I didn't realize I was buying used. Being used isn't the problem, in this book it gives you things to write about and someone had wrote throughout this book. I'm glad I caught it before I gave it as a gift.

My daughter loves this book and diary!

My girls loved this book instantly and spent a great deal of time filling out all the fun pages! It is not just another book in the series, but it is more of an activity book or workbook. It has various kinds of questions and writing prompts that are really fun for young girls to fill out, answer, or even draw their response. Yes, you are supposed to write IN the book! Any girl who loved reading books 1, 2, and 3 will enjoy this book. I think it was a neat idea to add a unique book like this to the Dork Diaries series. Since it is intended for kids to write in the book I do not recommend it for Kindle.

my 10 year old daughter loves these Dork Diaries books and she was only missing two from the series. this one and the newest one, so for her Birthday this one won out. she is not a huge fan of reading, but these books she gets very excited about and sits down and reads until they are finished. she even reads in the car if we are going to be driving a while and likes to pass the time reading bits of it out loud to me. I love seeing her get excited over reading. I don't think kids,or even adults, do enough of it. it's so healthy for the brain. these are really cute books and I would recommend them to anyone with kids they are trying to encourage to read.

    My daughter like it much
  • Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2011
If your daughter is a fan of this series (as mine is), she will love it. It's very similar to the diary of a wimpy kid, do it yourself book, where you can write things in the book. This entire series is along the similar thread as the diary of a wimpy kid series, but for girls. To me, this activity book seems like a filler until the next book is published, and for fans, they will buy it up. My daughter read through the book, but only completed it haphazardly. No new content was really introduced. I'm sure for fans of the series, they will not want to be without this book, but it's certainly not essential for the continuity of the series.

This was a gift that was absolutely beloved. She still talks about it every time I see her.

I do however, recommend to NEVER buy this used. I tried twice, both times by very reputable sellers. The first time it was listed as very good with no writing or markings, it had 13 pages with at least some amount of writing on them.

The second time, I asked ahead of time for it to be checked. I was assured there was no writing inside. Again I struck out as there were four pages in the middle that had been very nicely, but very heavily written on.

Finally after two attempts, I broke down and paid full price despite being over my budget by adding it to her gift pile.

By choosing this book, you are in for a treat! Unlike Nikki's other diaries, this one explains how to create your own diary, just like Nikki's. This book can be drawn in and filled in in paperback, but if you get an e book (for electronic devices), you can make your own diary from scratch. Either way is great! In this story, Nikki has a horrible dream that she lost her diary. In the morning, she is hit with a terrible reality....She really did loose her diary! And, she is addicted to writing in it, so she fills her younger sister's annoying doodle book with tips on how to keep your own diary, and gives updates on looking for hers. All's she needs to do is find her diary before anybody else. What if Mackenzie finds it? The search is on! This book is amazingly illustrated, and is sure to have you laughing!
