In 1928, at the age of twenty-two, Peter Beilenson began printing books on a small press in the basement of his parents’ home in Larchmont, New York. Peter—and later, his wife, Edna—sought to create fine books that sold at prices even a pauper could afford.

Hmmm. So, I took those [sorry, a bit blurry] pics, reading "No bleed-through . . . See?" And then, after I glanced at the pictures [at least "in person"--not on computer screen, perhaps], I actually *did* notice a little bleed-through with the marker, which is just a fairly-light-orange, fine-tip, Tombow marker--not a thick Sharpie or anything of that sort---and the pen I used is a fine-point and "not-at-all-heavily-inky" fountain pen. So, if you use Sharpies and/or medium-point, "inky" fountain pens, you actually might have an issue[?] But, you know, considering my own purposes [and most of my pens], I've never been bothered by the tiny bit of bleed-through. [Btw, Is there a better phrase for "bleed-through"?].Though I've had this only a couple weeks or so, I'll mention that, so far, the cover is holding up. (It would likely hold up better if I took better care of my things: the (pretty!) paper cover is coming unstuck a tad on one corner, but, again, I don't handle notebooks and such stuff "daintily"---and I'm not averse to sticking a little piece of Scotch tape on there to reinforce it.)The paper isn't of the quality you'd find with, say, Lemone, of course, but at the price I paid (which I don't recall, but I do remember I bought this because it's "really pretty," and not pricey)--anyhow, at whatever, not-high price I paid for this, I'm fine with the paper quality.And, by the way, the paper is [as maybe the photos show, or maybe not] a nice "ivory" color--well, maybe more of a light "cream" color; and the lines are faint enough so that you don't feel as if you're using a second-grader's [marble-cover] composition book, but they're clear enough so that you see them without sort of squinting, or turning on a brighter lamp.To sum up: As long as you're *not* wanting a notebook/journal in which to write "Very Important, Meaningful Things for Antiquity," or the like---and provided you're going to be using fairly "normal" pens---I imagine you'll find this a pleasant notebook to write in and have around.
