haven’t got that far yet). Good overall
  • Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2020
This is your typical prodigy story . The story is ok with a beginning and end . The weakness lies in the battles themselves which for a martial arts book can be a bit glaring . The author may have done better writing a book with guns as the battles came down to the equivalent of saying pew pew and it died. The magic system and leveling system is pointless as the protagonist basically ignores it . He learns any ability by seeing it once and is a master at it including spells or magic item abilities . He’s basically a divinity that is only limited by his body not currently being strong enough. This changes rapidly by and with little fanfare . No described workouts here he just trains and a year later is where others would be in decades . Yes he has good teachers and access to items others don’t. This is what others has described as a neck beard novel where others are simply inferior and whatever barriers placed in front of the protagonist are the thickness of paper. I foresee either a short series or some sort of Weakness like kryptonite otherwise who could possibly stand in the way . Supporting characters that round out the protagonists flaws are not here as he has none. No group dynamic. At one point the MC fights fourteen warriors at once in a competition and not a single part of the fight is described its simply said that he won and fast . As his original skill was as a MMA fighter it just seems a wasted opportunity to describe what makes him great . He simply wins . Shrug .

nice to see a lit rpg cultivation story with stats. its hard to gauge progress otherwise. it does have a small few paragraphs on sexual-abuse if you don’t want to read about that. as for the plot, i did enjoy it. isekai into a gamelit story, has the coming of age progression where a 30 some year old mma fighter goes into a 14 year body.

Slow start, but once it is picked up, especially Kai's ability to learn technique by observing 'energy fluctuations' when it is performed, and when the competition stops, there's no going back. By the end of the book I cared for Kai.
